Ugghhh… Paula/Jeanne’s first time writing for Leo. And just like under Ron, he’s still pointless and unnecessary. I wish Gabi had punched him in the face. With the way his scenes ended, maybe she will tomorrow. And hopefully, somebody behind the scenes reads the room about this character, especially now that Ron is gone. This D level character doesn’t need to be shoved down our throats anymore. Btw, his shirt was hideous. But I really appreciate the way that Paulina was written today. Her scenes with Johnny and then with Chanel were the best part of today. I like the way that she comforted him. In some ways, it was similar to his conversation with Marlena. And the advice that she gave Chanel was really good too. She seemed more subtle and a lot more resolved throughout the entire episode, which I think is a very good thing. It seems like the writing has also improved for Paulina, just like it did with Kayla. Speaking of Kayla, once again she was used more effectively than she previously has. I enjoyed the way that her scenes with newbie Dr. Russell were written. The cliffhanger was good too, but I still think Johnny is a red herring in all of this. And yeah, I know that this is a nitpick, but how was EJ able to be a part of the Bachelor auction, and get a date with Cat, if he was half dead in the hospital? 😂😂😂

I wonder if it's that easy to drug a member of Congress IRL. Kinda hope it is. 😂😂😂 And yeah, poor Gio. I really hope he isn't ruined by this whole Sonny thing, and that the writers let the character keep his own free will.

This is where Ron’s writing kinda screwed up the timeline. The Bo that actually died and was in Heaven in BS2 knows all of this and knows everybody. But in the current timeline, where Bo never really died and had been cryogenically frozen by Megan for all those years, he shouldn’t know any of this

Unbiased/unobsessed writing is always the way to go 😂😂 Maybe we could find out what Martin’s secret is, and how Bill’s involved. Maybe Tomas and Eva could share a kiss Just throwin’ out some ideas 😂😂😂

So, Doug III didn’t get the job at the Bistro. But I’m glad that Holly was finally featured in Tate and Sophia’s storyline today. I also think that Sophia was trying to be a shady bitch today to Holly when she revealed that Tate asked her to the prom. I didn’t mind it but I also think that the way that Rachel Boyd played it didn’t help all that much either. Philip finding out about Doug III hiding out at Maggie’s, and Doug III still owing money could be interesting though. Btw, if Doug III is so broke, who’s paying for his cell phone? 😂😂 Maggie was used very well today too. I like that she was there to rip Philip a new one and to comfort Julie about Doug III. And I couldn’t help but chuckle a little bit when Maggie brought up Julie stealing the mink stole. Is there even a comparison between that and what Doug III did? 😂 But Johnny/Chanel was the best part of today, and I totally expected that. There was such realistic dialogue and emotion throughout all of their scenes. I felt so bad for the both of them, especially because both of their POV’s make perfect sense to me. And again, I think we have some Emmy reels for both Carson and Raven. They both played the heartbreak and devastation so well. I can’t wait to see what happens next for the two of them. I love how Johnny’s conception/EJ’s shooting has had such a ripple effect across the canvas. This is how Days should always be. And the fact that it’s being handled by different writers who are giving us a fresh take on everything makes this even better.

Damn… what high strung douches Derek and Ashley are. Their conflict felt so forced and contrived. But I did appreciate Chelsea and Martin’s conversation about threesomes at the beginning. It seemed a lot more sophisticated and mature (and unbiased) then the last time a soap handled the subject of a threesome 😉 And, agreed that Chelsea and Allison do have some chemistry. Including the two of them in the friendship scenes with Derek/Ashley and Jacob/Naomi was a good idea as well. I’m also really liking the build up to Ted and Nicole’s anniversary party. Hopefully, other storylines besides Ted/Nicole/Leslie reach their climax too

Today was just funny 😂😂😂😂😂 And yeah, despite Gio being blind, I still really love his and Tracy's relationship. I can't wait to see what happens when the truth finally comes out.

Poor Javi doesn't even have his own character 😂😂 Hopefully, Paula/Jeanne rectify that. Agreed. Literally, the only time I saw some kind of spark with her portrayal was that day that she ran into Doug III in the Square.

Welcome back, Marlena and Steve! And just in time to get involved in Bo’s storyline. I liked the way that everybody absorbed the news about Bo, particularly Steve and Shawn and Jada. Jada using her own history with Marcus to help Shawn get through his guilt about Bo was a good idea and if that’s used to help propel this storyline forward, and also Shawn and Jada’s potential relationship, I think that would be a good idea as well. But I will admit that the hospital working on an experimental drug that could help Bo seems very sudden and random though, especially since the hospital was supposed to have been in such a dire financial situation. As for Johnny and Chanel, I don’t mind the pivot in their storyline either. It does seem like a normal reaction to everything that’s happened lately and much more believable and realistic than something that we would’ve gotten a few months ago. And based on his scenes today, I think on some level that it’s providing another red herring in the Who Shot EJ mystery. But I don’t think Johnny is the shooter though. And I’m really glad that he went to Marlena to talk to about how he’s not ready to be a father yet. This is how Marlena should be used; being there for her family and friends, not her dopey patients. I’m really looking forward to his scenes with Chanel tomorrow. Btw, I know that this is a nitpick, but how was Chanel able to just walk right into Salem High to talk to Tate and Sophia? Even if she was there for Felicity’s swim meet lol Speaking of Tate and Sophia, I don’t mind them going to prom together but again, I think Holly or Doug III should’ve been in the episode as well, in order to balance out their scenes. We haven’t really gotten Holly’s POV yet since the breakup.

Yeah. Something from the history, which is why I was worried. Hopefully, Paula/Jeanne take the lead on it.

I hope. One thing they could do to help Days rebound is to get rid of all of Ron's recurring villains/lackeys. Rolf, Clyde, Orpheus. All of them.

We definitely saw that today with Brady, and it was really refreshing after the way he's been these past few months. I didn't here anything about GG leaving, so I was really surprised by that. But now I'm beginning to wonder if Rafe is gonna be all set to go but

And we all thought he was gonna be Charles/Dougie LeClair or Peter Blake 😂😂

Tate just be throwing punches all over the place right now 😂😂😂😂 But I'm really looking forward to this storyline and the ripple effect that it's going to have across the canvas. And Bo's too. I have mixed feelings about the "One Stormy Night" thing though. It sounds like a Jamey pitch.

Today was a long one. 48 minutes. There seemed to be a lot more depth and emotion throughout the entire episode, particularly in the Rafe/Jada scenes. Plus, those scenes didn’t feel rushed or treated like a big joke and that’s always a good thing. And Elia Cantu always does a pretty good job when she plays Jada’s scenes as though she’s hurt and heartbroken as opposed to angry and nasty. Rafe accepting a job offer out of town was a surprise too. Is he really leaving? Or is he gonna change his mind at some point? I was a little confused by Gabi today though. She was acting like Philip and Xander took over Dimera like months ago, as opposed to just last week. Gabi asking Brady to intercede with Philip and Xander on her behalf could lead to something interesting happening, especially with the way that he responded to it. For the first time in a long time, he didn’t seem so weak and wimpy. Btw, Gabi’s new office set isn’t bad either lol And I still can’t help but think that EJ is only pretending to try to be a better person but I enjoyed his scenes with Belle. I also enjoyed her scenes with Johnny and the way that she comforted him. Johnny’s confession was a surprise too. And it totally makes sense considering everything that’s happened lately. It could be some pretty good conflict for him and Chanel. The cliffhanger at the end was pretty good too. And I’m glad that it’s going to lead in to the storyline that we’ve all been waiting for since 2023 😂😂 Overall, I’m impressed. Paula/Jeanne really have hit the ground running. This all has me excited for next week already!

As much as I'd love for Kristen to get over Brady, and for that to finally be done with, Idk about her and Xander. If anything, I suspected that Xander might cheat with Stephanie after he finds out that Sarah knew. Maybe even have them be a couple for a little while before he and Sarah find their way back to each other. Stephanie needs her strength back, and that means getting her away from Alex 😂😂

Yeah… I still can’t help but wonder if there was a reason why Ron’s run ended right in the middle of the hospital fundraiser. And I don’t know if these are actual changes in the writing already but I noticed little differences from the very beginning, most notably in the Kayla/Maggie scene and with the music playing in Horton Town Square. There seemed to be more of an interest in Kayla, in general. She was used so much more effectively today. And I don’t think we’ve ever heard that music before either. I also like that the interest in Kayla continued on in her scenes with JJ as well. Her being part of the EJ storyline is a good idea. And Sarah/NuRachel having scenes together? That was a surprise too. I didn’t think Days even remembered that Sarah originally thought Rachel was Baby Mickey. Too soon to make any judgements about NuRachel though, but I will admit that for the first time in a long time, Rachel didn’t seem like a demon spawn. Unfortunately, Kristen hasn’t changed at all but I think that might be more on Stacy Haiduk than the writing. She was exactly the same as she always was in her scenes with EJ today. Btw, I don’t buy that EJ is suddenly deciding to be a better person. The act could be interesting though. But we did get a classic Ron moment, which I actually didn’t mind because Xander looked hot 😍😂😂😂 All in all, today was an improvement over yesterday, but at the same time, I don’t think it’s solely because of the writer change. I’m sure we all know why yesterday was so lousy, and quite honestly, it’s a little sad that Ron went out that way. But I am so looking forward to what happens next. It really is a brand new day.
