  1. Always loved that Steve and Alice scene. Sometimes, I wish soaps still did scenes like that
  2. With how all over the place it was, I honestly don't think so. 1980-1981 was good, imo. But 81-82 seems like a disaster.
  3. James E. Reilly did write Days and Passions at the same time, but they both declined a lot lol I think it can be done, it's just practically impossible to be done well.
  4. I'm pretty sure Lemay wrote L&F for the few months it was on the air. Then, he claimed that while it was on hiatus, the execs. removed him as headwriter of the show "in a justifiable move to protect Another World." He stayed on as consultant though.
  5. I have no idea. His page on Soap Central doesn't say that he made any appearances in 1998, but of course they could be wrong.
  6. I loved COD. That and Jack kidnapping Jennifer from her wedding were my two favorite moments of that year. I binge watched those 1990 episodes not too long ago and even though Emilio and Melissa's song is still stuck in my head lol I thought they were really good. As for Hope, according to the 1998 synopsis on Soap Central, Ernesto immediately delivered her to Stefano after he had kidnapped her so that Stefano could turn her into Princess Gina. The stupidest part of that whole reveal was that the whole cage climax was rewritten. Viewers now had to believe that it wasn't Hope in the cage with Ernesto, it was Princess Gina's daughter Greta.
  7. By Season 4, Steve Kanaly felt like the character of Ray had nothing left to offer, so he was thinking of leaving the show. From what I've heard, it was Larry Hagman who suggested making Ray Jock's son in order to keep SK on.
  8. Thanks for posting! The article was great.
  9. According to Wikipedia, Genie Francis made her debut February 8. Kin Shriner made his on August 2. The Head Writers were either Robert and Eileen Pollock or Richard and Suzanne Holland. There's no dates telling us when the change of writers happened or when Leslie Charleson made her debut. There was one more team in 77, Irving and Tex Elman and then after them, finally Doug Marland took over later on in the year.
  10. You're welcome. Neil pretty much went from woman to woman throughout his entire time on the show.
  11. From what I've read on Jason47's site, there always seemed to be a flirtation between them but they never actually were a couple. Neil was a bit of a cad at that time too.
  12. DAYS' mistake became GH's gain, and in the 80's, DAYS seemed to be doing their best to copy them.
  13. Wow, they actually fired Pat Falken Smith in 1977. How stupid were they. I'm beginning to think that there might have been a lot of panic at NBC around this time. They saw how GH and the other ABC soaps exploded, so they just panicked and ran with any idea that came to mind, not giving enough thought as to whether their ideas were good or not. Sometimes new characters do save a show, but sometimes new characters mess it up even more. That seems to have happened a lot on the NBC soaps, particularly DAYS and AW. I think a lot of that depends on the writer too. Laemmle might have been a failure (which the exception of Liz, from what I've seen of her, I really liked her too), but look at PFS' second stint. She was there only six months and she created some of DAYS' most iconic characters. I believe if there was just more thinking and less panicking by leaderships, producers and writers, DAYS might not have plummeted in the ratings like it did. I also find it hilarious that the writer that broke up Doug and Julie was SSH's own mother. Was she trying to say something to her son in law lol
  14. Great episode! Thanks for posting! What was the reason for the 1980 cast purge? Did NBC think that completely changing Days would have better results then when they tried to completely change AW?
  15. Idk. Actually I only found this channel just by randomly searching.
  16. I stand corrected. S1 of B&B on this channel. https://www.youtube.com/user/rsclassicfanforever/videos
  17. You're welcome. 1991 was a great year on AW, 1992 was alright, but it got a little boring at times.
  18. No, you're not looking for it wrong. Unless they were posted and the uploader set them as "unlisted", there are no complete playlists from May to December 1990 uploaded to YT. There are a handful of episodes and clips uploaded though (Ryan's introduction, Cass and Frankie's first wedding, Jake's shooting).
  19. So, that's why she never made an appearance on Girl Meets World. I always wondered.
  20. The first 20 episodes are available on Youtube. Episode 21-249, if they were uploaded, they may have been taken down.
  21. She hasn't aged a day.
  22. I have to say Eric Martsolf. To me, Travis Schuldt played Ethan too much like a bratty, annoying little kid, whereas Eric Martsolf played him more as a mature adult. In some ways, it was almost like they played two different characters.
  23. I thought Aremid was great too. Right now, I'm working my way through the 1994 unlisted playlist and loving it.
