Today was an improvement over yesterday. There was a lot more depth and maturity in the writing. It really was like night and day. Sami and Belle’s reunion/confrontation was the best part of today. Sami told her a lot of hard truths that I’m glad Belle hasn’t accepted yet. It could lead to some pretty good drama somewhere down the line. And, we got confirmation that Belle knows about Johnny’s conception. Hopefully, that means we’ll get more scenes of Belle trying to figure out why she loves a man who hurt so many members of her family. And I liked that we got an update about Marlena and Steve as well. Sami’s scenes with a comatose EJ are exactly what Belle should have gotten yesterday. Talking about the way that she feels but not treating it like a big joke. I seriously can’t wait for her scenes with Johnny. I also enjoyed Chad and Johnny’s scenes. I liked that Chad was there for him while he raged about his parents. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats about Sami and EJ. And Chad using his own history with his mother in order to get Johnny to come around about EJ was a good idea, even though I hope that Johnny doesn’t forgive EJ yet. He needs to be at odds with him for a very long time. And, I didn’t mind Alex being such a bitch about Philip, but it would work much better if Alex was being written as the villain, instead of the righteous good guy because that still doesn’t work lol and it never will. That’s clearly not RSW’s style 😂😂 And, Sarah does not need to be another character made to look bad in order to make him look good either. But welcome back, Vivian! We’ve missed you too.

As much as I'd like to see Lucas Adams back on a soap, I can't see him as Michael.

Posts like this make me wish that the Internet, and this board existed in the 60s, 70s and 80s, just so that we could read people's initial reactions to characters, storylines, etc. 😂😂 I find it very ironic that, on the day that's exactly two weeks until Ron's last day, we get an episode that's a perfect example of one of the reasons as to why he was fired in the first place 😂

A short one today. Only 31 minutes. Between that, the padding, Philip’s random mention of his fake leg, and the piss poor dialogue, especially in the JJ/Shawn/Kristen/Melinda scenes, I guess that means we know who worked on this episode 🤮🤮 But I also admit, it was a little better than some of the garbage that we’ve seen from him. I did like that Belle admitted her feelings for EJ, even though the way it was done was stupid af. Those scenes should have focused more on Belle/Martha than EJ/Dan. Their final scene was a little better though. Btw, good luck, Philip and Xander 👍 And welcome back, Samantha Gene! We’ve missed you! I guess he’s your new favorite? 😂😂😂😉

While I’m interested in the idea of Samantha considering a career in modeling, I think they’re missing a really good way to cause conflict for Smitty and Martin. There could be some pretty good drama mined from the idea of Smitty supporting Samantha and her career, and Martin being against it because of what could happen to her, how it may make him look, etc., especially since Smitty mentioned that, while researching his article, he learned that some models/influencers sometimes get exploited. Plus, Martin being upset about Samantha’s modeling would make a lot sense than him being upset about Smitty going back to work, which seems to have been completely dropped. They really should be bombarding this couple with conflict, as opposed to short plot points that just get wrapped up in a few episodes. So that when Martin’s big secret is finally revealed, all hell breaks loose. I also think that Leslie and Eva should have a part of the episode in some capacity as well.

A soap being renewed is always a good thing 👍 But it would be nice to get some changes with this renewal too.

Because he's got a heart of gold 😊😂😂 And speaking of that, now I'm starting to wonder if some fans were side-eyeing Doug and Julie back in the 70s, due to their age difference. Wasn't that her 17th birthday? I don't remember. Same here. For me, it's not the age difference, it's the high school thing

Finally, a Tate/Doug III showdown! I’m not really sure why Days started their feud/rivalry before they ever really got to know each other, but whatevs. The gloves came off today and I wish their argument had gone on for a little longer before Holly came in. There’s still a lot of things that they need to argue about and hopefully, we get a lot more of this, and an actual brawl, in the future. The acting, from both of them, seemed better too. They seemed to play off of each other really well. And Doug III still looked hot. Tate looked good too 😍😂😂 I’m totally on board with EJ’s shooting causing problems for JJ and Gabi. JJ confiding everything in Shawn was a good scene and I’m looking forward to seeing what could happen from here. Idk about Kristen’s possible involvement in it though. And, I’ll always love Brady/Belle scenes. The scriptwriter really took a lot of time and put a lot of care into their scenes today and I was impressed with them.

I like him too 😍😂😂 The writing is the biggest reason why I'm so tough on him/Alex.

Lisby Larson did make a few appearances on AW as Paige, in the lead up to Texas' debut, but Paige and Iris didn't meet until Texas, IIRC.

Dimera should've gone belly up years ago. And I think it would be a really nice and refreshing change for Days if Xander, Philip and Alex are able to do it. I wouldn't even mind Johnny joining up with them, as a way of ending Stefano and EJ's "toxic" legacy. Stefano wanted Anderson too. He and Tony eventually got their hands on half of it, but then lost it.

Yeah… I still don’t know about that BTG ripoff establishing shot for the Kiriakis mansion 😂😂😂 But a lot of people did look hot today. And I see that Doug III was looking a little more natural too 😍😂😂😂 I think that there should’ve been more follow up with EJ’s shooting but I’m glad that it wasn’t completely ignored. The things that Kate said did make a lot of sense, even though I don’t think she’s the shooter. And it seemed like we got another dynamic/red herring with Sophia and Tate as well. Speaking of Sophia and Tate, I’m glad that Tate has somebody to confide in again about how he’s feeling. I’m interested in seeing where everything goes from here. NuSophia did ok too. And so did Doug III. And I’m really looking forward to the showdown between him and Tate tomorrow. It’s about time that the feud between the two of them really got off the ground. Plus, in terms of acting, it could be a real test to see what Leo Howard and Peyton Meyer could do. And hopefully, the dream that Stephanie had was more foreshadowing of what I suspect may happen. The fact that it may happen under the new writers (and hopefully not be biased in favor of Alex) makes me even more interested in it. Plus, all the Alex praise and Philip bashing made me a little 🤮 And like I said in the spoiler thread, I like that the Kiriakises are going to take advantage of EJ’s shooting to make their move on Dimera. This is how an umbrella storyline should be. The fallout could be really good.

And y’all jumped on me every time I voiced my concerns about Ron and Jamey 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I agree, this week wasn’t the best but it wasn’t terrible. A lot of the B and C storylines were allowed to build this week, which is a good thing. Even though I do agree that the hospital documentary isn’t a good idea Don’t abandon BTG yet 😂😂

Derek/Hayley was a surprise. And I didn't mind it at all. I'm still not sure about this whole hospital documentary thing though. There had to have been another way to build up Andre/Ashley. As for the episode as a whole, I appreciate that Ron Carlivati seems to be on his best behavior at BTG.

Hopefully, they were allowed a lot of rehearsal time or multiple takes. Carson Boatman said that he and DF were allowed that for the scenes when Johnny confronted EJ.

I hope they do. And not just because of the Ron of it all lol I always like finding out what might've happened on a soap had a writer not left or been fired when they were.
