There have been some boring episodes. And some Ron-like stupid stuff 🤮 But overall, things have improved a lot. It feels like Days again.

So, I guess Remy forgot all about Electra 😂😂 But I am curious to see how one of the most tone deaf straight guys ever is going to write a gay male relationship

Today wasn't as good as yesterday, but there were still a lot of things that I enjoyed. I found Stephanie and Alex pretty interesting today. They actually argued a little lol. And now that Stephanie confessed everything to Alex about Steve, and that he promised not to tell Xander anything about it, this is a pretty good opportunity for conflict for them. Which I really, really hope Days takes this time. Please don't give me that Lucy with the football crap again 😂😂 But yeah... I don't know why they're deciding to revive anything between Johnny and Holly. I never thought that Ron, and the strike writers too, did a good job with Holly getting over her feelings for Johnny, and falling for Tate so quickly, so I can see her having some unresolved feeling for him, but it still doesn't seem like the right move at this point in time. There are better ways to cause problems for Tate/Holly. And to use Johnny and Chanel too. Speaking of Johnny and Chanel, they were sweet today. And I'm not against them possibly trying to adopt Tesoro, but I still think Johnny being at odds with EJ, or even somehow being weaved into the hospital drama would be a better story for them. And, I am interested in hearing Javi's backstory as well. He's becoming more than just Leo's boy and I'm happy to see that. Al did a pretty good job today too.

Holy s*it 😮 I just realized; I was right about how that mf’er Ron Carlivati was going to write Mike Manning’s character in episodes that he broke down. How convenient that the biphobe would write the bisexual actor’s character as selfish or unfeeling 🤬🤬

I was hoping for a little bit more for Martin and Smitty's first love scene... but I admit, those kisses were hot 🔥😍😍 But I am not sure at all about Smitty's decision to continue to keep Martin out of their bedroom. If this is meant to make Smitty the bad guy or something, it's definitely not going to work. Mike Manning killed it again though. And I was completely Team Ted today. This is the most impressed I've been by Keith Robinson since he came on, and I hope that those scenes today have an effect on storylines.

He did do some bad things when he first came on, but I think it was mostly due to him being angry that he couldn't be with Renee. And also, to please Stefano. Renee's and Anna's love was supposed to have reformed him.

I see what some people mean, but at the same time, I would love for them to sit down and watch an episode from the 60s or 70s, (which I'm sure so many of them want to do) just to hear them cry about how boring it is 😂

DAYS: September 2025 Discussion Thread
And this is what's been most improved about Days since the new writers came in: character is key again, as opposed to plot. I said it this morning, we're getting a much better understanding as to who these people are, why they do the things that they do, what they want out of life, etc., and I've been enjoying all of it. Having most of the storylines be dictated by the characters and their actions, instead of a plot point was the right decision. And definitely the change that Days need after years of some really good stuff, but that often got bogged down in plot driven nonsense that had no effect on anybody or anything. And honestly, Deidre better get the Lead Actress Emmy next year because she deserves it. More now than she ever has, IMO.

There were a lot of good scenes today. The theme of family always sticking together played a large part in the episode and I enjoyed that. We got a pretty good understanding of why characters are feeling the way that they do. And, Shawn and JJ were each used very effectively for the first time in a while. Hopefully, writing like this continues. I liked that Shawn comforted Belle about everything that she's been dealing with lately. It's always good when she has someone to talk to because she doesn't really have that many friends lol. Their trip down memory lane was really sweet as well. I just think they need to feature Shawn a lot more. Dropping his relationship with Jada wasn't the right move and I hope that it gets revived, for a while anyway, before Shawn and Belle inevitably reunite. And, we found out why Claire and Theo broke up. I wonder if that has something to do with why he seems a little off. Speaking of Theo, I enjoyed his reunion with JJ and I wonder if the fact that Theo sold his stake in the company that he and JJ founded is going to mean something somewhere down the line, or has something to do with the reason why he seemed so off. I wouldn't mind JJ investigating that. But it was a little bit of an odd choice that Theo's first stop in Salem wasn't Abe, even if Tony was the one who brought him back to Salem, but whatevs, I also enjoyed his reunion with Abe and Paulina. And I'm looking forward to seeing what he's going to bring to the business storyline. Too soon to judge about nuTheo's acting though. JJ having dinner with his cousin Stephanie was a nice surprise as well. I'm glad that he also had someone to talk to. His revelation about feeling smothered by Jack and Jennifer brings up a pretty interesting dynamic that I hope gets explored. And, I also liked that Stephanie is feeling caught between Steve and Alex. It could lead to some good conflict for her. And I loved Maggie and Julie's discussion about grief and how they're always there for each other. Maggie discussing losing Mickey and how she eventually moved on with Victor was also a nice surprise. But I expected Julie to say that she was going to take after Alice and not try to move on with someone else 😂 But it really is too bad that Marlena couldn't have been a part of those scenes though. The three widows discussing their grief together would've made their scenes even nicer. But I'm glad that she confided in Kayla about the dreams, and her worries about her family. And, with Marlena confessing that she's struggling to find out who she is without John, I hope we continue to see that play out onscreen.

Still here for Eva/Tomas/Kat, despite the Alex of it all lol Tomas possibly representing Eva and Leslie, and keeping it a secret from Kat and everybody could lead to something interesting happening. Same can be said for Naomi putting Bill on blast about Dani and Hayley. If you think about it, Hayley seeing how close Bill and Dani became during Chelsea's kidnapping would have been the perfect catalyst for her to fake the pregnancy and the miscarriage.

DAYS: September 2025 Discussion Thread
Today was a bit of a slow one. There was a lot of brotherly bonding today, which I hope doesn't mean that everything is going to be fine from now on. Xander and Philip were the perfect example of this. But I did like that Chad immediately suspected that EJ was up to something as they talked about the hospital renovation. I've had mixed feelings about all this, but I'm curious about what it's going to lead to. Whatever EJ's doing could have a lot of ripple effects across the canvas and drive a lot of storyline. I thought Stephanie was used pretty effectively today as well. Having her be the PR person for both Titan and EJ/the hospital was the right decision. And also shows how unnecessary the whole book thing is lol Xander suspecting that Stephanie was the one who planted the bug, or knows who did, and getting Alex to question her about it could lead to something interesting happening. Which they definitely need right now because they're still so boring. I did see a little chemistry between her and EJ as well. And I'm glad that she was able to change EJ's mind about what he wanted to name the free clinic. And yeah, I stand by what I've suspected about Tony from the beginning. Btw, welcome back, Theo!

BTG/B&B Cross over
But is this really necessary though? With the way B&B (and from what I've heard, Y&R) are like right now, BTG should have absolutely nothing to do with them. And please, no stupid Carlivati-like *wink wink* jokes.

Definitely the writing. Because Jack and Jennifer's points are very valid, but with the way everything is being written, it like they want to make them the bad guys. And it's just not working. He switched the first test that Chad had run to prove that Cat "was" Abigail. The second test that he switched was all a scheme planned by Steve in order to trick Mark into exposing himself as a fraud. Sloan was already gone by the time Mark showed up.

DAYS: September 2025 Discussion Thread
Damn. So all that interest I had in Chad and Cat on Friday just went out the window. Chad, keeping the secret from Cat that he didn't support Mark getting paroled would have been a much better story than him possibly going against Jack and Jennifer and not contesting the parole. Honestly, it kinda makes all three of them look bad. I'm actually starting to wonder that, after years of Chad and Abigail being disregarded, and years of sexual harassment lol, if this was the storyline that prompted Billy Flynn to leave. And while I enjoyed Philip and Xander putting up a united front against Gabi, I hope that this isn't the end of the conflict between the two brothers. There's still a lot of drama that can be mined from that. Drama that can also be manipulated by Gabi or somebody. Btw, @j swift, you were right about EJ and Gwen. I am a little curious about what their ultimate goal is though. If that ends up being the reason, I'm glad they did it. Even though she is Kristen's daughter, it was just so obvious that Ron wrote her like that because he thinks it's funny when the kids are awful, obnoxious little s*its. He did the same thing on GH.

DAYS: September 2025 Discussion Thread
I figured the new writers were just flushing some more of Ron's crap. There was no reason for Rachel to be written like that, even if she was Kristen's child. I'll have to pay closer attention now.
