  1. The show was definitely asking a lot from longtime fans with that one.
  2. Shoot, man, thanks to that damn movie, people were calling me "Uncle Frank" long before any kids were actually born. I feel like I should recognize the actress playing Kate's roommate.
  3. Interesting. When I pitched my idea, I imagined Stacey moving to Pine Valley in 1993. Does your scenario happen in 1995? Would Liza still come back in this timeline?
  4. Thanks for the tag, @DRW50. Interesting to see Gerry Bamman as Kate's doctor two years before playing evil Rev. Ford.
  5. Yup, Janet was recovering from the experimental plastic surgery and dreamt of Trevor, Dixie, Hayley, etc. (and Harold!) recounting her misdeeds. I feel like Stacey could/should have taken Laurel's role on the canvas.
  6. That was great! I was too young to see it originally (it would have given me nightmares BITD, that's for sure). On the other hand, I vividly remember Janet's This Is Your Life nightmare the following year. (Someone at AMC was fond of surreal dream sequences.)
  7. Did Ray Gardner return in 2001? I just remember him from Tad's 1994 visit to Heaven, when he was knocked unconscious after being hit by the Martins' front door, which blew off in the tornado. The 1994 visit, if I remember right, had Jenny, Jesse, Nola Orsini, and Ray. A while back, I joked that the 2001 visit should have had Lauren-Marie Taylor as an extra. A little Easter egg for Loving fans, showing that people from Corinth made it to Heaven, too. Yup, Viki's angel Gilbert (John Fiedler) made some earthly appearances, as late as 1992.
  8. Thank you. I do remember the Heaven sequence getting positive feedback. If I recall, Gillian encountered Jesse, Cindy, Travis, Jeremy, Natalie, and Harold the dog.
  9. The partial episode from 4:04:50 to 4:19:08 is from Friday, Nov. 8. I wish I could be of more help, but in some cases, the episodes seem to be going in reverse order or out of sequence.
  10. I just watched it for the first time. What was the deal with those old people? And why does the husband remind me of Dana Elcar (I know it's not Dana, who was working on MacGyver at this time)?
  11. I'm actually surprised by this. For whatever reason, I assumed that Cassie & Andrew was always going to happen. I was trying to figure out if there was a night that sex, lies and videotape and The Donna Reed Show were both on cable. It'll be nice to have the real Max back.
  12. J.R. and John Ross on that merry go round needs to be a gif.
  13. Nothing against Diane McBain, and her fabulous side hairdo, but Dee Dee is such a poor man's Marilee Stone. I wonder if Fern Fitzgerald was on vacation or otherwise occupied during McBain's two episodes.
  14. I've been making my way through the 1981-82 season, and Donna promoting her book cracked me up. The cover of Sam Culver: The Political Years looks so cheap, like it was a self-publication job. I guess they weren't going to pay for John McIntire's likeness. I initially thought How to Save a Fortune was an inside joke, and if I zoomed in, I'd see it was "written" by Leonard Katzman. Nope, it's an actual book, by Barry Kaye. Geesh, you'd think they would have done this at a nicer venue than the local bargain store.
  15. I know Jerry from Mame.
  16. In honor of the late Alice Hirson, her last scene as Mavis Anderson.
  17. Yeah, no snark* from me, this is awesome. *Unless they do something cutesy and stupid, like have him be Roman's long-lost kid with Lisanne Gardner.
  18. This one I picked up from a long ago YouTube comment. Tracy & Ashton, GH -- Trash. I suppose Penny & Jeff, ATWT, could be "Jenny" or "Peff."
  19. I see. I had a similar experience in 1999, where I thought it would be fun to follow Passions from the start. I've also mentioned how Loving (and later The City and Port Charles) was the one ABC soap that my grandma never got into. Yes, I remember that being discussed.
  20. The City ended two years before Another World did (unless you mean that AW no longer aired in your market). Speaking of airings, I wonder if there was any serious consideration to having Loving air between All My Children and One Life to Live starting in 1984. I think it could have helped Loving, but maybe ABC didn't want another head-to-head with AMC and The Young and the Restless*. And perhaps ABC thought there was too big a risk of viewers skipping Loving and changing to As the World Turns or the second half of Days of Our Lives. *And Search for Tomorrow, but AMC-Y&R would have been the big battle. Still, though, I keep wondering about whether it was mulled, and if the decision was strictly in-house (By ABC only? Did Agnes get a say?) or if there was (wait for it) focus group testing.
  21. Teri was alive in 2002. She could have shown up to display the end credits during Live Week.
  22. Yup, Sid and Linda didn't sleep together. Now I wish I'd have kept track of everybody's relationships.
  23. Finished "Cricket." If I ever met Joan van Ark, my nerdy fan question would be "Did Val and Rusty have sex?" Also, Karen offering Joe her hypothetical eggroll makes me wonder if there was ever a time anyone considered Michele Lee for Gypsy.
