After some decent strides for several months from her, AOC's crew is fùcking up again. If she's smart (and she isn't always) she'll disassociate herself from this and from her CoS who just reignited the Sharice Davids thing.

The increasingly ubiquitous Mckenna Grace (ex-Faith, Y&R) looks to be channeling Harold Ramis' Egon on the set of the new Ghostbusters with Jason and Ivan Reitman, Carrie Coon and Finn Wolfhard.

Originally Billy Clyde was supposed to be Celia's father, or so he claimed. They filmed the scenes but cut them pending a rewrite.

On AMC 2.0 David and Angie got even closer, and Jesse (who became semi-estranged from Angie due to a cover-up while trying to save Cassandra; it was another lie on top of a long list of lies from Jesse at the end of the ABC run) grew deeply insecure about their connection. It was gonna happen, dammit! And IMO it had to come in part from Agnes. She was allegedly heavily involved in the final months on the network, which is when I think Angie gave David an impassioned speech about his being a good man. She was then also involved at Hulu, where I think there was initially a complete writing team turnover. Except for her.

It seemed clear to me they were going for the triangle/quad with Cara/David/Angie/Jesse. Or at least flirting with it for conflict. The bond between David and Angie was first built at the end of the network run, then the revival made it even stronger. I would've been all over that romance.

On a semi-related note of schadenfreude, I saw this coming the instant I heard these actors wanted raises upon renewal a couple weeks ago. Conventional wisdom has been floated that Netflix cut ODAAT because it felt its own show, On My Block, would be equally palatable and/or interchangeable in terms of Latino-centric programming while no longer having to pay out to a third party like ODAAT. And now...

Even I knew Espy was more popular on Y&R than Hasselhoff. Hasselhoff just happened to do the soaps before becoming a megastar.

I totally did not recognize Glenn Scarpelli as the hotel clerk in episode 7 of Season 3 (where Elena and Syd have sex).

Sad.

I like him on the show, and good for him. Adam Hagenbuch (Jimmy) also kind of screams gay to me, but I've been wrong before. I haven't watched the last season yet, I wonder if they've kept leaning towards or away from Max being pre-gay in the scripts. That little beard girlfriend played by Mckenna Grace wasn't fooling anyone.

Maya Hawke is going to be a star. The surprise on Robin left me a little crestfallen for Steve but I still love the character and the relationship. I do hope she plays a role in what now appears to be the beginning of an appropriately slow for the 1980s - something the show has been tinkering with BTS since before Season 1.

Oh God:

I'm just happy for Nafessa Williams, who went from being absolutely dreadful (with admittedly a very poor role) on OLTL to star turns in both BL and Twin Peaks - and her role there was no picnic in her first scene.

I remember the soap press at the time and I honestly have no recollection of them claiming Paul would go on beyond that recurring role. But it's been a very long time, who knows. I think Eve's fate was sealed as a psycho. IMO it was always coming from the beginning of Rena Sofer's run - I was waiting for her to turn nuts from the jump, and I was surprised it took as long as it did. I don't think they would've spared her that; I think she would've continued as a new antagonist on some basis.

I thought Alexandra Paul's character was always clearly a short-term nut. I didn't know there was an alternate finale written. I do know they rushed that romance and happy ending for Jane and Kyle real fast (though I liked it).
