  1. Mueller did not offer any slam dunk nor was he ever going to. He stuck to the facts, was doggedly insistent on referring to his report and did not waver from them. He was "boring". Anyone who watched this expecting a touchdown was foolish, but he did indicate he could not legally have charged Trump with obstruction and that Trump remained open to charges out of office. The political needle has not moved from this hearing, but it was never going to. The media then ran with how the hearing was a "boring disaster" because nobody won new points. But should you despair, this is likely to be a repeat of their embarrassment with their breathless claim that Trump was 'totally exonerated' a few months ago when Mueller first concluded his work, as Chuck Todd is once again trending and getting roasted and ratioed by all for knocking the substance of the hearing and proudly calling it a 'disaster' for Democratic 'optics.' It is not worth getting upset about lazy media takes anymore. They ultimately bow to public opinion, which is why the frame of Trump being 'exonerated' did not stick and why nothing has changed since this morning.
  2. Nice to see Brent Spiner and Jonathan Del Arco (Hugh) with the main cast.
  3. I'm amazed Marina just barely managed to keep her mouth shut.
  4. Well, these are only the first returns confirmations at the moment, but I'd be very surprised if she and the rest don't either in the first season or the second (it's planned to run three years). LeVar Burton said recently he was fairly sure he would at some point. I always wanted Picard and Crusher to get together properly. I know the producers nixed it in the final seasons of TNG, and there was an inexplicable push to pair him off with new women in the films (though they sadly nixed his kiss with Alfre Woodard in First Contact - they were great together). In the TNG books they married and had a son. I hope there is a nod to their relationship, as in the series finale it was said they married (and divorced) in a possible future.
  5. Very happy to have Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, etc. confirmed on top of those in the trailer.
  6. From SDCC: Danai Gurira confirmed her departure in the upcoming season, and the Andrew Lincoln-starring TWD films will play in theaters. (Possibly only in theaters, if I read the announcement right.) IIRC Danai is going to be in them as well.
  7. Yeah, that definitely never happened.
  8. I'm pleased the creative team is returning to cap it off. The new film was quite good.
  9. Shucks:
  10. As a Jew with many issues with Israel and no loyalty to them or love for their policy against Palestine, I have no problem critiquing both them and Omar's past remarks, which I believe often straddled the line of ancient antisemitic dogwhistles pre-dating her lifetime. I don't believe Omar is an antisemite, but I believe she's occasionally used antisemitic language that dates back to at least the turn of the century. I'm not okay with that. That being said, I feel she is a gifted activist with a strong voice who has the potential to become a very effective politician - or to flame out completely. Either way, I feel the attacks against her by the right wing are vile and dangerous and that she should be protected. I can feel many things at once. And yes, I have had dumb kids who think they're lefter than me try to tell me I "cosigned" Omar's death threats by taking exception to her past behavior, well before those attacks began. I'd never do that and I find the current attacks on her repulsive.
  11. It sounds like that case was a shitshow - the phone data deleted, the prosecutor and family unable to keep their stories straight. It's a shame because Spacey is clearly guilty of all that and more.
  12. Lynn Herring (Lucy, GH/PC) just told Soapcentral that DOOL called her about a (new) role the day ABC cancelled PC in 2003. She was upset about the cancellation and chose to retire to her ranch with Wayne Northrop. My suspicion: They wanted her for Bonnie Lockhart.
  13. There's not going to be secession.
  14. Amazingly enough, Trump's latest vile statements about the Dem freshmen have gotten real traction and caused many major outlets to call him racist. I have no idea why this is suddenly the clincher. He did the House a real favor.
  15. I vaguely recall his presence, but Joseph Cross did basically nothing on ATWT AFAIK. He was one of the last of the kid Caseys, rarely seen and even more rarely heard. I know him as a brilliant (and cute) adult character actor. He's in a ton of stuff, including Milk and David Fincher's Mindhunter.
  16. As I said, he just did them a favor:
  17. I thought you didn't even watch the show, Khan!
  18. This is not cute.
