I haven't watched that material since I was a child, but the way I remember it was that while pre-psycho Kristen was invested in by the show, IMO there was never any doubt John and Marlena's connection remained the core of the story. I don't believe Deidre's age was ever a factor. I think they knew what they'd had since the '80s with them and were all in (at the expense of Roman, of course), at least until JER went off the reservation several years later with his Catholic shït and started flirting with John and Hope. -

Yep. Well, there was Boomerang.
Eddie has always fiercely defended his, let's face it, shittier movies. They made bank, he's happy, he makes no apologies. That's his right. I do wish he'd be discerning - he sabotaged his Oscar chances with Dreamgirls, and he has finally another solid shot with Dolemite. Coming 2 America could go either way, but it does have the writers he's worked with since SNL, Blaustein and Sheffield, who did the original and much of the original cast (including AMC's Shari Headley!). So there's that.
Eddie should be back doing that oft-promised standup tour immediately. He had control of that room like nothing I've seen on SNL in a very long time. He controlled the audience too. Live suits him.
I think there was a gentler way to handle it, but Lynch is not known for that when he chooses to do something with his work. He simply does it and that's that. (He has sent video messages, etc. to the Fest in the past.) I am sure Graceland is his idea. There's no way I'd pay those prices though. The full guest list so far, including Sheryl Lee, Chrysta Bell, etc.
Sad, as the Fest has run forever and kept the lamp burning. But Lynch/Frost are not known for delicacy when they choose to make something happen. What is most curious here, of course, is the choice by them and CBS to do this now with no new show announced (yet). Also of note: The ubiquitous Sabrina Sutherland, Lynch's right hand who runs a very tight ship in terms of control or secrecy, will be at the new event with the announced cast.

I think it's been noted, but: Noah Segan (Connor Lockhart, DAYS), who's in all Rian Johnson's films, has a supporting role in Knives Out. Meanwhile: Shari Headley (Mimi, AMC) is confirmed to return for the Coming to America sequel with Eddie Murphy.

I had a feeling this was coming for some time, especially after Corbyn's horrific live interview recently. When pressed again and again on supporting or rejecting Brexit and antisemitism in his party he firmly and resolutely had absolutely nothing to say. I've rarely seen anything that pathetic, let alone from a supposed progressive champion. Our worst on the far left are nowhere near as spineless and tone-deaf. I hope this is a lesson to ours. I have deep sympathy for my British friends, but if I know anything about Britain it's that it can persevere through the darkness. I have no such loyalty for Labour.
