I don't know about totally unbroken, but I first picked up much of ATWT near the start of Marland's run in late '85-January '86 a couple years ago after only watching random bunches of episodes before, and just picked it up again this month seamlessly. You get the culmination of the Doug Cummings story in February sweeps, the Craig/Sierra/Tonio drama with Lucinda, the build of Holden and Lily, the arrival of Meg and slow introduction of Iva, etc. and more. I'm still going. It's amazing stuff. Prior '80s ATWT with the Dobsons, Horgan, Bunim, etc. is a kooky curio to me atm but not my main interest now.

Not going to work. Lauer is still being dragged to hell and back nationwide almost 24 hours later. But you're right that there's an attempt:

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Watching what appears to be Lisa Brown’s debut episode from ‘85 has been a real gift. I’m reminded me of what I discovered when I first did a binge of several months’ worth of episodes from late 85-early 86 a few years back - like Gottlieb and Malone at OLTL in ‘91, Marland moved very fast. Emma came on when, in September of ‘85? Holden in October, Iva in early November. Meg in December or January to play spoiler for Dusty. And by February sweeps they were all about the Snyders, that farm family and Holden ushering in Lily’s sexual awakening in a storm. (Gottlieb and Malone moved even faster at OLTL - Cain Rogan was partly inherited and reinvented from the previous team, but they had Luna in September, Andrew Carpenter in maybe October, Blair as well, then by end of November or December Blair has already made a play for married Cord who then “dies,” and Andrew and Megan’s new relationship- while she is the happily married partner of an absent supercouple who married that same year - is already a major going concern.) What it indicates to me is ultimately, no one knows anything. Marland’s rules are ultimately just guidelines if the writing is there. He certainly did not wait six months to see if the Snyders would work. I remember his original bible floating around online, with a particularly brutal outlined story for Barbara and little Paul. How much of that bible actually came to fruition, and is it still around?

I seem to recall dc doing one of many informative posts about Sears and Haidee Grainger(?). That whole period is fascinating, but most of '90s LOV's turmoil and endless reinvention is to me.

I took my first walk beyond my curb in two months through abandoned Beverly Hills over the weekend (masked, of course). Ain't touched [!@#$%^&*]! It was surreal. People are still mostly doing it right here. Other places, it varies wildly. My industry remains dead, but I'm most worried about friends struggling with their states or jobs' poor decisions elsewhere. Meanwhile:

GH: Classic Thread
Manny Ruiz and his twin the priest(?) were played by Robert LaSardo, a character actor who was hot at the time due to his recurring role as a druglord on nip/tuck. Guza was very fond of emulating primetime and film at the time in the laziest ways by literally hiring the same actors for similar roles, or shamelessly recreating others, like having his reinvented Jerry Jacks played by Roche take on the name "Mr. Craig" the same year the gritty Casino Royale came out. Manny was basically LaSardo's primetime character again. His story got ridiculous and I don't remember what became of him.

We talked about this in the LOV thread, but the way I remember it the black presence in their AMC run was substantial. Not only did they bring back the Hubbards from LOV/TC, but they also had Mario Van Peebles, Cassandra, Dre Woods, etc. all at once. Did I think those stories were genius or often even good, no, but there was evidence of a recurring commitment on their part. I'm sure where the Hubbards were concerned Agnes was also in the mix.

Yes, this thread really needs to get over its addiction to reposting skewed polls and not reading discussion about them. Meanwhile:
