The public response to Biden's speech and initiatives has been majority positive, as has much of the media. But only so far. Corporate media value aggression and bold moves from conservative politicians because they have been conditioned to view Republicans as the stern father-leaders of the true America, and Democrats and progressives/liberals the effete cosmopolitan usurpers whose identifying marks they must constantly strive to shed themselves, by overcorrecting through bad faith critique and false equivalencies. When Democrats make aggressive moves like these, they are attacked relentlessly. That's what you saw on Afghanistan withdrawal, that's what you're seeing from folks like Jake Tapper and WH Press Corps doyenne Zeke Miller, and that's why they persistently demanded (via interrogating the question) Biden promise not to pack the Supreme Court during last year's campaign - which he didn't do. You can expect much more of this if he continues.

This is part of what we had with AMC and OLTL on Hulu, and it's still the future of the genre, medium-wise at least, if it chooses to have a future. BS may not be genius but it's different, at least.

One thing (among many, IMO) that the Snyder/McPherson regime got right is that they should be around as part of the firmament, at least Carrie should. Are they the most exciting characters on Earth - no. But Christie Clark is one of those soap lifer kids who, like Kimberly McCullough or Erin Torpey at OLTL, has a sense of history and a long memory with the audience and a kind of quiet integrity that precedes her and makes her innately believable and sympathetic. Making her a lawyer was smart, whereas it doesn't work at all with Belle who still seems older than most of the cast. Carrie can do a lot on the show.

Is Tripp wearing a Halloween costume a month early? He looks like a kid playing dress-up as a doctor.

A lot of young actors on these shows learn bad habits from the scene partners they admire most or bc of personal relationships off-camera. (See: The GH youths being taught to emulate Benard or Howarth) Chandler is no different. He can be very good or he can [!@#$%^&*] around and it doesn't all come from Smith or anyone else. It's on him to be consistent.

This doesn't quite get to the bit about how Axios works hand in hand with these outfits bc it ultimately sympathizes with conservatives and comes from a breed of journos who were raised and reared in conservative think-tanks, but it's a good takedown.

This is Days. "Fools" is the show's middle name. They went back and got Missy who went full COVID denier, they'll do the same with Smith. I'd love to be wrong but I've watched this show step on its dick about a hundred times and I don't know why people are always shocked and surprised when they [!@#$%^&*] up.

GH also at times looks like a CDC clean room, but yes, it does look better.

If I know Corday and Days they will continue to pursue Freddie until they get him back which, like swapping Cady McClain for Missy Reeves, is a mistake at this point IMO. But I'll be shocked if FS does not return to the role. If you want to retool this show for the streaming age leading with strong faces in key roles is the way to do it.

IIRC they did play it like someone was lying re: John(?) not being Greta's father. But by the time Brash and Cwikly came in she was played out.

I always liked Greta, bad stories and all. I don't expect we'll be seeing her though. I will be both surprised and unsurprised if they get through this without Kristian though. Using Gina this way is classic Ron Carlivati, which he learned from Frank V. at GH and OLTL; gamble that you can get or keep an actor, write the story anyway and then roll the dice.

He's got many sockpuppet accounts. You get used to spotting them. Some more obvious than others.
