  1. Yes, this is what I mean. I have not seen the pilot script, though I have my ways and have been looking for it. It may well be great. But Susan simply saying 'if it happens, I'm in' is a big if with no confirmed commitment from the network yet - it's just the wishes of an actor. It doesn't tell us much that's new about the status of the project.
  2. Again, nice to see Lark out among the folks. Mario Lopez still has comic timing ("I see that") and chemistry with Elizabeth Berkeley and I don't apologize for loving it! Also loving the Showgirls dance move callback Elizabeth does here - I've watched that movie at least 50 times, God help me.
  3. These 1980-81/83 eps are really exceptional so far. You can see how well they wove the classic canvas and the new one, despite a few meh recasts like Vinnie #3. The Marco/Edwina stuff is just fantastic, and the working class/outcast crew of Karen, Kat, Ina Hopkins and Ed just chilling with some beers unpacking it all is very naturalistic for most soaps of the period (or now). Were OLTL around now it would be fun to see Klenck make a brief appearance as Edwina, still a journalist barracuda. She probably wouldn't do it given her current career but who knows; she was happy to talk to Jeff Giles a few years ago. Maybe Edwina had Marco's kid on the sly. It is very surreal to see Julie Montgomery's dewy Samantha in her early appearance in that '77 episode at Karen and Larry's wedding, a teen maybe flirting with Josh Hall, and then going to '80 and seeing her paired with old Asa. Dorian and Karen crackled - I think I've seen Karen talk about her before, but I've never seen them interact (or her or Carla with Clint!). I had a feeling Judith Light would be the one to take it to Robin fully on her level and I was right; she was a match.
  4. That's not what happened here. If you want me to not delight in the alleged dismissal of an actor who's dominated the show for the century thus far and whose boorish BTS behavior has been an issue more than once, including pushing a pyramid scheme onscreen and to fans which should've gotten him fired, you better call a traffic cop.
  5. No, it doesn't. This is a public health issue. I'd push for the removal of anyone who did this, and I was fairly certain until the last 24 hours that Burton was vaccinated despite my distaste for his character onscreen.
  6. Cameron has done well so far, better than I anticipated though I've never disliked him. As a SEAL it is also easy to slot Drew into a law-abiding Jason-style role like the more white hat action heroes GH has often had, from Scorpio and Anna to Frisco and old school Luke, or even Dante and Lucky (neither of whom had their potential fully realized). The issue with the reign of the mob is all of those classic GH archetypes were simply rolled into Jason.
  7. It will hit his ego, though. It did last time; he thought he was too big to be let go. The big CBS/Y&R fanfare over his hiring back in 2012 was in part a sop to his pride. I don't care what gets him out, or for how long, so long as he's gone.
  8. I've been praying it for decades at this point, but as I said, I'm amazed such a bottom line operator would let COVID [!@#$%^&*] up his money.
  9. That's never been a policy around here for OPs..
  10. If you think news of the biggest star on General Hospital and one of the biggest left on daytime (allegedly) being fired for vaccine noncompliance should simply be buried in an larger meta-thread and not get its own OP - or that someone else wouldn't then make one in 10 seconds flat- I don't know what to tell you.
  11. It would be mentioned there, but no, this news deserves its own thread.
  12. I don't know why we're tagging this, but whatever, I started it. It may very well be a SPOILER very shortly. @John, this thread should probably be retitled something re: a rumor about the mandate for now and moved into the other section, if possible.
  13. For those of you playing at home, the rumor (well sourced, for me at least) is that it's - allegedly - I trust my source on this one, but I can't speak for other people's. It is no one above.
  14. It seems the unthinkable may be true. 15 years late!
  15. IIRC, he pre-dated Spinelli on GH. Hogan Sheffer introduced the comic character of Nick very well, and I was super into him and Chelsea. Then they bungled it very, very quickly by having him sleep with Billie, which could've been recovered from, but then it all fell apart. It was clear someone at the show (probably Corday) disdained the character type on a show largely subsisting on generic stud and heroine archetypes. Later Nick became some sort of psycho which I was not invested in at all, though I know people loved Berris' performance. It was all such a waste.
  16. A wake-up call to fight harder works for me, tbh.
  17. Nope. Which was fine by me. I assumed she had gotten back together with Brody, which the ABC finale hinted at. Jessica needed a long break.
  18. I'm pretty sure Horgan/Racina attempted to write some long story for OLTL, as I suspect Agnes and co. did at AMC, despite the intense time crunch of getting those shows together. I don't know how much of the former survived, as the changeover in HWs happened very late, but I do suspect the entire Jeffrey King twist/Triskelion cartel tattoo people arc with Carl Peterson was there from the start - that's Racina's style. I know there were rumors of rewrites re: the Celia story on AMC or the whole thing with Jane the barista's mysterious life constantly getting cut out.
  19. I agree. They should've kept the F-bombs! I believe the PP soaps are still on YT, for now. Someday I'll have to secure a torrent or something.
  20. Today in, well, this:
  21. I don't remember the skeleton children! That would've been cool tbh. It was the day to day writing and execution that was so often amateur level. And the fact that Reilly clearly thought Marlena could just do anything (it was obvious it was her before they revealed it) and it would be fine and make no difference. I still remember people weeping that Reilly's supposed genius-level original plan for the story was denied.
  22. I'd agree. Some of the buildup to the kills was effective, or the occasional setpiece. It certainly got a lot of attention and buzz. But I've never forgotten a) how much it was played for laughs while being scripted to the absolute lowest common denominator, and b) how much certain folks who grew up watching Reilly DAYS insisted he could do no wrong and that this was all great soap opera. It was shít, and it was obvious at the time. You can create buzz and do a big, crazy storyline like that one - I love slasher movies! - without turning everything onscreen into a complete joke. Melaswen being very stupid does not negate the stupidity and folly of the actual execution of the Stalker storyline before it. Sure, I watched quite a lot of it. But it made absolutely no sense before, during and after. And of course, once again, it was all the DiMeras' fault. Zzzz.
