  1. That happens a little bit into The City’s run, as both characters don’t start on The City until a number of episodes in, and even then their first appearances are staggered to begin with.
  2. I believe it will include Lisa Peluso. I was watching the first reunion live, and she actually commented from her real estate account in the Youtube chat at the time that she wanted to participate in another one of these.
  3. According to this: https://soapoperadvdlist.webs.com/search-for-tomorrow, Rod Arrants left around May/June 1984. There is another episode online somewhere from around that time that has a really sweet Travis/TR scene, just before he gets called out (I think this is the lead up to TR’s kidnapping).
  4. Was Gwen Sherman related to Mitchell Sherman on Y&R? Or was that pure coincidence?
  5. Many thanks as always @victoria foxton 😁
  6. Based on the limited amount of knowledge I have about US Presidents and First Ladies, I would dare say this is unprecedented, much like Trump’s presidency really.
  7. Thank you so so much. This just answered a LOT of plot questions for me. It didn’t even occur to me until I read those recaps that Bela was the final person that Wendy saw before she disappeared, as well as him being the creepy head guy during the circus stuff with Ryder/Danny/TR. I now know what you meant about him having a dark side (which obviously they toned down A LOT in the final months). It also disappoints me a bit that not more fuss was made about Wendy’s disappearance apart from the obvious loose ends - that seemed to fade away after a few weeks. Incidentally, another question... how did Stephanie die?
  8. You definitely weren’t reading into it. There was an episode from Thanksgiving 1986 where Jo was struggling just after the whole Ella ordeal, and finally she just broke down completely just as Stu walked in. Was a very touching scene with the two of them.
  9. I still cannot believe they killed off Suzy so close to the cancellation. Actually, how far ahead did NBC/P&G announce that SFT was being cancelled? I agree on the Bela/Sunni stuff, but it was kinda cute to watch at the same time. It took me ages to realise that was Lee Godart playing Bela though (❤️). Ella Hobbs was deranged AF. But I guess being so loyal to someone as evil as Judge Henderson (with so little in return) would drive anyone mad. I also agree it did feel bizarre without the likes of Stephanie, Wendy et al.
  10. Thank you so much for clarifying this. Incidentally I was just watching the final 30 episodes of SFT (the McLearys in Ireland storyline), and I actually loved how focused it was. It dragged out a bit, but it was wonderful storytelling on its own. Such a shame it couldn’t continue on.
  11. Not being all too familiar with SFT’s history, I’m assuming the Janet being mentioned here is Liza’s mother? And from the surname, was she related to Stu in some way? Also, what was Warren Carter’s backstory when he first came to Henderson?
  12. https://classicsodloving.tumblr.com/ Not sure if you guys are aware of this link, but it’s one that I found ages ago, and it’s quite detailed from a weekly perspective.
  13. Those were some lovely episodes of SFT. Thanks for linking these! Honestly the contrast between Maree Cheatham’s and Louise Shaffer’s portrayals of Stephanie are so stark. Cheatham plays Stephanie with such cunning yet still seeming human at the same time. From what I’ve seen of Shaffer’s Stephanie, she was just always way over the top with her portrayal, to the point where I sometimes cringe. Always a pleasure to see young Lisa Peluso here. It would be amazing if there were any SFT episodes with her from 1977-82 that would emerge, so we could see just how much she progressed as she evolved into adulthood. Lastly, who is this actress playing Suzy here? And how long was she on for?
  14. Curious to know what kind of thoughts were being alluded to here. What exactly was JER hoping to communicate?
  15. I am so sorry, I did not mean to make that worse for you!
  16. I posted this in the DAYS classic thread the other day, but thought would do it here as well, if only for you guys to watch the first scene of this - a recently-turned-16yo Tracey Bregman in her first soap role as Donna Craig on DAYS. The talent shown here is amazing and goes to show she could certainly handle what would come her way 4 years later when she got her signature role on Y&R as Lauren. The contrast between the two characters couldn’t be more stark.
  17. That was something else that was bothering me the other day. Did Dina and Traci have much interaction back on Dina’s original run in the 80s? From the episodes I’ve seen from the 80s, Dina has interactions only with John, Jack and Ashley. It’s almost as though the Dina/Traci relationship was non-existent back then. Funnily enough I recall a synopsis update from 1996 that I read years ago about the reactions of the Abbott kids when John and Dina announced their plans to remarry: ”Jack smiled, Traci didn’t, and Ashley stormed out.” Such a beautiful summation of Dina’s relationship with her kids.
  18. First scene in this features a 16-year-old Tracey Bregman (pre-Y&R) playing Donna Craig. So weird to see her so young, and yet also marvellous to realise how far she has come with her soap career. She plays such a different character here compared to what would later come along with the role of Lauren Fenmore.
  19. Sounds like a Grindr date... 😏
  20. LOL that sounds like the start of a soap opera storyline... “the mystery of Box 347”
  21. *sigh* AMC should still be on air. It certainly held its own with the others in the Top 5 (which incidentally are still on air today). Actually on a related note, was it also the 90s where B&B well and truly snatched #2 from DAYS?
  22. The climax of the whole storyline came during summer 1997 (Susan Banks, the secret room, etc). So one would expect DAYS ratings to have peaked during this period if they sustained everyone from Aremid, Paris, etc.
  23. Thanks heaps for this. It’s just weird that with all of the 1993-1995 episodes uploaded thus far, none have featured them together, and I’m interested to see what the chemistry was like between Robert Tyler and Phillip Brown.
