There's also a theory going around that this is a red herring from the FBI to distract the Trump camp and lull them into a false sense of security, before the real stuff comes out.

Oh don't get me started. It is a long convoluted tale, but essentially the Australian Government does not want any refugees who attempt to come by boat to land on Australian soil. So every time this happens, the refugees are sent to offshore processing centres, and are told that they can either go back to where they came from (seriously), or otherwise be onforwarded to another country that would be willing to take them. IMO, it is f***ing inhumane, but unfortunately with the conservative government we have right now, there is no chance of this being overturned in the near future.

I'm based in Melbourne, Australia, and I was fortunate enough to have visited the US for the first time in August last year when I went to Seattle to see a couple of friends up there. Even then, immigration going through LAX was akin to being interrogated for first degree murder. And I'm glad it was Seattle I got to experience for my first US visit, as it is honestly one of the most socially progressive cities in the USA from what I have read. With Trump's election, I can firmly say that I will not be going back to the USA anytime soon, particularly while he is President.

Regardless of who's getting involved where, it's worth it just to see Trump, Conway et al have complete meltdowns online as has already started to happen. This is election soap opera at its finest.

So thus far, they've raised the $2.5mil needed to file the recount requests in all 3 states. They now have a new goal of $4.5mil, which is aimed to cover attorney's fees. They also noted that they would require additional funds on top of this to cover costs of the statewide recount observers throughout the 3 states. Oh hell no! It would be popcorn galore to see The Orange One go completely apes**t.

In case this hasn't been noted yet... https://jillstein.nationbuilder.com/recount At time of writing, already $2.4mil of the $2.5mil required had been raised. First deadline is day after Thanksgiving (for WI). MI deadline is Monday 28th, PA deadline is Wednesday 30th. Things could get very interesting indeed... UPDATE: Target of $2.5mil now reached, so all recounts are funded and ready to be filed! Here we go...

I've switched off all news media on FB (Guardian, Age, SMH, you name it). The gloating would be totally unbearable. I'm thankful I live in a progressive city like Melbourne when this crap would not be tolerated whatsoever.

It has been a struggle in the last few days to see a lot of negativity and condescension popping up all around social media. One of the examples I've seen came from not a Trump supporter, but a Bernie one... As some background, she thinks that, firstly, Bernie was robbed of the DNC nomination (this can be debated until the cows come home, rightly or wrongly). She also buys into the whole Hillary-is-a-criminal meme stuff, but hates Trump with a passion. When news started coming up about the protests around the US against Trump's election, she totally lost it and said that she couldn't understand why people were so upset about Hillary not getting elected (Bernie would have won, etc etc). And she went to say that those who were hit the hardest by the election result (some to the point where they actually felt ill and couldn't go to work/school the next day) needed to "GROW A F***ING PAIR AND SUCK IT UP!!". And this was coming from a woman who has Native American heritage. The complete lack of empathy on her part just horrified me to the bone and I actually had to say to her "maybe just back off a little bit, these people have been hit really hard and they need to grieve. At least allow them that space to do that". But that fell on deaf ears. I'm thankful for places like Pantsuit Nation which has been bringing people together with their stories of inspiration and hope (but also as a safe space for people to vent and let their feelings show at a time where we need to support each other together).

^^ That article dates back to 2007. Since then, there have been 11 other states that have ratified this. There are also a couple of states where legislation is pending for this. Nowhere near 270 votes yet, but getting there.

Seeing the above posts, I'm feeling in a bit of a conspiracy theory mood myself, so let's expand on that a little.... Suppose the plan was to infiltrate the voting systems to "rig" them to make it a close contest but still have Hillary winning, thus lending credence to Trump and co's narrative. But what if the plan went a little skewif and overinflated Trump's vote so that he won the states that he wasn't meant to (ie. MI, WI and PA)? That would be why Trump seems somewhat shell shocked right now and unsure of what to do - because the plan wasn't meant for him to win in the first place. I know it's all fantasy and stuff, but sometimes truth is stranger than fiction...

How coincidental that it has now been pretty much exactly TEN YEARS since these episodes originally aired! Crazy times indeed! Thank you for posting this! I watched this last night, and it was a joy to watch. A few questions and observations that arose for me after this: So Nikki was pregnant with Jack's baby but for some reason didn't actually want the baby (was it because she still wanted Victor?). Also, was this the baby that she lost in the riding accident that in turn caused her to become addicted to pain killers? Traci coming back to claim Brad, but he was dating Ashley. So eager to find out what happened at that dinner date (did Brad and/or Ashley end up telling Traci about the two of them?) Danny being set up by the drug stash - correct me if I'm wrong, but this was one of David Kimble's devious plans? Also, was it explained what was with that detective's attitude towards musicians in general? (that came across really suss to me). Rex and Leanna???? They were a thing??? Jill, John and Kay. It was actually nice to see Jill and John trying to reconnect and reconsider getting back together. I know they eventually remarried 2-3 years later, but did anything come between them in the meantime? And that conversation between John and Ashley - so beautiful to see Ashley be happy for her dad and supportive of his choices. Your very welcome! I'm working on getting some more dates as we speak......there's some more 1993 that I saw was newly listed from my usual seller that I have been wanting to get so I hope to get those dates soon! This was the baby that Nikki lost while riding the horse leading to her addiction....(I posted the October 1990 episodes showing all that) I think she wanted the baby but it was more of wanting Victor back more.....if wasn't really till after this miscarriage she developed real feelings for Jack as he had already done too....(at least for a couple years) I know Traci found out eventually, but I don't have any dates showing how she did.......hopefully down the road....I personally would have stayed with Brad if I were Ashley, but I always thought Brenda Epperson and Don Diamont looked hot together, LOL Yes David framed Danny to prevent him from going to Newark with Cricket.....He was afraid that while they were originally going there to get engaged, they were also going there to fix Nina's brooch (or something like that) that David had given Nina as a wedding gift.....the brooch originally belonged to David's first wife who he killed and I guess he figured that Danny and Cricket would uncover evidence from the Brooch that it was originally from his first dead wife, totally busting David in the process.....(I might be missing some details but it's been a while since I watched the episodes LOL) I'm totally with you with that detective.....ugh......he's such a smug SOB.......I know this was an example of Bill Bell showing backlash people can get, but he did it sometimes in such a way where he makes all those side characters come out like jerks....and what annoys me is that I don't think this dude even apologized to Danny after he was cleared of the charges.....not that he wouldn't still feel like he had too cause of his opinion of rock and roll (which in a way is understandable especially from that time) but he was just a prick to all of them........I don't know why but it always annoys me when you have those type of characters who always (mostly recurring lawyers/detectives) go after all the good guys and never realizing or at least the show letting them realize they have been doped by the bad guys.......This detective never knowing (at least not in my episodes) Danny was framed and then that nasty Glenn Richards guy who went after Nina for shooting David. Thanks for the reply. Always great to know some of the backstory behind these episodes!

I always wonder why Jill felt so detached from her son like that in the early years... Very heart breaking to watch at times. I'm also guessing that Lorie's departure was when Leslie and Lance got engaged and she went on that cruise that Victor organised? Thank you for all those answers above! A lot of pieces are starting to make sense now :) I would LOVE to see the storyline with the reveal of Brent Davis as Ashley's father, particularly the interactions of Ashley and Dina (that would have been dynamite to watch at the time, especially from Eileen Davidson). When you say "being part of an ensemble" in this context, do you mean that Brenda just didn't like being a team player? Incidentally I am curious to know whether Deborah Adair and Jamie Lyn Bauer had any scenes together on Y&R in the early 80s. As many DOOL fans here would know, they played enemies in the early 90s in the form of Kate Roberts and Laura Horton (and I loved that storyline BTW, even though it was a complete retcon of an earlier storyline). It also brings to mind whether there was still any acknowledgement of the sibling relationship between Snapper and Jill at that stage (early 80s). David Hasselhoff and Deborah Adair would have been fascinating to watch. Even Hasselhoff and Dickson to another extent.

This is a crazy set of clips! Thank you so much for posting these! Some things for me that sprung to mind when watching (and also some questions that popped up): All the stuff with Eve Howard! I had no idea Julia Newman was involved in this as well! Quick few questions... What was going on with Victor's supposed "death" in those clips? Was he faking it for some reason? I loved that confrontation between Nikki and Eve - that was pure soap. Lorie Brooks and Vanessa Prentiss! And the courtroom scenes! So full on! Poor Lucas though Was Lance still on at this stage? On a related note, a farewell scene between Stuart and Leslie. Was this Leslie's final farewell from Y&R? The scenes with Jill and little Phillip - you could see the seeds being sown already for all the late 80s stuff with him, Cricket and Nina. Sounds like Phillip already hated his mother a great deal even as a young kid. It was implied that Jill had had a few boyfriends prior to that - was that actually the case? As an aside, very bizarre seeing Deborah Adair playing Jill here - quite understated, very human in fact (compared to what we would later see in the compilation with Brenda Dickson). Still on Jill for a moment - what was the story behind her and Stuart Brooks?? And also really fascinating to compare 70s Brenda with 80s Brenda in those clips? All the scenes with Dina, particularly against Brenda Jill. But the stuff that really stood out for me here was Dina and Ashley. Geez, Ashley HATED her mother with a passion, particularly that hospital room scene (I'm guessing Tracy was in the bed? What was the story there?) I also had no idea that Danny Romalotti was even on back in those days - and in storyline with Patti Williams?? I must admit I had a big WTF moment when I saw that clip with Michael Damian and Andrea Evans. I gather it was Andrea's Patti that shot Jack. But it looked like it was a different Patti that married Jack in the first place (and was that Danny looking on wistfully in the crowd during the wedding ceremony)? Speaking of wedding ceremonies, lovely to see snippets of Victor/Nikki #1. Side question: had Ashley become involved with the storyline by that stage? Nikki cradling Victoria after she fell down the stairs - so sad! And with Jack coming to the rescue afterwards! And lastly, Jill's car accident and Jack coming to her rescue - was that the lead up to THE hook-up scene with the Lindsay Wells photo and ensuing Katherine blackmail? Once again, a mega thank you for all these clips! Amazing to watch :)

That is indeed true, but at the same time, let's not forget that HB essentially bribed Reva into marrying him as he saw she was getting too close to Josh and he wanted her for himself. In saying that though, I believe HB is the only Lewis that accepted Reva for whom she truly was as a person (flaws and all) and did not judge her like everyone else did. Also, the impression I got from the late '83/early '84 stuff with Reva was that her character was intended to be a caricature more than anything else, however she gained so much popularity with the audience (not in the least due to Kim Zimmer's amazing work in bringing Reva alive) that the writers started to flesh out her character and past with the Lewises a lot more. There is one awesome scene from the Valentine's Day Masquerade Ball in Feb '84 where Reva and Vanessa teamed up to lock Billy's date away in the storage cupboard. I personally got a kick from watching that, and later observed a number of really heartfelt scenes between those two, particularly when Vanessa was starting to drift away from Billy due to his obsession with getting rid of Reva. Did Reva and Vanessa interact much together after that initial period of '84/'85?
