Here's a 1971 photo of Audrey Peters and Ron Tomme with SFT's Mary Stuart and Larry Haines. I'm guessing that they were celebrating the 20th anniversary of both shows (which debuted September 1951).

I thought 1988 was a pretty decent year, particularly October on. I think the writing didn't truly fall apart until 1991.

I believe that goes back to when they were both on AMC in the 1980s. He was interested in her and she didn't reciprocate. That's all I know.

Yeah, it's just not fun to watch. The original show had such better writing and continuity. With such a great cast, you'd think the writing would be up to par.
