Could Richard Avery have been anything else BUT a lawyer? I can just picture him literally chasing ambulances. LOL

Not to be picky, but that would be Fraulein (Miss) Werner. "Herr" is German for "Mister". (Sorry, I come from strong German stock on both sides of my family!!) Yes - Matt, Maggie, Althea and Nick are definitely the Fab Four of Hope Memorial. After the crisis had passed, I kept cracking up at Carolee's Jimmy Cagney references. Liz, forget Steve, give the extra ticket to Carolee and have a fun girls' night out. Better yet, exchange the tickets for a round trip on the Clue Bus.

Today's episodes were very calm - kind of a welcome respite from the tense drama featured all week. High points - the Drs. Powers, Althea and Nick having a collective "awwwwwwwwwwww" for "poor" Steve all by himself in the clinic, who hasn't had a lunch break or any break of any kind!! (I probably would have joined in. LOL!) Matt and Maggie reaffirming their love in both episodes. Althea and Nick in the clinic when she tends to his wound. Those two have totally sucked me in. Althea, let the poor man kiss you already!! Just look in those big brown eyes and see how much he loves you!! (Who wouldn't want someone they love to look at them the way Nick looks at Althea?) I had to giggle when Carolee, so happy everything turned out OK, turned to leave Dr. Powers' office after taking dictation and tripped. That's so totally something that would happen to me. LOL!! Liz, wake up and smell the coffee!!! The thrill is gone for Dr. Aldrich as far as you are concerned. I wish that Shout! Factory (the DVD company that has completed many abandoned series) would get on this.

Yup!! Speaking of which, I wonder when/if we'll ever see Nathan Bunker again. I hope so!! I want to see him walk!! I wonder if Ed will be called into emergency service outside of the lab, to help with whatever happened at the end of the second episode. Maggie will obviously be too distraught.

Not to mention when they were gripping each others' hands while sitting on the bench. That was really sweet, too. Carolee already knew that Ralph was a cuckoo bird - and had warned him he was lucky she hadn't called the police after he tried to sneak Lila out of the hospital. I wonder why she didn't follow her gut instinct and call the cops after the three doctors had been in there with Ralph for over an hour. I wish Nathan Bunker had been there to take Ralph on!!!!

OK, one of my biggest pet peeves is misspellings and other errors that show up in print (though some of them can be rather funny, as evidenced by the success of Jay Leno's "Headlines" for so many years). Macdonald Carey and his "finance" go out on the town? Who was minding the store there? (Don't mind my ranting - I have worked in proofreading and editing professionally, so naturally that was the first thing that caught my eye!!)

Maybe it is on the Hallmark website or YouTube?

Yes, Ralph is definitely a few fries short of a Happy Meal. Still, his crushing grief is very evident - which is why Matt, Althea and even Nick can be patient with him. I was practically screaming at Maggie and Carolee to CALL THE POLICE!!!!!! The look of shock and horror on Maggie's face at the end of episode 2 was absolutely chilling. Bethel just nailed it.

Great photo, though as usual, Joan looks kind of scary. (Why did she have to put herself through so much plastic surgery?) Still, it's great to see the gang back together again, and I'm sure it will be a fun show. (KL made its world debut just three months after I did, LOL.)

Yes - and like his character, Gerald Gordon was born and raised in Chicago. I guess this brother was the father of Rico, Nick's nephew who also becomes a doctor - or did they have any other siblings? Yes, their moment when Althea says to Nick that he's always there for her was so sweet. I love the look he gets on his face at moments like that - shy, a little embarrassed but always pleased. I also love how gentle he is with her. No wonder those two were such a popular couple. I'm so glad that Elizabeth Hubbard said in that recent interview that she and Gerald Gordon were good friends in real life and remained so for years after the show had gone off the air. I never thought of the GWTW angle concerning Steve and Karen, but there are sure some parallels. Maggie, unlike Melanie, has her eyes wide open - and Matt isn't a weak man like Ashley Wilkes, though he sure has blinders on when it comes to his mentor's daughter. In the first episode where Ralph Anderson must be told the tragic news, I was sure he'd start screaming at Matt and fighting him. He didn't but just asked to see her. Then the second episode began with Althea and Nick coming back to the hospital from Lila's funeral. Boy, did Steve have a lot of gall or what? Liz is nagging him to go out with her, he tries to shoo her away as if she was a fly, and then he finally "happily" accepts just as he sees Karen walk back into the clinic. I wonder what his cousin John Rice would do if he was in the country and found out about the situation. It's been proven that John knows how to treat a lady!!!

OH. MY. GOSH. Both episodes ended on a cliffhanger, but I was honestly thrown by what happened at the end of episode 2. My jaw actually dropped - I was so not expecting it, although we all should have. We did get to see the Odd Trio in the lab for the first time together - Nick, Martha and Ed. Ed also runs into an old friend.

Y&R: Old Articles
Thank you all for your insights on Nina/Cassandra!! She was born in Oslo, Norway, so she definitely has the European beauty going on. She joined the cast of SB and was on that show for about a year until its cancellation, so I wonder why she never went back to Y&R after that - either as a not-so-dead Cassandra or a new character.
