Conrad Roberts has just been heartbreaking as Ed the past few episodes, as have his screen partners. This is truly the type of story and acting that soaps are supposed to be made of!!

Kristian Alfonso's Pilar seems to be universally reviled. Was it just because the character ate up so much screen time, or was she just poorly written?

I believe JVA was only on for a short time - 1969-70, if I'm not mistaken.

With the exceptions of Jacquie Courtney and Susan Harney, I have never seen any of the other Alices in the few YT clips available - so I will take your word for it.

I don't have the exact airdates, but Conrad Roberts made his debut as Ed towards the end of March 1968. Zaida Coles as Anna began sometime in June 1968, I believe.

I wonder if he would have had any chemistry with the actress playing Alice then, as Jacquie was still on OLTL.

I just hope this Liz/Townsend story ends soon - compared to the Ed/Anna drama, it doesn't even come close to being riveting.

I read an old article that after George Reinholt was let go from AW in 1975, Lin Bolen offered him a role on The Doctors. That same year, on that show, Gerald Gordon (Dr. Nick Bellini) was leaving to head West - though he did reprise the role briefly in 1976. Do you think that NBC would have cast GR as sort of a Nick replacement or basically Steve Frame as a doctor? Of course, all that became moot at GR signed with OLTL on ABC.
