She was so much more fun as a schemer. They tried to make Katherine into a sympathetic ingenue with Stefan and it was no fun to watch. Especially after he accidentally shot her and she was crippled. Who exactly was asking for those two to get together??? 🤔

I thought it was 1999, right around the point where the recast happened. Of course, I could be wrong. Oh, and Katherine was also with Ned!! Lois popped out of the cake at Katherine's birthday party to greet "the OTHER Mrs. Ned Ashton". 😂 ETA: Thank you for clarifying with video, @victoria foxton. I was watching every day then and I don't recall that at all!!

I can't believe I had forgotten about Katherine with Nikolas!! Though I do believe that was after Tyler had left and the role was recast, so I wasn't paying as much attention. Tyler did, of course, come back to GH a few years later. I know his Nikolas had a crush on Katherine but I don't think they were ever together. Can someone confirm this? P.S. You are right that Tom was not with Katherine. I was thinking of Felicia. *smacks forehead*

I think Todd McKee is only a couple of years younger than Matt Ashford, so I could see that. I never saw his work on B&B, but I thought he was one of the most underrated performers on SB. He made it look so easy.

I actually first saw MBE as Katherine. She did a really good job selling the dark sides of the character, and of course every Katherine/Lucy scene was a treat. As far as love interests go, I remember her and Stefan, of course. I think she and Mac were engaged at some point. Wasn't she also with Tom?

Oddly enough, I thought the only pairing he ever had that worked was with Natalia Livingston's Emily. I could see chemistry between them from their first scene (and it spilled over into real life for awhile).

I looked it up, but haven't been able to find an explanation. His final AW airdate was just shy of two years from his first, so maybe he only signed a two-year deal and decided to leave as soon as it was up. I don't know.

It's a shame because she looked perfectly fine before, and she's only 44. Oh well.

Those are great ideas. Though of course, if Michael Park were to be cast on GH in any role it would be inevitable that he'd be paired up again with Maura West.
