Y&R: Ed Scott Returns As Senior Producer
Not just the lack of the overnight set crew, but there's where they got into the habit of making the scenes very static (because they were literally holding a rope so they'd stay six feet apart) and they kept a lot of that awkward staging well after protocols were lifted. It can be really apparent in group scenes. Then you add in the lack of extras, also a holdover from COVID. They seem to have enough money to make sets (or redress them) when they want to... the Italian palazzo for Victoria and Ashland's wedding, Ashley's apartment in France, Aunt Jordan's house. But once they're up they use them and then they come down. The problem is with switching sets around. They need to do more taping out of order like GH does so they can get more use out of each time the set is up. That's really what I want here, is for Y&R to look at least as good as GH. I'm not looking for any miracles.

I'd forgotten this. That was such a weird statement from Mulcahey. Feels like it was written by CBS.

I don't see why they'd sell the rights rather than license them (and who would be in the market to purchase them?). They must still own the rights to whichever ones have been used in reruns and clip shows, at least as of the date the rerun aired.

I wonder if JG spends his days wandering between coffee shops, the park, and restaurants like his characters.

Cautiously optimistic here. He must have been reasonably happy and well paid at B&B to stay so long, so this doesn't feel like he wanted to leave or they're shifting people around so they can be on a different budget (cough Steve Kent cough). It seems to indicate a desire to improve production, which is desperately needed with BTG coming. BTG could get eyeballs who haven't watched CBS Daytime in many years to check in, and the current state of Y&R is an embarrassment.

DAYS: R.I.P. Drake Hogestyn (John Black, Days of our Lives)
I didn't read that comment that way. I took it as just being curious to know what she said if she chose to post.

That clip has been in the Y&R vault for a while. I believe it was originally from the Soap Hunks website. I'd been looking for it for years, and an anonymous angel sent it to me on DVD with some other goodies, and I put it in the vault over a year ago. Just want to make sure credit goes to the original people that archived and saved it (not referring to myself). Also, another kind anonymous person posted the full episode, and the lead up/Phillip's accident episodes in French in the vault. It's much easier to watch on YouTube, but it's a shame that the vault has been full and not accepting uploads for so long, because lots of rare surprises showed up there. It is a beautiful scene for sure. I always felt sorry for Jill, being the only person in that room with no one supporting her. No wonder she lashed out.

I wonder if that's supposed to be the entrance to the ranch? Matches the general decor.

Yeah, I had not realized it at all until I noticed it in this newly posted 1992 episode. I looked at the recap of the arrival of Todd Bridges Juice and there was a nod to a shared history with Dru, which I'd always assumed was just something they made up when they hired Todd Bridges Those were some great episodes in 2002 when Dru and Lily (Christel Khalil's debut) returned from Paris to visit Neil, during his alcoholic stage, and instead ended up subject to a home invasion by Juice, and then Neil comes home a mess and is humiliated for his daughter to see him that way. Lily was completely traumatized and it was a strong debut for her and amazing performances from VR and KSJ of course.
