He's adorable, but (1) don't wear tan to a black tie event, (2) if you are going to wear tan, at least wear a suit, (3) unless he's got a Banana Republic contract, nobody needs to know who made the jacket.

DAYS: June 2024 Spoilers
you may be correct here's Xander in a white shirt holding a gun to Konstantin but literally the next second, Konstantin is saying 'he's not your father' to a guy in a blue shirt For a con artist, Konstantin has zero chill. Like maybe don't admit to everything the second you get caught dude.

Exactly, but it is surprising how often it occurred. Someone always pops in to say when their favorite went to a new soap, they followed them. But, anecdotes are not data, and it rarely equaled ratings, or creative, success. I'm not talking actors simply switching shows, but specifically stunt casting from a cancelled show.

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
I should start a list because Marcy Walker at GL in 1993 is another example of a trend that's never worked; stunt casting an actor from a recently cancelled soap. Despite the actor's talent, and supposed popularity, if they didn't bring the ratings to their old show, history has shown that don't bring additional fans to their new show. For example, Larkin Malloy (EON to GL), Beth Ehlers (GL to AMC), Ricky Paull Goldin (AW to GL), and dozens of others, have rarely been the draw that they were hyped to be.

I still suspect that she's somehow also connected to Konstantin. Xander's animosity toward him and the preview for next week seem to be clues. She's the correct age for his dead daughter, but if she's alive, Konstantin's anger toward Victor seems unnecessary. Unless, he doesn't know she survived. I'm waiting for the day that Xander, Sarah, and baby Victoria get to move out of that one-room apartment and into the mansion. And I hope he tosses out Alex and all his wooden bead bracelets. 😁 It's also kind of funny that if Sarah is Maggie's daughter, and Xander is Victor's son, once again step-siblings have been married in Salem (technically speaking).

ABC Daytime
And, ironically, now GH episodes are around 42 minutes with commercials 🙄

BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos
Inspired by the picture on MVJ's wall, how good would a three family structure based a girl group be? You have one that married well and is rich, one who divorced the head of the record company and is middle class, and one who married her high school sweetheart and is lower middle class. Bonus points, if the name of the girl group had something to do with gates. For example, their hit song was the Gates of my Heart.

ABC Daytime
I don't recall the time when the soaps were 45 minutes, so what filled the extra time in the hour? Or was AMC a half hour with OLTL and GH totally 90 minutes, so it was a two-hour block? It is intriguing that 45 minutes seems like a random amount of time, given that prime-time was traditionally filled with 30 or 60 minutes shows.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
I agree, the culture of nationalism during the Reagan Era would have frowned upon US spies who working were against the government's interest. Which is why he got the CEA, the WSB, and the ISA on various soaps in the 1980s.

DAYS: June 2024 Spoilers
Is Konstantin saying, “Victor isn't your father”? I'm interested to know how the subject even comes up between him and Xander. Unless it's a fake-out. I predict Xander's mom is Konstantin's daughter. And he's going to say, “Victor isn't your father, you're my grandson.”

@carolineg or @AbcNbc247 - was the point of Sarah showing Bonnie her phone so we as the audience wouldn't be tipped off that her name is similar to Alex's Mother's name by not saying it out loud? I missed if they've said Xander's Mother's name since they've started talking about her. But, since the forged letter about Alex's paternity was supposedly signed by Angelica Devereaux, that has to be a clue about how it will be exposed, right?

Hold on a gosh darn minute! Yesterday's cliffhanger had Alex come home yelling for Theresa while she and Brady fell into bed. Now, today, he knocks on the door in the morning. So, what did he do last night? He called for her, and then just went to sleep? Also, amusing that Bonnie is over the whole Xander kidnapping thing. I guess if Nicole's forgiven him, then everyone's cool about it. Charm (and a cute smile) really goes far in Salem. Brady mentioning the use of the living room as a constant wedding venue was amusing, but shouldn't someone have asked why he was there? Or, do they get as confused as I do about who lives at the Kiriakas and Dimera mansions? Overall, John and Steve continue to be as dumb as a box of rocks, the Theresa wig looks better now without the dark roots, but the use of flashbacks as a stylistic choice is unwelcome on a daily basis.

I always forget the timeline, but wasn't Marcy Walker's casting on GL similar to when Sarah Brown returned to GH as Claudia Zacchara? In that they were hired under one set of writers or producers, and then those people left soon after the character premiered? So, whatever the original pitch was for Tangie's story arc may have been subverted for reasons beyond her control. Although, if Tangie's bizarre connection to Roger was part of that pitch, she must have either been very loyal to JFP, or not very good at selecting roles. 🙄

Closeted (gay) actors formerly on the soaps
I would recommend you go back a few pages to see the recent reactions about Adam Huss and Adam Harrington. When heterosexuality is all we see in every song, poem, or museum, queerness is often unexpected.

I fault them for many creative decisions, but good on the Dobson's for keeping Joel Crothers employed (and under union insurance) toward the end of life. I mean, the man took on a dual role right before he passed. I googled it, but couldn't find any references to Nancy Lee Grahn (his scene partner on SB), ever mentioning him in an interview. Let me know if you find anything.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread
I've said it before, but when you've had one baby kidnapped, it's a tragedy. When it happens four times, you have to take some responsibility for not being a protective parent. 🙄 I mean, lock a door, sleep with the infant in the room, do something to avoid cult members from stealing your kid. Dorian may have left her kids in Europe or South America, but she didn't let other people whisk them away and replace them with their twin.

All that being said, I am with @carolineg in that I am really enjoying Lucas. I mean, it's a little odd that he seems like Chad's contemporary, given that they were introduced at least two generations of teen storylines apart. But, I like him as a source of reason. Also, I think all the gluten-free humor is amusing (or at least harmless). Additionally, I assume he's taking inspiration from the past and Abigail is going to open the time capsule, to prove her identity, just like when Gina opened the puzzle box to prove that she was Hope.

Today felt like when you come back from vacation, and someone was using your office for a meeting. You have to tidy up, get rid of unwanted stuff, and get your head straight before you can move forward. One tends to think RonC didn't want Kristen and Alex together (it doesn't fit the vibe, because his romantic partners are always obsessed with each other), he's got to craft an exit for Harris, and he needs to backtrack to his original idea for Theresa. It reminds me of when the Dobson's returned to Santa Barbara in the early 90s and admitted that they hadn't watched any episodes while they were gone. I mean, he even forgot why they named the baby Jude.

and married, This topic is so schizophrenic. On the one hand we make fun of people for not knowing certain actors were gay, then we're shocked when we find out new folks have been added to the list.🙄

Closeted (gay) actors formerly on the soaps
Yes, magazine photos of actresses playing instruments in their West Village apartments, and men who were too busy to date were common signs. But, what interests me now that the soap press is essentially gone, and actors have direct access to their fans through social media, is what are the forces that still keep them in the closet? This is obviously rhetorical, and thus we can only speculate. But, I cannot find empathy with a soap actor whose misperceptions about opportunities, trumps their willingness to live honestly. They want the benefits of liberation, without contributing to the cause. Which I think is morally incorrect. Because when suicide is still the leading cause of death amongst LGBTQI teens, adults in the public eye should not hide behind a need for privacy.
