  1. I didn't know or forgot about most of these but this made me laugh. So it's been quite some time there has been a B&B baby who wasn't named after someone. Going all the way back to 'Hope' according to your list, and she was born in 2002?
  2. Wait did Steffy really call her son 'Hayes'. I'm not gonna lie I'm kind of digging the way B&B handles the character names. It's wildly unimaginative, sure, but I do like how he's always keeping it close to home. We already have a Logan. Spencer's probably coming as that one user already posted. Hope named her daughter after her grandmother Beth. Not to mention Brad simply slapped the names Bill, Caroline and Sally on their new counterparters. Steffy was named after Stephanie. We have Eric who named his son Rick. And of course Bridget which is Brooke + Ridge combined. Ridge who has a son called R.J. (Ridge Jr.). Bill has sons named Will and Liam. I think that's just hilarious. I looked up the real names of Brad's children and of course one of his sons is named Brad.
  3. They're probably gonna be as relevant as Julius and Vivienne Avant were to storylines, no? I wouldn't get my hopes up they're actually gonna be viable characters.
  4. Paul and Emily on ATWT had a stillborn. Completely unnecessary. A bit baffling considering both were long time characters and would continue to stay on and even ended up together when the show wrapped up. I also wish Julia didn't miscarry Jack's baby but I guess they knew Annie Parisse was leaving by that time.
  5. I've always had a weak spot for her but she hasn't had a real story since... 2010? I was very surprised when they brought her back on contract in 2018 and they didn't even give her anything to do.
  6. Stop following these people if they annoy you. You continue to give them a platform.
  7. Quarter might be the only couple name I would be willing to accept.
  8. Sheila's been played out. Did Brad need her for a shitty quick plot point? I thought this would be about Linsey Godfrey and I was really excited for a minute. (I know she was on DOOL and not Y&R but my mind wasn't that fast).
  9. I don't mean to be rude but she's an absolutele terrible actress and I have no idea how she even landed a role on B&B, let alone go on to something "bigger". Good for her though! Inevitably Bell would've gotten bored of the black storyline and dropped them off anyway. Better to get off before it goes down.
  10. Not completely on topic but I was watching the movie 'How High' the other day with rappers Method Mad and Redman (man I feel old) and I was surprised to see both Obba Babatundé (Julius) and Anna Maria Horsford (Vivienne) having sizeable roles. Anna Maria Horsford was also in the movie Friday which I saw the next day.
  11. adlkjagaogh I'd go fangirling over this. I bet he hasn't aged a day.
  12. I started watching ATWT in 2002 with my grandparents, but because The Netherlands was about +/- two years behind the USA these were the episodes that aired in the USA in 2000. I lost a bit of interest in ATWT around 2005 but never completely stopped watching, although progressively watched less until the very end. I never actually saw the last episode. Then I watched OLTL for about a year but stopped before the final episode aired. I watched B&B for a few years after that, off & on, but now haven't really been a soap watcher for about 3 years. I like to keep reading about firings/hirings and what's happening on what soap opera but it's never interesting enough to pull me (back) in.
  13. After reading some comments here I might actually watch this Locher Room session. I didn't realize JP's hands were so tied by higher ups. You can blame her for listening to them but at the end of the day she probably just wanted to keep her job, and why wouldn't she. I thought quite some storyline ideas from her tenure were actually not bad, just not well executed or too fast-paced. Lucinda marrying Brian who was secretly gay should've been a large storyline spanning a much longer period of time. Hunter being Emily's son from an unused egg had great potential. I can't think of any others from the top of my head so maybe there are not that many after all 😄. I had no idea there actually as a co-headwriter from that moment on. That might definitely explain the positive changes I started to see. Yeah, they never really developed Jade beyond being obsessed with Will and Gwen. A shame considering her being Rose's daughter gave her quite some connections. I remember Hunt Block being ridiculously popular on Dutch message boards, and to be honest I can see why (but ATWT started airing here in 1990 so I'm pretty sure the Dutch people never knew the original Craig, or only briefly). . Don't let the negatives get to you. I really enjoyed the show from 2000 until say 2004, but admittedly that's when I started watching and I think everyone has a special place in their heart for the characters that were on during the time they started watching. Sometimes I watch old episodes mainly from 2000-2002 and I think they still hold up pretty well.
  14. I thought JP's work on ATWT was overall really bad. 2005 was just a horrible year imo and I only found out later that's when she started. The organ story with Keith and Lily was terrible. Carly having a never-seen before sister in Gwen was so random and not convincing. The BJ Green story was terrible. A very lackluster year. Early 2006 was pretty good with the big Emily story and Luke's coming out. Probably very unpopular opinion but I was a huge Jade fan. But the real ''gem''' of her reign was Fall/Winter 2009. The pacing was right and the storylines were interesting to me. Emily's egg being used and Hunter being her son was cool (why drop him?), Meg going crazy was the most interesting she had been, Henry being James' son was too contrived but the story surrounding it was nice (I'll never forget the car-window scene with Barbara and Emily), and of course Brad's death was, I have to admit, pretty well written.
  15. When watching old episodes I thought it was quite interesting when I realized that all three of Martha Byrne's pregnancies were written into the show, all of them also resulting in healthy Snyder babies. Compared to Maura who was pregnant 5(five!) times, where I think (but I'm not sure) only her first pregnancy was written into the show, which resulted in a stillborn. Guess Lily was more of a happy home character than Carly anyway, but I still think it's quite interesting and wonder why these decisions were made.
  16. Who cast this friend of Denise starting at 2:20. I'm howling. Charity Rahmer who? This girl is kind of iconic.
  17. I've been watching episodes from the early 2000s and wow Molly and Jake are SUCH A DULL COUPLE. I know they were really popular for some reason. It doesn't help that they always seemed to get the short end of the storyline stick. That baby twin storyline with the visions makes me want to throw something at the TV. I don't care about Vicky or her family. The Nick storyline was so lame and contrived, the Mary storyline that resulted in Jake's killing? Boring but at least it ended this dreaded couple for good. Other than that I must say I really enjoy the cast. They should've never got rid of Denise, Marshall Travers and Isaac, and I wish Annie Parisse never left. She was so much fun. On the other hand, I wouldn't have minded if Carly drove off a cliff with Jack by her side. I wish Julia would've made it happen. The guy who played Chris in 2000 is obviously really handsome but in the most generic and faceless kind of way. I think Bailey Chase made a better Chris. I think 2002-2003 really was a turning point. They reintroduced a lot of characters with new actors and I'm not sure they did justice to the characters. New Rosanna (good casting though), new Mike (I had a huge crush on him as a child but what a boring miscast in hindsight), new Paul (worst casting decision of the last 10 years in ATWT. Did they really sack Scott Holroyd for this mess?), new Dusty (not the best casting), new Chris and new Jennifer. They also introduced Lucy, Aaron, Alison as adults (all of them great casting though). I think the cast changed too much here in a relatively short period of time.
  18. It's so crazy to realize that episodes that aired in 2001 are now just as far away from ATWT's cancellation than today in 2019. I can't believe ATWT has been off the air for almost 9 years now. Time really flies the older you get.
  19. Oh wow I'm actually surprised Shazam managed to get it from that. I didn't even bother myself. Thank you a lot!
  20. Hello everyone, I've been watching old ATWT episodes lately, but I have a different question here. Does anyone know the song that is playing around 51:20 and more clearly around 52:06 with Bonnie and Isaac? I can't really understand enough lyrics to get a Google result. It sounds like Mariah Carey.
  21. Me too. Holroyd was so charismatic and such a natural and perfect for the role.
  22. Love it. My favorite is the one from 2004-2006 (I like the blue color better than the gold) and the last one. Unfortunately the last one didn't last very long. The one from 2006-2009 was awful and an eyesore.
  23. Katie was forced into making a confession tape. If I remember correctly, she was being held up by the man she paid to stalk herself, the same story that landed her the Endicott award, into giving an on-camera confession, which I think Molly taped. I don't think it was a yearly thing. It should've been as I loved Katie's demise at the Endicott. Plus, it could've served as a catalyst for all the characters that worked in the media (Kim/Katie/Holden/Lily/Emily/Henry). Ah thanks that makes a lot of sense! It was a great story to watch.
  24. I have just watched the Endicott episode and I'm a little bit confused as to why such a confession tape actually existed? It seems a bit pointless to make one in advance, no? Also what are the Endicott awards 'cause I heard Tom and Emily say they won it last year. Did it use to be a yearly thing on ATWT?
  25. That person who uploaded the late 90s episodes and early 00s episodes is my personal HERO. It's basically every episode and I'm so addicted still. Mid-August 2000 now and I am reminded how much I loved Julia Lindsey. I don't even know why but I think it's the actress. Julia's descend into madness was ultimately interesting to watch but in hindsight very sad knowing how it all ended up. I can't believe Simon and Lily have been stranded on the island for two whole months. I knew storytelling back then was slow but they were really milking this Lily/Rose thing for all its worth (and why wouldn't they to be honest).
