I'm trying to watch AW from 1980. But aside from Rachel saving Mac. And killing Janice in St Croix. The rest of 1980 is painfully BORING.

I rewatched the July 1, 1980 episode. Where the big fancy ball takes place. And Margo make her first appearance. The show looks so drab and old fashion. While GH from that era looked so modern. I also didn't like the dark lighting. Pornstache Pervy Brad and Dee made googly eyes at each other. Dobs ATWT was meh. While their GL was awesome. Bridget stated in the interview that ATWT went to number one. Which is clearly a lie.

What @antmunoz said. The bitter break up with Rob. And Rob dumping her for Fake Marina. Was the cause for Beth's becoming emaciated. With a permanently resting bitch face.

I think i'll pass on this one. Even though i like Gina. Plus i don't like Alan or the fake bargain basement Mallet. Or the bland and basic chick who played Marina. After Aubrey Dollar left. I wish Alan had the balls for a reunion with Rob and Beth🤣 An aging Beth raging at Rob . Would be soapy fun to watch. I don't want to know what fancy expensive college their kids go to. I never cared for Cryus. But i'm glad Murray has had a good career after GL died.

It was ok. Nothing great very sanitized. As per usual. At least there were no technical problems. Alan loves Carmen going after Michelle. That got so boring and played out. Interesting to learn that Danny was supposed to be Italian. PAS called Peapack bizarre 🤣

Just saw the January 3, 1961 episode. Fun to watch a salty and shady young Bert. Who was a far cry from the sweet loving grandmotherly matriarch she became. Bert's disdain for Robin was thinly veiled. Even from only seeing one episode. Robin came across as a very complex character. This Mike had a boyish face and really deep voice. Really liked Papa Bauer. He was a kindly, earthy, stable presence amidst the drama.

@DRW50 Great Post Carl. You sure know your GL history. The characters and stories all read as very fascinating. I wonder what GL would've been like had they kept Robin.? Would she had mellowed like Bert did? Would the character of Robin lasted decades? Would Robin had locked horns with Alex? It seems shortsighted of Irna. To just kill her off. But Irna was known for that.
