Queens recognize another Queen lol ... I love how Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, etc. loved and respected soap operas. Of course considering their melodramas as movies, it makes sense. Love it though. They see the hard work that goes into it that gets overlooked and dismissed. That's so cool though. I need to watch this interview for sure. Sounds like a good time. I had no clue either about Nancy and Melanie being BFFS, but I can totally see it. Would love to see them interviewed together.

Hello there! LOL. He's cute as hell. I heard he had some criticism already lol. Like, why? Because he didn't have dark curly hair like annoying kid Johnny did? If these folks would look, he had darker hair before ... I think he looks well cast. I'm so glad Johnny has finally been cast. He has three scheming parents, he better be a conniver, lol. Johnny should be the male Sami. lmao!

He's been great. I'm all for Chase/Brook Lynn. lol I know. Molly/Pullos looks so young. The second time we got Bobbie/Maxie scenes. Unless I missed one, the last time was the Sean Donely episode. It's been nice. So many characters could be playing out numerous storyline beats but they often aren't used or used well. This is what I want to see more of. It's not hard. So true. Frank loves his newbie characters. I imagine there's probably a struggle between him and the writers, who seem to get the idea tying new to old in ways that work (Jackie/Chase). Isn't Mathison only going to be recurring or am I wrong? Not that it doesn't mean he won't be on a lot regardless ... Sigh. So many characters I could think of I'd rather watch and we get Austin, Mathison's character ...

Yikes. I watched her cut short an interview too. She's really become bizarre. Wow. It's really true. It has to be. I'm both thrilled yet ... cautiously concerned. I don't even feel like these are hacks; it's a show that's kind of just existing at the moment and will throw out a shock to try and garner some press and ratings. I agree no team will do her justice. If this were a US soap she'd be hiding out an alive Pat Butcher and Ian Beale and they return to Walford together LOL. An aside, I've always thought a good writer could have written away Pat's death. Sigh. That was such a mistake and hearing Janine returning just makes me think of the mistake in killing Pat.

It really has proven how easily he could be removed ... lol. I see glimpses of really old school Sonny at times in Mike, the charm, among other things, that has been lost for years. I don't really miss Sonny at all, though I know it's only a matter of time. I imagine this gives Mo something to play with that caters to his ego for a bit like Papa Mike dying did. It was time to move a lot of these characters in new directions. You can tell it was needed as their stans are having freakouts they aren't featured five days a week as they were (well, Carly still is; lord) It's time the soaps stop catering to the stanbases. Just because they're loud and vocal and can often bully their opinions, doesn't mean they represent the majority. I mean, look at Soap Facebook; lord that was a cesspool. And onto today's episode ... it's like night a day. Today's GH is a GH I want to watch. Brook/Chase, Bobbie/Maxie, TJ/Shawn, Molly/Alexis ... Michael and Wallow need to be written out together for a long time, JMO. Michael needs a rest and reset too. Willow can die but they seem fond of her for some reason, when SO MANY others could be in her spot (and were; remember the last pet Sabrina ....). Jax and Nina are also feeling tired. I'm patiently waiting for Nina's deception to be exposed and her to go all batshit crazy. LOL. She can "whoops I killed Jax by mistake" and I'd be cool with it It's time to give some other characters some airtime, I can see why there's burnout on who's featured. Anyway, I loved Bobbie and Maxie. THIS is how Bobbie should be used. Although it sort of feels like Felicia should be in that spot (in an ideal world, BOTH would be in that spot!). Did Wagner only come back for the Sean Donely episode? Where has Robert vanished too? He was on Peter like nobody's business and then they don't really use him in the aftermath? This is one of the problems GH seems to have ... is Rogers being punished by petty Frank? LOL I kid but still ... I'd appreciate Liz being used in a medical story at the hospital if it wasn't all about propping Finn. We've seen more of Finn's POV over his maybe son dying than Liz has had in years. It's insulting, TBH. I'd also accept Liz and Finn hooking up if it meant Hayden came back to drag them for filth. I just do not understand their desperation to hang onto Howarth.

Kudos for Courtney Hope collecting a paycheck still, and she's absolutely wasted, but what on earth has been the purpose of Sally on Y&R? Does nobody else want the headwriting job? Why on earth is Griffith still around?

LMAO. I don't blame him. It showed. He has been phoning it in for YEARS. And "Austin" seems even more stupid. Why is he still collecting a paycheck when we could be watching literally anyone else? LOL. Not that he's on much (yet) but still ... sigh. His stints on ATWT and GH have really made me sour on Howarth as an actor. Right? We have been soooooo close TWICE.

I'm curious about this too. I'd love to see her more but it would also require having a kid on the canvas, IMHO. One who's played by a likeable un-problematic actor. I love all three and think they should be featured way more than they are but I'm assuming it's by choice (clearly it is with Walton and Maitland is just thrilled to be there). I'd argue they could do more with all of them, they don't need to be leading a story 4 days a week but Y&R and (and for example GH) could use their vets in much more strongly supporting ways, if that makes sense. But I know a lot of factors play behind the scenes. Scheduling, budget, availability of the actors ...

I don't think they have any desires for her to be anything but a baby mama, though I agree with a better actress this role would have had massive potential. But it's Griffith. He sucks. She screams 'dead woman walking'. It's on purpose; it has to be LOL. I'm guessing they deliberately cast someone who isn't familiar. She screams 'I belong on a Hallmark movie' and that's not necessarily an insult. Just very low energy.

Meant to add I mixed up Maxine and Trish. Trish is dating Fergus (which was made abundantly clear yesterday LOL). This should go well, no? Trish dating a creepy pervert who spies on young women as she runs a dance studio ...

Watching regularly now ... I have to admit, the UK soaps and their pandemic protocols remind me of a budget strapped US soap LOL. Hardly any extras, a bit lethargic ... I will say, it's nice to see a Street that isn't ugly and toxic and dark. I will say they're also hurting not being able to use the vets as much. The Cobbles feel a bit empty. I also can't say anything is setting the world on fire storywise but it's watchable and I'm simply jumping in (so I'm not up on everything and the details) Jenny catching onto Sharon was fun. I like that she was forced to spill to Johnny about her dalliance with Ronnie. I like Daisy. I'm glad we got to see Rita in the Sharon face off. Everyone else seems to be spinning their wheels, no? Gary/Maria David/Shona have no story Emma and Curtis could be cute Steve feels tired and the grimace thing Gregson does is a bit annoying ... lol Carla feels beaten down and "downtrodden" (as a UK article called her). It was fun seeing her rip into pathetic Sarah. Sarah looks like she's playing dress up in the factory LOL

I was thinking about him the other day as I was watching some episodes online from his time. I hope he receives help as well. I'm trying to watch regularly now ... some thoughts ... Like I said in the Corrie thread, the UK soaps were feeling a bit lethargic and cash strapped like the US soaps but EastEnders seems to be able to have more extras and feel more 'normal' if you will than Corrie does ... I like Sharon/Kheerat Ben/Callum has decent conflict I suppose. Phil and Kat is unexpected but it actually kind of works and Phil isn't *as* toxic as he was. Sonia finding her father Terry works for me. Martin not being a raging thug for five minutes goes a long way. Thoughts on Sharon having another brother in Zack? At least this time he's blood related. LOL. I still lowkey cringe when she talks about Dennis as the love of her life. I get it but eww. LOL. Mo's gone again I see? Mo leaving Jean a garage full of pot is hilarious. I love her. Is Jean dying? Cancer? I missed some details here. I'm assuming she starts lighting up? YES PLEASE. I like the use of Kathy. Could be a little better but it's fine. Ian really isn't needed anymore. Peter and Bobby fill that spot fine. I never cared either way about Kush simply because I didn't develop a fondness for him from watching. I really haven't watched much of his time on the show. I did like him with Whitney and it was sad to see him shoved under the train by Gray. It's time to wrap the Gray story up, no? Talk about milking a villain. I also feel like they kind of ran the gamut with Kush. Storywise I can get the decision to dump him. I know Whitney is popular but couldn't they have just written them out together for a while? I feel like I started watching the UK soaps again regularly as they were just coming off interesting things. I can't say they set the world on fire this last week.

I agree with you. I think Sam feels refreshed with Dante, personally. I like the rapport they have. It's not setting the world on fire but I'd much rather watch them than Michael and Wallow. Olivia is supporting. That's fine. She's not a lead. Lisa Lo is fantastic so that's probably why they use her so much. Sonny is a dying character, IMO. This saved him for a while and I much prefer "Mike" to Sonny. Can he never get his memory back? Although the Nina aspect feels like it's starting to drag and spin it's wheels. What WOULD save him is bringing Brenda back in the future. But it feels time to drop him as a lead. It's time for supporting. Too bad his kids are poorly cast ... I'd have agreed on Maxie up until she FINALLY gave birth. I see the Maxie I should have been seeing. I mean, she and Lulu were literally becoming the same person. I like Jason and Britt even though they've Sam'd her up a bit. She's just a taller Sam (who used to be interesting, believe it or not) but it works. She's a better match. I can kinda see where the poster was coming from, I'm assuming what they really mean to say is they're tired of these characters and want a break. I can get that. I'm kinda tired of most of them too. For all the faults (Frank manipulation; Roger Howarth having his zillionth role on the show), I think Dan and Chris did a decent job shaking up the canvas and the stale couples.

Yeah, I get sets are hard to come by on DAYS but Jack inviting Xander and Gwen to live in the Horton house is ridiculous to me. All of them living together is amusing but it feels wrong lol. In my dream world, JJ, Abby and Jennifer are with an alive Laura in Boston. It's ironic we got Jack back and now none of his kids or wife are on the canvas. His mother in law is dead. But he's playing daddy to Gwen and Xander. It's like we can't have *both*.

Trying to watch regularly ... I like both Sienna and Mercede's stories. They are similar yet also very different. I do appreciate how, sometimes unlike US soaps nowadays, we can understand characters motivations, even if they're bizarre, stupid, etc. Cher is clearly in need of therapy and jealous and threatened by Mercedes on different levels. It's kinda interesting to watch, and then add in toxic social media ... What do people think of Diane's obsession with staying safe from the pandemic? I like they're touching on it (as well as mixing in good old soap drama) actually. Cindy remains stupid. LOL. I knew instantly paying off Ollie to go away would bite her in the ass. She always sabotages herself. Sue is fun. It's a shame she's dying. How many Ollie's is this? The third? Mandy/Darren/Nancy is the least interesting to me but I like he got injured by the falling sign. It's time to keep Darren/Nancy together or just end them for good. It feels a bit been there/done that with them quite often. The most bizarre has to be Sienna/Summer/Brody. Summer is trying to destroy Brody but has the hots for Sienna? Is she sincere with Sienna? It's hard to tell. Seems to be ... looking forward to this one coming to a head. Sally/Theresa was the comedic combo I never knew I needed. John Paul can wither and die in prison. He can be so frustrating LOL. I'm liking Denise Welch back on a soap. She's fun as Maxine's awful mother. So Maxine is dating another creepy loser? He's spying on Peri and streaming it? Yikes. The Sid/Courtney thing was weird.

The whole Jake/Kate romance was clearly a plot device lol. At least it's in character for Kate to pull a stunt like this, so I'm cool with it. I'd have rather she had been playing him all of these months for her own purposes but then started having the hots for him as he dumped her. It's close to that. Sometimes just a little change in the writing could go a long way.

I can see them resting Claire or bringing back Keegan if she's free. Durant is fine but she's just not Claire to me.

They really do a good job when they need to regarding this. I agree. It's so cute seeing them together again. I forgot Matt Cohen works for ET. GH wasted him.

Yep. It's really insulting to see her basically be an extra. Hell, Phelps and Guza used her better and they seemed to hate her. I've been sick of baby stories on soaps for what feels like a decade now. They're so lazy and we have waaaaay too many kids running around off-screen. I'm still behind but I did watch some of today/yesterday and Kirsten Storms put in work.

This. Fans enjoy the Evans-Brady-Black family. Plus the Last Blast crew. They all should be front and center and seem like they will be but it all just feels so ... flat. Shawn and Belle need to be working on baby #2. Time for a boy. I never really worry about Jarlena getting a story or time under Ron. He always goes back to them in the fall. He knows. It's usually guarantees and scheduling that make it feel so uneven and prevent characters from being used as much as they should be, so it's like they pick and choose. And to add, Ron's basically giving me a show with so many characters I want to see and who should have been on for years and weren't but I still can't find myself being excited or all that interested. Maybe what airs daily will entertain me at least ... lol I can't wait for Paulina and Marlena to become BFFs.

I *want* to. That's my problem. I'm just not there. I think the writing could be better. Maybe it will get there. I like Jeff Kober. I see potential.

And she should have more friends and stronger relationships than Terry (no offense to Terry but they phone it in with her). Laura, Bobbie, among others ... I mean, Frank dumped Genie too. He went to the Frons School of Soap. As he catered to the male stars like Geary and Benard (likely because he's weak and didn't want to lose his job; hence "The Writer" getting fired; I love how Ron hates Mumbles Benard and Geary) I wonder if they do anything for her 25th next year? Dr. Pasty! LMAO. I'm dead. I'm totally calling him that. Cyrus is still pathetic, though the long hair helps make him slightly more menacing (LOL! As much as he possibly could be ... lord). Frank doesn't care about the vets. They get their bones in the writing but could be used more and better. We see them for a few episodes and I think "they're finally using them as they should" but then they disappear. I also blame having 60000 castmembers. Howarth gets to play his third role on this show while vets sit on the sidelines and half the cast is recurring and not used well. Make it make sense ... UK soaps are half hour and make better use of their casts (though not lately TBH) Anywho ... the show has potential which is why I'm so annoyed over certain things. The focus is wrong. The balance sucks. Bobbie and Lucy should be fighting over him. That would be great. Why didn't they put Lucy with Valentin? Gregory is single (Colonel Sanders Tad is free) ... though I feel like they're saving him for Alexis for some reason. I could go on ... I keep editing to add things LOL I better not see Kimberly J. Brown wasted on Chad Duell. Ever. I'll fly to California and picket the damn studio. LOL. She's great. So full of life, unlike Wallow and Sidepiece (I like Sasha and Brando, but at the same time, why are they wasting my time with them?). Though I'm confused because isn't Brown on contract? I'm assuming they will be used with all of their family in town ... if not, yikes, lol That's very true. I'm sure they are and just waiting it out and taking the opportunity to do Xander/Gwen in the meantime.
