  1. I'm not surprised either. I agree lol
  2. He'll be a breakdown writer so I'm not too concerned. I disagreed with his viewpoints, as did several on here. I won't forget. However, I'm still happy for him and his success. He loves the genre and DAYS needs diversity in the writers room. I wasn't a fan of Ambitions but the man got the show on the air. Kudos to him. I think it had potential though. Casting didn't help. I think it was a bit 'trying to hard'.
  3. God that was such a mess. LOL I liked Alexandra Neil. Paige was a waste by that point though unfortunately.
  4. Maybe he shouldn't be handing out contracts like they're pieces of hard candy. LOL. Though I actually feel like I've noticed an improvement without Babs Bloom around so I'm not mad she's gone. That's too bad. I doubt they listened to her anyway. She should be the headwriter, but I doubt she'd want it lol. Can DAYS scoop her up next?
  5. Missed this post earlier. She was great. Came alive. It felt like old Nicole at times too. I'm happy for him as well. DAYS is a good fit for him and diversity in the writers room is needed.
  6. THIS Though I can buy her fixation this go-around because she's long been obsessed with "The Forresters" lol. Hayes is her "in". And I bought her 2005/2006 return to Y&R as it was Scotty focused but of course it really went nowhere and was a waste.
  7. Once Calista started ranting about Buddy Bucks all I could think about was the Weenie Tots episode of Married with Children where Al schemed with Jefferson and Marcy to claim the winning prize but Kelly blew it. I see where he gets his inspiration. LOL I did lol at Allie's face seeing Johnny and Chanel walk in arm and arm. And it was nice to see a different set. I'm so tired of the blue though. LOL. It was a treat having Tony/Anna/EJ/Johnny interacting. Justin and Bonnie are definitely filler. I love Judi Evans and Wally Kurth but they're afterthoughts. I'd rather see other characters but it is what it is I guess since I like seeing the actors. And OF COURSE Steve 'no longer has a problem with Bonnie' as Calista Lockhart storms into town threatening Bonnie for money. LOL. I assume he figures it out? What's the end-goal here? Calista also felt like they were trolling those who wanted Adrienne alive. No? The hair. The dress. "I thought you were dead" ...
  8. lol same, I find Gladys to be the best thing about Blando and Sasha. I do like Sofia Mattsson but she's sadly expendable from the cast. Too bad she wasn't tied to Mac or Martin or somebody. Why couldn't Mac have a daughter he never knew about? (hi, Ryan) I know not everybody needs or should be tied to each other but at the same time ... I mean, they don't even play up her connection with Lucy, which would help immensely. Yet we see every tear Willow cries.
  9. Agreed. I like what I see, for the most part (I loved seeing the DiMera's together and bickering, to be honest) and could do without others (Cin/Rafe/Ava/Nicole), but it's just ... I can't seem to put my finger on it. I do think it's budget as well as Ron's rotational style of writing. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. It just lacks something that I can't quite figure out. I guess that would be: budget. LOL. I don't know. I sound crazy. For the most part, Ron has the right cast in place (and on-call, like Carrie/Austin, etc.) and I see the potential. I seem to perk up when there's more than two people in a scene together. I just miss the flow soaps used to have. It's so hard to explain but I think most of you get it. It's not a new thing but I'm just .... I want better lol
  10. Scarlett Butcher (Moon) arrived in today's episode: https://metro.co.uk/2021/08/27/eastenders-spoilers-scarlett-moon-arrives-as-tommy-makes-contact-15164328/ And so far she's nothing like mommie dearest. Curious if that lasts. It's fun watching Kat as a mother to a very mouthy Tommy. LOL. I keep forgetting Jack is still on the show ... lol I like Zack and Nancy. Mick's dour face is tiresome though. Time to move on to wrapping up the Gray stuff. Seems like the possibility is there. He's starting to slip (bringing up that Tina, dead, was seen), IMO, and Chelsea isn't Chantelle. I do like Gray's actor though. He's hot as hell, IMO. lol. But yeah, time to wrap it up. Also feels like it's time to deal with the elephant in the room between Martin and Ruby. I imagine it will happen when Stacey comes back.
  11. She was on OLTL for a hot minute. It has been a while. She was entertaining that's for sure. The name is ridiculous but I was loling at Bonnie and Calista. It's been watchable and at times entertaining, but still a lot of WTF-ery, at least to me. I don't know why it's all not coming together for me. The Carver-Price unit is the best thing going and there's potential with Allie/Chanel/Johnny. Ben/Ciara and Rafe/Nicole/Ava remain the lowlights. I just don't feel we're building towards anything. I don't know. It's just so hard for this show to maintain any sort of momentum and there's a lack of cast interaction. No budget really has done a number on the soaps (that and poor decisions and confusing story directions, if we even get a 'story'). I think Beyond Salem excites me for the fact that we're going to see characters who don't feel tired and played out as well as an umbrella story that connects them all (I assume). Beyond Salem, without even seeing the episodes already feels like the show Days should be but somehow can't be.
  12. No lies here. It better be a damn Red Wedding at this point. So many could go. But they won't. We aren't that lucky. And it would be the wrong people. He really is overrated. The mugging for the camera, the lazy appearance ... I just don't see the appeal. And this comes from someone who once loved his Todd Manning. I just can't with him. He keeps getting mis-cast (hi, ATWT) and then they desperately try to make him happen. He's not the catch he was in 1993 or even 2002. Getting mainstream attention now Yeah there's way too many kids. I do think they often make the wrong choice when it comes to giving someone a baby (does Sasha need one just because Mattsson was pregnant IRL?) so when an opportunity like Britt/Jax/Jason presents itself, they probably realize they can't take it. If that makes any sense. I'm so burned out on 'baby stories', which is why I appreciate the Brook/Maxie 'switch' so much. Even though it reeks of ultimately being Valentin/Austin/Peter centered. We'd never be so lucky. But the anvils/setup is absolutely there for it. Jax all 'Josslyn's safety' (when we know Josslyn ain't going anywhere), etc. But we can't have nice things.
  13. I hate that damn manbun. I just can't take him seriously at all anymore. He doesn't even try.
  14. Same for me. I used to like him. I don't know what the hell he thinks he's doing. I think that he *truly believes* this is some of his best work and he's some master thespian and we all just don't get it. It's not. It's bad. Whispery, laughably bad. And Esme is SO Ryan's daughter, or at least connected to him somehow (daughter of a victim of his?). And it makes sense because Kevin is sticking around and will be involved with Spencer. It would make sense to give him a kid if they insist on keeping him around (which is fine because Jon Lindstrom is so damn good, but Ryan feels played out)
  15. That, and truthfully, the promo gave me the feels. Which I haven't had in forever with this show. It felt like the Days of Our Lives I want to watch. Not whatever they pass for now.
  16. I like Raven Bowens/NuChanel and Carson Boatman is adorable as Johnny. I love seeing Johnny with Tony and Anna today. And Dan has made me interested in EJ. Miracles happen. Kudos to casting. Agreed that Chanel and Tripp have some chemistry. But she also has it with Johnny and Allie. Calista Lockhart? Really Ron LOL I can't
  17. Ah, Blando's (love that nickname) actor liked it too? lol. Of course. I wondered about Coloma too. He doesn't necessarily seem problematic like Ingo does but still. I think Coloma is a Scientologist too, but that's from social media and I haven't really looked into it. I like him as Nikolas but he hasn't completely turned me off like some actors have (yet). Some actors keep their politics and views quiet and just do their job.
  18. Agreed, it was disappointing. Meanwhile, forgot to add, I am so happy to see Charles Shaughnessy (Shane), especially now that he's going to be on contract with GH.
  19. Yep, the whole vibe just does IT for me too. Eileen's Kristen would have been leading Brady on all of these years. Stacy's Kristen cries herself to sleep over him. They write them differently, too.
  20. As am I. I'm looking forward to an actor who shows up for work invested. Chandler already looks like he's appreciating it just from clips and pictures LOL. I like Freddie but he was out to lunch for years. And Chandler feeds off of who he's working with. Exactly. I enjoyed Stacy as Kristen (the writing for Kristen was a [!@#$%^&*] mess) but My God Eileen in her body language ALONE ... It would be smart to do that. So they probably didn't
  21. Ugh. I'm so tired of him. At this point he seems to really love the attention no matter good or bad. And a few actors have liked that post. Marcus Coloma, Jacqueline Woods ...
  22. They're already excited over "hot Sonny"
  23. Exactly. Why are folks looking to be outraged? Like SH was given the finger by the show? We don't know that. Eileen MADE Kristen. Period. The reaction to her return has been bizarre. I mean, we can accept flip flopping Abby's but not Kristen's?
