Wasserman just called the other race for Ossoff. I honestly am in shock. I figured one but not both. Those organizers in Georgia deserve a whole lot of something. Amazing work and the democratic party should clone those organizers over the entire southeast.

This is too good to be true, but I think it is. I haven't been this happy in ages.

It's a done deal.  Warnock is the projected winner.  We just need him to pull Ossof across the finish line.  Loeffler is so hated, her WNBA team publicly campaigned against her and wore Warnock t shirts.

🤣 You just made my night.

News outlets haven't called the race yet, but Wasserman is reliable and has accurately called other races in the past. Based on what is left to count, Ossoff should win two. Republicans have maxed out and Metro Atlanta is heavily unreported.

Please God, let it be. I cannot stand Kelly Loeffer. Sure, they are both awful, but insider trading off a pandemic? Plus dabbling with the Klan? I find that beyond redeption, not that she's sorry in the first place.

Seriously, anyone else would have been put in a straitjacket, muzzled and thrown into a padded cell long ago. Shame on all the enablers in the GOP as well.

45 is the abusive ex who refuses to go away, foaming at the mouth like a rabid animal. I'm honestly scared about what will happen in Washington come Wednesday.

Every day until January 20th feels like a month. The last 5 years feel like 20 to me.  Like all of us, I need this to be over.

Just found out that a colleague died of COVID-19 a few days ago. I hadn't been in touch with him for a number of years. At first, I felt oddly numb and then I began to remember be bits, hos personality quirks and moments of kindness and generosity and it made me smile, even giggle but now, I feel inexplicably and unbelievably down.

I'm sorry to hear this. Feeling down about all of this loss is normal, especially because it didn't have to be this way.

@amybrickwallaceI am sending good thoughts to you and your brother.

@DramatistDreamer *HUGS* My condolences for your loss.

    THIS.

I am very glad to hear this. With any luck you can get the vaccine soon.

Believe me, I understand the motivation(s) behind vandalizing Mitch McConnell's home.  However, I fail to see what such an act would have accomplished, aside from letting out frustration.  It wasn't as if he/she/they could have intimidated him into reversing his stance on the 2K stimulus checks.  So, again, what did they hope to accomplish there?

I agree it doesn't accomplish anything. I guess I don't think it needs to. I'm completely apathetic to his well being. If after everything he's done harm comes his way, so be it. I wouldn't harm him personally, btw.

I find it astonishing that this is still going on. Why are these people so willing to do this for Trump?  🤔

What kind of leverage does he have on them? I know it's rare, but it's not the first time a sitting president has lost an election. Why are they so hellbent on trying to keep him in power like this?

Frankly, the blatant disrespect they're showing towards the results of a democratic election should disqualify them from keeping their own seats in the senate.

I think it's to get his voters. They know what they are doing won't change anything. Trump himself is only doing it as a grift. He knows he's out, although (God help us) it sounds like Ivanka might run for the senate.

While I would not wish harm on him either...once people knew who was really behind it...he should have saw that coming.

At least people know who to blame for a change.

    But...yeah...karma.

Ya'll are so much nicer than I am. He has harmed millions of people and I do wish him harm.

    This is beyond unacceptable.

@Vee I know you were joking, but best of luck.

It's not a surprise that we are - yet again - faltering, this time on the vaccine front, but it's no less frightening.

If only this could be a wake up call, but I'm not that hopeful.  We need to pull together, but so many people are lost in this Trumpian, QAnon fantasy world there is no reasoning with them. Apparently, only about 60% of the population even wants the vaccine at this point. We are in for a hellish few months coming up.

I'm not so sure we SHOULD return to the '80's.  Large swaths of this country, including blue-collar workers and the LGBTQ community, suffered a ton during the Reagan era, which was definitely all about making the rich richer and keeping the poor in the poorhouse.  The only difference between then and now, quite frankly, is that the '80's had Aqua Net and shoulder pads.

I would time travel back, but I certainly wouldn't make anyone else live through it again. I think I'd be happier without the matrix (cellphones, social media). Then again, who knows? I've changed so much it might be unbearable.

Amen about Stacy.  Kemp picked the wrong one to rob!

Yes, he did. Getting screwed over like that would have discouraged a lot of people, but SA just fought harder. I have tremendous respect for her.

  11. The pardon of the Blackwater f*ckers is one more stain on our nation. I made the very big mistake of reading the details of the case just now. I knew the fact that two children died, but not how.  This is the type of case that makes it hard for me to say I'm anti death penalty. If I am, it's only because I don't believe it can ever be administered fairly. Nevertheless, if I were on a jury I would have had no problem sentencing these bastards to death. I hope every one of them rots in hell.

I'm posting the link some of us just have to know, but don't read this unless you're soul and mind can take it.

trump of all people HATES the COVID bill. he said people should get 2,000 and couples 4,000 plus more for each child, and tld McConnell to strip out all of the pork he and republicans put in it. you know you are lower than whale dung when DONALD TRUMP makes you look bad with a TINY bit of sense.

He seems to be mixing up what is in the Covid bill with what is in the omnibus bill. Twitter is going nutty about the foreign aid they thought was in the Covid bill, but like Trump they made a mistake and can't be told otherwise. It's one thing for those of us in the peanut gallery not to know ( I certainly wouldn't have), but the President himself and some of these reporters? Unreal.

I agree wholeheartedly. but, for me, when I hear that Joel Osteen got 4.4 million to run that scam "church" of his and we get 600....

I hear you. There is so much corruption in our system. So many rich people got these huge loans, while the small businesses who needed it didn't get anything.

  14. 50 minutes ago, Taoboi said:

    ALL OF THIS.

    No...SOUL.

Right. The Republicans had the upper hand in more ways than one. If you are Nancy Pelosi you care that every single day that goes by means another day of food insecurity for millions of people.  I'm guess the Democrats also look at this in terms of economies of scale so to speak. A desperate single mother of three is getting $2,400. That is enough to help in the short term. It might be enough to bridge some people until things get a little better.

I really feel for single people though. Politicians are always going on about families, but what about a single person who's rent is $1,000 a month? In a decent society we would be paying people a reasonable amount each month to stay home. If it wasn't obvious before, it is increasingly clear that America is only for the strong and the lucky. Good luck being those things your whole life. 🙃

  15. I'm torn. Obviously $600 is [!@#$%^&*] for people who are months behind on rent. I guess it will help some of the families lined up at the food pantry and the people who will qualify for some extra unemployment.  I'm glad that the people going hungry are getting something, but these heartless Republican bastards do not care anything for the poor and struggling at all. I despise every one of them.

A good number of my family are anti-maskers and believe that COVID is a hoax. They've been mocking masks for months despite the fact that we lost our cousin Mike to COVID in April. Mike started showing symptoms and was gone in less than 24 hours. Now, they're finally beginning to take it seriously after it really hit home this week: My aunt's longtime boyfriend and his sister both died from COVID within hours of each other.

What this situation has taught me is that we are very lucky that this virus doesn't have an even higher death rate.  If it did we would really be screwed because people on a large scale lack sense and discipline of any kind. It's shocking and it's not all Trump. He didn't help, but he doesn't account for the people in other nations who are flouting the rules at every opportunity.

On top of that you have the stories of rich nations hoarding the vaccine. https://www.bbc.com/news/health-55229894 Some have purchased much more vaccine than their population needs. So I guess the plan is to let the virus rage among the poor and develop mutations, coming back in a form our vaccine doesn't protect against.  Meanwhile, Angela Markle seems like the only real leader with sense, but is anyone with power listening to her? It doesn't seem like it.

Which is why I've been saying that NYC is coming for Trump.

Although AG James' case is a civil, not criminal one, if she finds any evidence of criminal activity (of which there is a good chance), she can present that evidence to DA Vance, who is conducting a criminal investigation.

Also, this is yet another reason that I roll my eyes at talk about him running in 2024. Aside from the obvious aspect that had he had any true intention of running in four years, he wouldn't be trying so hard to cling to the office now (he'd simply pull a Vlad, go away while installing someone to do his bidding, while trying to stage a comeback but all indications point to someone who is desperately trying to stave off debt ( remember that $450 million?) and more lawsuits and possible jail time.

Happily, but I wonder what the plan will be? How do you imprison people (hoping Ivanka and some of the others go down as well) that have a ton of intelligence info. Do they just put them in solitary? Even then it seems like there is always going to be a security flaw (guards, warden). With any luck we'll find out shortly.

Another day, another person I had to almost put out for not wearing a mask to order. In the tradition of the 'jalapano' story I mentioned...today this person (actually I wonder if it was the same person)...wanted to argue over his order cuz he couldn't wear a mask right. He actually walked in and PULL IT DOWN TO ORDER. When I pointed out that he could not do that in there, he wanted to say he know that (so why pull it down when you been here before and yes I said that to? Make it make sense.) I also pointed out the signs on the door so he wanted to YELL after that, 'tried' to curse me out, and then called me a pedophile.

Most of my co-workers know that when RHOA is airing is usually when my shade is sharpest so he was professionally (didn't even rise my voice) gathered. Either come in and order like a normal person WITH A MASK or GET OUT. It is that simple. And I said so. We are all tired of this pandemic and if all one can do when we are currently in the midst of a stay at home order is to clown to have something to do, he could walk right back out that door. Otherwise answer the question I ask (was it okay for the condiments I had asked). As for pedophile, he got told to not talk about himself. ;)

His friend had to finish his order.

And I never lost my cool with the other people after him who were being a bit...hmmm...catty? Smile on my face. My boss asked if I needed a moment. No, I said. I had enough of non-maskers making my job harder when December is my busy time at all of my jobs. Since I expect it to be hard, I am almost always Grace Under Pressure for the work team around me. I have to be on point. I stay on point. He can go have a moment with his 'calling someone a pedophile cuz you don't want the smoke I can actually throw but CHOOSE not to' self.

People have real lost their minds over this. To call you a pedophile over ordering a food and a mask. Absolutely nuts. You are amazing for keeping your cool.
