Sex addiction? Really? Michael Fassbender's character in the movie SHAME reacted more realistically to his sex addiction than his 'addict.' Clearly, that is as much a lie as he was on suicide watch, but the police went and got him Burger King? Burger King? On suicide watch? ???

@ChitHappens no video yet, but I'm sure it will surface. :)

I guess I can believe he has sex addiction. He went to rehab for it. Sounds like he belonged to one of those fundamentalist churches that are always blaming women for tempting men. So he feels it's ok to go out there and murder a bunch of innocent women so they can't tempt him. WTAF!!! Don't take responsibility for your problems, just go target sex workers. Then you'll be just fine, right.

It makes me stick to think that some psychopath can just wipe out 8 lives because he can't control himself. I really wish he had just turned the gun on himself instead of killing innocent girls. And yes, this was a hate crime. People trying to beat 75 year old women, throwing stones at people's houses. We really learned nothing from the scapegoating that went on with HIV/AIDS disaster.

  2. This really is strange. I thought this administration was talking about decriminalizing? Also, isn't there some pro weed banking legislation being considered. I think it's referred to as SAFE, but I don't know the details.

Ingo is more than a bit.  He tweeted last year that he'd joined Parler.

OMG. Well, I completely stopped paying attention to him years ago when he started talking about "liberals"and defending Trump, so I'm not up to date on how far he's fallen. I did see that stuff with Mo/NLG, which was incredibly rude.

Supposedly there were whispers of VI having gone MAGA in recent years. I really don't want to believe that. What a mess.

I don't either. I didn't want to believe Ingo had either, but he's shown himself to be a bit of an ass regardless.

I think it's pretty clear Republican men hope to kill off the rest of us.

But aren't they just going to kill off themselves by not taking the vaccine? Well, not just themselves because the immune compromised are affected by these selfish jackasses as well.

Let's just hope that they only infect one another!

    Amen.

Yes, hence the word "consider". As I said, I know this sometimes happens, through no one's fault but sometimes, a glance up thread, or on a previous page is all it takes.

I'm in. I usually check, but I will be more diligent.

  7. I do think giving people monthly tax credit payments for children is a great idea. Monthly installments are better than a lump sum, imo. I was reading how this will cut child poverty by 50%. I really hope we can end up making this permanent at least for the poorest among us. The additional SNAP money is great too.

And since I really have a heart for single people trying to make it in this world, I'm happy about the unemployment insurance and rent assistance too. I lived alone in San Francisco a good part of my 20's and I hate to think of what people in that situation are going through now, if they've lost their job.

This is another opportunity. For states that have had no expansion, put it on the ballot and let people vote on it in places like Texas and Florida.

It was voted for in NE and the governor has been delaying as much as possible ever since. At least it really shows their true colors and refusal to implement the will of the people.

These pool reporters need to shake off the corrosion and do better. They got so used to dealing with basics that they've gotten dim-witted and intellectually lazy. They're being embarrassed for lack of due diligence and rightfully so.

Yes, I admit it was fun to watch them get slapped down. Hopefully, they will take the lesson and do better.

I just hope she had a good time at the mall afterwards.

    😂

As Jane mentioned, she brought a damn cake into the Senate. She was purposely trying to taunt people over this issue and I find it despicable.

Perhaps the fight for $15 has always been a little too ambition in the short term. I think people do deserve that, but it probably wasn't realistic to expect to double the minimum wage in just a few years during a small business destroying pandemic. Back to the drawing board.

Imagine being this eager to vote down an increase in the minimum wage, as well as pander to McCain voters like they are children. I have no faith in her staying in the party if it comes the time when it really counts.

She doesn't even realize that she should be ashamed of herself. Sure, vote against it if you must, but making a fool of herself like this shows no self awareness. When JM did it he was voting against his party to keep health care for people (yes, I know he did a lot of bad things). She does it to vote against her party to keep more people poor? What an embarrassment.  I now have an intense dislike for her.

  10. This is interesting. I used to associate anti vaxxing with liberal women who went down a rabbit hole. Looks like times have really change.

I do understand that a lot of people even in health care are hesitant to take the vaccine since it's so new. Hopefully there will be less virus in the population on the whole and that will save those people from getting it.

The article feels navel-gazing and pointless, but I do agree with them (and yes, Dolly probably would too) that it's not a good idea to try to deify her or to make her into some way of being. Of course most people don't do that, but as the years pass, I notice that various political sites and culture sites have been writing to smaller and smaller audiences.

I'm sure soon enough we will have Twitter trends demanding we "cancel" Dolly (probably because she says she doesn't know kpop, or something). The good news is Dolly won't give a [!@#$%^&*].

    😂

Well...according to my co-workers,  my city is slowly approaching the part of the vaccination line that I am part of.

Nervous. Me and my manager co-worker were just discussing last week if we felt comfortable right now if we were to start taking it. Especially since she has a preexisting condition.

    LOVE.

I really hope you decide to get it. Having jobs where you face the public seems so risky to me without it.

  13. I've been looking at weed stocks, but I haven't made any decisions yet.

I still have my shares of GME and AMC, but I'm not expecting much to happen with them. There are still a lot of people who think there will be a squeeze on GME. We'll see next week I guess.

  14. I'm sad about the minimum wage too. People in those positions deserve to make a living wage. It's unfair that it has been the same for 11 years now. I hope some sort of progress can be made on this issue, even if the number ends up being $12.

It hasn't even been two months, so I don't have an opinion on how things are going yet. I do think that the Dems should do absolutely everything they can do as fast as they can do it without compromise.  Let in a large number of refugees, redistribute wealth and increase the social safety net. Do it all like we only have two years to get it done because that may very well be the case.

  15. It's true that you never know what some lunatic will do. Still, I'd say one of the few things that still unites people is a love for dogs. Don't get me wrong, I know there are people who don't care for animals, but I can guarantee you Ted Cruz did not help himself by abandoning that dog. Just like NewsMax isn't doing itself any favors by punking on Champ. A love for pets is bipartisan.

It's not as if this were a hurricane and he had to risk his kids or leave the dog.  He could have driven them all to a warm hotel out of state and then come back to Texas to help his people. What a complete tool. This is a lot like Mitt Romney strapping his dog to the roof of his car. People don't just forget it.
