They should have made her a drunk earlier. Explain some behavior. Again, it wouldn't make Natalia likeable but it would have gone a bit of a way to understand some of her obnoxious takes.

Eva is a little cold on screen. She's in the same vein as Robin Christopher to me. I don't think they are bad they just aren't inherently likeable either.

The sad thing is I know exactly what Natalia is trying to say because phones in 2008 lol.

Well, now I think we all need to see that. Van can be a lot and is also not my first choice for Lucas, but I think he's likeable and fun. It doesn't read Lucas as a character IMO yet it doesn't bother me at the same time if that makes sense. He never seems bored or phoning it in which is half the battle on GH at this point.

The one time Mo's disinterest actually works. He's literally wondering if he can write this off as a tax deduction.

I think Eva is a very seasoned vet and won't put this job at the top of her resume. She seems like an intelligent woman and will probably call this a loss. The, welp, this character always sucked take by her makes me like her more.

She should have realized trouble when she signed the contract. But I could see Eva thinking the slight reform of the character, the addition of more family, and a possible Sonny pairing would have saved her for a bit. I don't think anything would have saved that character long term. I just could see her reasoning. I am still of the mind that they should have paired her with Sonny short term. Not because I care about her or a Sonny pairing. Now it's just some random alcoholic died that no one cares about. It has zero impact. I guess Marco might be sad. Blaze won't even leave her Ricky Martin tour lol. At least Eva got paid I suppose? I think there were some behind the scenes shenanigans with Blaze/Kristina and everything got really messed up for Natalia. The show tried half-heartedly and just called it a loss. That's fine to me because I do appreciate that actively happening on GH when they tend to keep people for years and years, but I do feel bad for Eva. I don't think there was ever a true way to recover from firing the gay daughter and leaving the homophobic mother on the show.

Yeah, I heard Marco say that more than once lol. I am absolutely not blaming this on Marco, but showing his mom's drunken texts to Lucas and being like, oh well? was humorous. And saying this happens all the time when Natalia wasn't even a drunk until last month. The woman couldn't even complete a sentence. Eva La Rue gives a pretty decent interview about her departure basically saying, yeah, the character just didn't happen.

It looked like Natalia had a panic attack when she got back to her room, took medication, and drank half a bottle of whiskey/bourbon/rum and then forgot she took her pills and kept taking them. Sonny's guard kept asking for her to come out and said it was time to go, so I don't think it was poison. She just passed out. I am not even sure you could categorize Natalia's messages as world salad. It was more auto correct actively working against her lol.

Didn't Natalia just OD? It didn't look like she was poisoned. She was just drinking and taking anxiety? pills. Also, can Natalia not voice text in 2025?

To me the problem is the next generation is not great? And that's on Days and I have said they relied on vets for way too many years. Deidre Hall could practically be my grandmother, but I wouldn't watch the show without Marlena. That's specific to me though. Marlena is Days to me and I slug along everyday with bad sets, bad wardrobe, blue lighting, and Peacock being a mess because I want to see my characters. I don't think her arc is done. She's just beginning a new arc post-John. If Deidre, Susan, and Suzanne want to continue allowing us to watch them I am all for it.

Mfundo was just out of his league with a character that got very little nuanced writing. Phillips and to a lesser extent Monti Sharp could play around with the character and make Justus more fully formed. I have always thought Monti Sharp was overrated and totally miscast though. Mfundo was just like I guess we will cast Justus today and see who shows up for auditions lol.

It's obviously a disservice to AJ as a character, but also to Sonny. I know, you hate Sonny, but he killed his son's biological father in cold blood. The show ran with it for a few months and Michael forgave him and Sonny faced no real consequence. If you are going to write that story-WRITE IT- instead of chickening out. Someday, someone will care Jagger is dead too. Your ideas are great. I think Joseph Phillips is on the Ingo end of problematic, so probably not him. Funny, I always thought the show went too young with later Justus recasts. They never had the gravitas Phillips had.

Thanks! I remember Justus dying, but I couldn't recall if he showed up at that monastery or whatever (I know you know what I am talking about) after or if that was his true ending lol. A.J. should be brought back now. He reappears at Monica's funeral. It can be a short arc. He reveals himself to Michael and Jason then leaves because Sonny thinks he's dead. Then you can bring him back permanently later on. Obviously, Sean Kanan wouldn't agree to that though. I would bring Keesha back after with AJ's child and perhaps Justus's secret son that she raised. Then I would fold the mystery of Justus possibly being alive in. I think the show said non-appearing Zoe was in med school back in the day so she's an option. Maya-eh-I never really cared for her.

I mean it's silly to suggest ditching Marlena after the major real life losses on the canvas, but I actually think Deidre's acting is better than it was in the late 90's and early 2000's. She more subdued and she stopped gasping and overreacting to dialogue. I think her performances through John's disappearance/death have been much more grounded and realistic. And this is from someone who loved her silly, overdramatic performances lol!

You've said this before and I think it's a great idea to have one of Keesha's kids be A.J.'s. I don't think Keesha even had an established career before she left so you could fit her in anywhere. I don't necessarily see her as a Dr/nurse, but perhaps a social worker? It lines up with the idea of the Ward house. Even if the story didn't have major impact I wish A.J. was brought back from the dead. It was horrible the character went out being killed by Sonny. Justus is dead too, correct? IIRC, his death was very sudden after Justus hadn't appeared for awhile. One of those Sonny rivals killed him instead of Jason? or something. You could easily bring him back. He would obviously end up in that Portia, Curtis, Jordan bubble, but if they recast correctly it could be a good love interest for Lois. If Rena is even still on the show lol.

I always preferred Keesha with AJ. A good recast could change that though. Keesha hasn't been seen in years, so you could pretty much give her any backstory. Tbh, I don't even know if Keesha got an exit or why she left-she just stopped appearing at some point lol. I don't think I would kill Jason off even if Steve left. It's still another dead Quartermaine. I'd consider killing Sonny off first (if they can't get Vanessa back). Even marginalized like he is today, I feel like Jason is less played out than Sonny.

Well, I suppose the show had to do something. Everything else has tanked and KeMo played her cards on the Jason/Sam situation and lost. Becky still is around but a Liz/Jason pairing would be such a backslide-yet they are still teasing her with Ric.

Not exactly in the general hierarchy. But I think Steve, Mo, and Tony had a big say in their stories. I think a lot was done to keep those guys happy.

I honestly don't even fully blame Guza. I feel it's more on Steve. I think Sonny and Jason's 90's popularity made writers afraid to mess with the entire plot. It was all working until it wasn't. Both were also coasting on very popular female leads and once Kim, Vanessa, and Sarah took a hike it stopped being as "romantic" or viable. There were hints here and there Jason was getting his memory back like when he fixed the paper Christmas tree dove/bird for Lila and it didn't really pan out.

Listen, you are preaching to the choir here. I have been saying this for years. There is a much more interesting story for Jason about getting his memories back and reconciling the two lives he's lived. It's better than Jason saving the day.......AGAIN. With Alan, Monica, AJ, Lila, Edward, etc gone it wouldn't make a ton of sense to do it now. Barely anyone even remembers OG Jason at this point. I've always wondered why Guza/Steve didn't want to go back. The eventual point to the whole thing would have been Jason getting his memory back at some point, right?

It's strange because I don't think Steve ever gave a clear reason WHY he didn't want to be a Q anymore. I know he didn't want to go back to goody two shoes, ugly sweater wearing Jason Q, but there was a happy medium to be found. He and Mo seem to think being a bad rip off of the Sopranos was macho and cool lol. It's too late to un-ring the bell now, but Jason absolutely should have gotten his memory back at some point.

I agree Sarah holds all the cards, but not because of money. Sarah is privy to all the illegal things Xander has done in the past. Even if he got away with most of it, no judge would give him full custody. He's a criminal. Sarah is a Dr. from a respectable family and while she does boneheaded things-she's a good person. There really isn't a fight here.

Brook Lynn looked like a plant yesterday. I was trying to laugh at Natalia being drunk, but I kept getting distracted by Amanda's hideous shirt. Sonny flirting with the ADA is absolutely cringey. I don't think Donnell's performance has changed in the last year or so, but if you watch clips from when Curtis first started to now I think it's noticeable. I really enjoy Jason as a Q again. You know I like Jason/Steve more than most, but it's annoying that we had to wait for Steve to be okay with it to get to this point. I do think the Billy Miller/Covid firing/divorce humbled Steve. I like Jason's scenes with the Q's, the kids, Michael, and even Sasha better than his scenes with Sonny and Carly.

Oh, you know I think Tanisha is bad. I just don't think she's actively tanking scenes on purpose. I'd be fine with a Curtis/Nina pairing at this point because Portia needs to get out of this lying to Curtis box. It's over. Pair her with someone else. Heck, angry pair her with Drew after he gets over his Willow obsession.
