I know I have heard Orpheus mention it, at least in passing. I still don't know why exactly he hates John though. It seems Orpheus was heavily leaning into a Stefano moment of Marlena obsession, but then he always wanted to murder her a bunch so it's unclear.

Xander is Victor's son, but thought he was his nephew until Victor's will. His mom is an alcoholic who ran Sarah down then left town. He's got a kid with Sarah and then is related to the rest of the Kiriakis brood. I would argue Orpheus lost his purpose years ago. I lost the plot with Orpheus when his entire beef was with John and not Roman. The person who actually killed his wife. Too be kind I'll just say it looks like Chandler was a bit out of practice at the old acting game. He's never stopped smirking.

I am the first to say I don't have the perfect scenario for John's death in my head. I think it would have had something to do with saving the world from Orpheus and killing Orpheus once and for all, but losing his own life in the effort. I am actually sad Orpheus is still alive and well doing dastardly deeds. I GET the saving Bo idea. I just am not sure I want to say, "Oh, yeah, John died in a meth lab. Some kid attacked him and he burned to death" I love all the actors coming back to pay tribute. It's lovely. I think it would have been smarter for Marlena, Kayla, etc to say this is grave for John-it's time to say goodbye. Not add in all the "he's doing great and on the road to recovery". I assume it's a nod to Drake about always fighting, but, man, if you didn't know Drake had passed the rug would be pulled out from under you next week as an audience member.

Yes. I found it tacky too. I would have preferred John to die off screen as well. Although I do enjoy everyone getting a chance to say goodbye and then wander around the hospital giving 3 second life updates to one another lol. I don't doubt the actors are crying real tears. I honestly find it tackier that the show is dragging this part on and saying John's recovery is a miracle and he's doing so much better when we know the ending. That's just my opinion. I do see a lot of praise for the story.

Sometimes I think GH forgets it's Friday lol. Today's episode was fine, but a letdown after the rest of the week.

Even if you put the rape and the fact he was married to her sister for so long, it's a bit hard for me to buy EJ/Belle have strong feelings for one another. They've known one another for years and years and there was never any indication they were attracted to each other until recently. Then the first time they hooked up EJ immediately dumped her, went on to marry Nicole and steal her own brother's baby, then slept with Gabi. I don't see any appeal for Belle here outside the obvious. I do think MM and DF have nice chemistry though. On a different note, what is on Belle's shirt? Are they people running, crawling, riding bikes, in wheelchairs, all of the above? The shirt is so distracting. Worn on TV wasn't much help as I still couldn't get a close up picture.

But it's from a viewpoint of I didn't watch back then so it didn't happen lol. It's really not a huge deal. We generally share the same views. But ignoring big plot holes doesn't make it a good story because actors are doing great work. I actually mentioned you had a good point about fallout.

I think it's a bit dismissive to just hand wave all the inaccuracies in this story because we are getting a few weeks of good material off this. I do agree the follow through is a different discussion, but I would bet in 3 months time everything will be all good in the Lois, BLQ, Dante, Gio world.

But why would Maggie want to deal with owning the hospital? What does she gain? People could buy the hospital in town, but only a few know or care about the drug which is the only reason these two jokers want the hospital. Sure, Sarah keeps her job, but Sarah is a Dr. of all trades. She can find a new place to practice. I think Stefano and Victor were both equally rich lol.

I agree. Gio, Dante, and Brook are all decent people. Gio gets a family unit, BLQ and Dante get to know their son, people will yell at Lulu and Lois, and everyone will be happy a few months from now. It will be like the Trina/Curtis reveal.

Maggie actually said to Kayla she didn't have enough liquid assets to buy the hospital a few weeks ago during the auction. I guess she could sell off some homes and cars or refinance to make it happen, but she was basically giving all she could in the moment. She also gave payouts to Victor's family that was left out of his will awhile back. From the details we are getting EJ is using his own personal fortune and Xander is using Titan Dimera money.

100% agree about Giovanni Mazza. I am invested in Dante and especially Lois. Brook Lynn has always been kind of a nothing character to me. I don't think any iteration of the character has been stellar. AL's first run was probably the closest the show got to making Brook Lynn what I thought she'd be as an adult, but she was pushed aside for a lot of other characters even back then. With Rena it's hard for me to say. I think her only demand was not to be re-paired with Wally and she just rolls with the writing and likes meaty material. I don't get the sense that Rena is that invested in Lois's character integrity and that's not a dig at her. She just played the character for a few years in her life and probably isn't as concerned as the actors that have played roles for decades. I am 100% sure I think about Lois's character trajectory more than Rena does 😂 1995-1996. She was everywhere lol. All the stories.

I don't think he would have been a bad Cameron recast, but the show really wanted to incorporate the violin. He had to be a new character unless the show decided Cameron took up the violin and is an expert after his 1 year at Stanford playing soccer lol.

The thing is I think Giovanni Mazza works on his own. GH obviously had no initial plan for him, but he's likeable, cute, and charismatic. He needed a story with Trina or Emma. He didn't need to be related to everyone in town to make him work.

It's crazy to me because Guza probably should have done this plot when they re-introduced AL's Brook in 2010. Instead he went with the Dante/Brenda non-baby story so his two favorite toys could play together. I would have bought that story back then, TBH.

I think the story in theory is good. I don't believe Brook Lynn, Lois, and Dante are the right characters for this. It becomes wild retcon on top of wild retcon. We watched AL's Brook Lynn talk about losing her virginity to Diego. Dante and BLQ had multiple conversations about them always being friends. Dante told Lulu nothing ever happened between him and Brook Lynn. We saw Cody and Brook Lynn meet on the show. There was no indication they knew one another previously. Brook Lynn faked an entire pregnancy for Maxie and wasn't triggered at all by her previous pregnancy? Brook Lynn never once questioned Gio's existence and her family's obsessiveness over him? I mean, that fact was added like a month ago, but c'mon, Brook Lynn's not that dumb. Am I enjoying the fallout of this story? Yes, but you practically have to throw out everything you knew about Lois, BLQ, and Dante to make it work and that is annoying to me. With Setton in the role we've already lost Brook Lynn's unique style, edge and her singing talent. Brook Lynn's basically become an entirely different character and not in a good way.

The recast really tanked the character. I was team Sophia when Madelyn Kientz played her. I liked her more than Holly. Now Sophia just walks around on the verge of tears looking meek and scared. I think now that the show has recast and aged Ari, Sophia is probably on her way out.

Probably Kmc as Robin on GH? Not trying to deny Christie any love because she's amazing and beautiful and fantastic.
