I think those lack of Emmy wins early on really bothered MB. He often had a lot of people around him telling he was robbed on Emmys as well. Anyhow, MB/Sonny were so intense early on and he had such interesting, heavy story with Brenda, Stone, Lily, Carly and he clearly got bored or wanted a very specific type of storyline for himself when he had more power behind the scenes. I think personally for himself it was easier mentally. That's not an excuse for him-I just think that is his mindset. I don't think MB sees it as talking down to others, but as him really trying to help these younger actors. He just comes off like a jerk. But again, Vanessa, for example, seems to laugh it off and agree with that assessment. I am sure not every actor he 'mentored' feels the same lol, but with his mental struggles I tend to cut him a little more slack with how he interacts with people or how he words things. Idk, that's just my take every else could feel differently.

I definitely think MB has a big ego, but it doesn't seem like it's an issue with many of his co-stars. Outside of a few things he admits everyone seems to like him fine? If Vanessa, Kim, Chad, etc are good with it, then why should we care? I am not condoning bad behavior or anything, but it seems like they all good friends. MB probably does think he's awesome, but people and the press treat him like he's Brando. I wonder if MB would reach out to old co-stars on AMC. He seems to bring on guests he is still in touch with or close with. Is he close with any former AMC co star?

I love that scene. So true. I am surprised they didn't bring up the Sam/Sonny stuff too because I was thinking about that as a viewer. And even if Sam/Carly are long past that, Sam could have discussed it and how bad she felt or whatever or gave her perspective or something deeper.

They are both pretty open about telling this story lol. It doesn't seem to bother Vanessa? They still seem very close and actually closer than I thought they were at their peak. Vanessa always played down a favorite in the S/B/J triangle and seemed close to Ingo, but the last decade or so is only pro Mo/Sonny -even before the Ingo stuff really came out. I have to imagine Mo does respect her now and has to realize Sonny would not have taken off as a character without the Brenda pairing. Anyhow, it sounds like MB has an ego and has treated people badly and he does admit that. On the other hand, so many actors sing his praises in the press without prompting so he must be helpful to them in some ways. I think MB is a lot more mellow than he used to be and seems to at least own his bad past behavior. Idk, my stance on him has changed for the better in recent years.

MB and VM keep saying they are going to do it, but I guess they just haven't? Not sure why. I am sure they eventually will. Or maybe MB is saving it for later because of the (presumably) larger audience it would get.

This. I won't go into the 2019 return but they wasted Genie. I think a lot of her time was spent with Victor and the faux Marlena stuff and the show just aborted the fairly popular RoJohn/Diana pairing. The did have a wedding. It was just 'for them' and not legal on purpose. Weren't they teasing Holly/Mac? Some of my first memories of Holly (before you tube) were of her, Mac, and Robin.

I actually really liked him as Bo. If he wasn't such a horrible person, I would have actively wanted him back when Peter left again. But that's not the case. I can't believe other soaps snapped him up after his behavior.

Yes. Was RKK that popular to begin with on AW? I admit I liked him as Bo, but he never wowed me otherwise.

First time Rib Hillis and Jessica Morris have been relevant in years here lol.. Anyhow, I was thinking it was a one last kiss thing, but I have no idea. That would have to have been a very hard bite. And to hypothetically think they got past that and got back together? Lol.

I like new Taggart too, but he feels different than the other Taggerts if that makes sense? More casual and less uptight. I always think of Real's Taggert as very serious and New Taggert didn't come off that way.

I have heard Marlena mention DJ here and there over the years but never Don lol. I am drifting the thread, but I wonder how much staying power Don would have had if DJ had lived. Probably more, but we did spend the 90's pretending Carrie was John/Marlena's kid so it didn't help Anna much. Anyway, I don't think that was anywhere near Days worst story. Outside from obvious clunkers with weird sci-fi stuff I think I would point to the Tale of 2 Romans. Not only was the story bad, it changed Days irreversibly in a bad way.

Thanks. I knew there was something ridiculous about Wayne Northrop pretending a mask made him as tall as Don. I remember Don being heavily involved. When do you think is the last time Marlena even mentioned Don? 30 years ago lol?

Totally normal I assume lol. Most days real life is more dramatic than soaps. I just get so grossed out about her biting his lip like that. It's like I cannot imagine ever biting someone that intensely. Outside of domestic violence-which I am not condoning at all-that is so nauseating to me.

Lily low key should have been the Tin Man! Leaving origami gum wrappers everywhere lol. I am just kidding, but there was some room to have her hook up with Jax or something. But ClinkBoom is Guza's Opus so I get why it remains unchanged. The weekend we had to wait when I was a kid to learn if Lily blew to bits was challenging. I have said this before, but I was always sure she lived.

So lol I would have loved Lily come back as a crazy undead stalker. Again, I feel like this borders on weird Sonny/Brenda fanfiction, but it would have been so cool for Lily to come back for revenge. I like her death was actually permanent but there was a fun undead story there. The Lily doppelganger story was offensive. I freaking hate Lily but that was a disservice to Lilly Melgar. And like not even relevant because she was haunting him when he was married to Carly. It would have been relevant to Brenda only.

I think the Days thing is fair. Wasn't Jed Allan running around wearing a faux Roman mask to help Doc too? I think there is a case for John being Roman as well, but I think everyone liked that story.

I am sure you are right. They just put Sabrina in the oddest corner. She was so virginal but had a long standing romance with Lily's brother? Is he Lily's brother? Idek. And they made her related to Juan/Miguel. Like way to tank a character lol. Poor Abby and the crane that hit her off screen. Did that actress do something to piss off TPTB? Lol

I guess it's bad they killed her off, but I can't say I miss her lol. I never disliked her and she actually got better once she stopped acting like a 12 year old girl around Patrick. Again, killing her was harsh but I feel like she got a good character run for what she was.

Okay. That's a good one but he was still lesser to Jesse. I think Lorenzo actually got to be the more fleshed out character of the twins? Cousins? Lookalikes? which is rare. I am not a huge Alcazar fan but I feel like the show tried with him moreso than most.

To be fair, you knew the show was going to try it. I am shocked they never tried TB's Kim with Sonny. It's just weird because Claudia isn't even the type of woman Sonny would be attracted to.

I can't even think of a twin I liked. Maybe Lorenzo/Luis? I get the temptation on that. Put her with her old screen partners and it will just be magic. I thought Claudia was good with TC's Nik.

At least Days is doing a good job of promoting things to come post-olympic break. I am actually excited about it.

I have never doubted Sarah as an actress. I think she is very specific though. I think she does need the right character. She can come off cold if the character lacks. I liked her as Claudia. I just hate the "we are going to pretend she wasn't another huge character on this show crap". And the wink, wink they do despite that. It immediately takes me out. I don't think I have ever liked the 2nd character a major actor has played on a soap. The TBC....on todays show cracked me up too. Like, man, I was really hoping this would continue on Monday. Like it has for the past 50 plus years.......
