Same. I thought that's what realRoman would do lol. John was so silly on that stand. I don't want to think about the whole thing more than I have to but why can Brady's possible crime against Phillip be brought up? I understand Kristen's crimes can't be, but how can Kristen bring up something Brady was never charged with? Or crimes Marlena was never charged with? Yeah, Doc's practice briefly suffered and I was kind of interested in some repercussions, but that was clearly dropped months ago.

Are they bringing Phillip back? All this talk of him makes me think it's possible. I liked Roman tried to help Brady and tell the truth. It's nice when a character does something actually in character. Wow, that custody trial was a huge waste of everyone's time. With this, like the mini Sarah/Xander plot, they could have cut it out entirely and focused on the two A stories right now (Abby's death and Marlena, Kayla dying). You could still use Belle/Brady and Sarah/Xander, but in those stories where they would still be relevant. It does seem like Marlena is the worst off even though she seemed like the best off in the beginning. And.......even if it's not contagious Kate and Kayla up and around coughing all over is gross especially in a restaurant and hospital lol. I guess we are to assume Marlena's business has recovered and that crisis is over since she was talking to a patient today not named Ben.

Thanks for such a detailed explanation! I wasn't a big fan of the show at this time, but I did like Nathan/MH. He wasn't a terribly memorable character, but he was a character I could see bringing back throughout the years. Interesting stuff about Will and Melanie. I always thought Mia might end up being Nicole's daughter, but perhaps I am mistaken. Who was reading for Will from GH? The actor that played Logan?

Thanks! In theory, I suppose Melissa and Pete could have reunited off screen. For some reason I thought Melissa mentioned she was married at B/H's wedding, but I could be mistaken. Since Nathan uses the last name Horton I would assume he's not especially close to his father. I wonder if the show intentionally left it vague in case they decided to make it Jack or Pete or someone on canvas down the line. But much like his mother, Nathan failed to make much an impact-even though I did like him.

Is it about Chavez? That's where my mind went, but I wasn't sure. As far as Mo, I think he is just kind of a jerk lol. I think the podcasts are okay and informative, but he tends to make everything come back to him. His book was the same way. He said and did awful things to people and while he seems remorseful, it just comes off as very egocentric. I don't think he's a bad person or even trying to be. I just think he's got a huge ego. For the most part, he seems to get along with most of the cast and a lot of people speak highly of him. I do know I like MB more than most on here. I think he really does just say stupid things sometimes. Which isn't an excuse at all because it was an unnecessary comment to make in the first place.

By the time Sabrina was killed off she wasn't as annoying. Although I honestly don't remember much of her story post Patrick. I didn't care that she died, but with her and Courtney it almost felt like a waste of the viewers time to just kill a character off that had so much time invested in them if that makes sense. Sabrina just could have left instead. And............I don't think Michael deserved better lol.

@victoria foxtonI actually think it possibly could be related to Chanel/Sweet Bits, but with the way Craig's been written who knows?

I know you are joking, but that actually sounds like a plausible Ron/Jamey Giddens thing.🤣

Sure, today is a perfect example of something that isn't a budget problem. We could have cut out this entire Xander/Sarah separation and fight and spent the whole episode developing the murder mystery. If Jackie Cox is the killer I truly give up. No one would care. I barely care about Craig, but it will at least effect some people on the canvas lol. Why would Craig smell like Vanilla though? Was he baking pre-stabbing?

DAYS: September 2022 Discussion Thread ⌛
The real problem with the show is the loss of the sense of community. Everyone on Days used to know each other's business and most of the cast would be involved in one problem unlike GH or YR where people sometimes don't cross paths at all. Up until the budget was slashed, the whole town of Salem went to Aremid or Paris. Half the cast went to Greta's coronation. Weddings were a huge deal. If this was 15 years ago, everyone would have been at Sarah/Xanders wedding. Everyone related to Kayla, Marlena, and Kate would pop up at the hospital to see what's going on or lend support. I know the budget issues are real, but Ron has to figure out a way to connect people in the town to make things feel more important and not just a series of insular events happening to a few people.

Lol! I don't want to see more of Clyde/Nancy. My point was one relationship is overdeveloped and one is totally underdeveloped. Every story is like this. Kayla, Marlena, and Kate are dying and we haven't seen them in days and Belle/Brady were just fighting the custody case. So they either don't care about their parents or don't know. It's unclear. Stories just disappear for weeks at a time including this murder mystery.

For whatever reason Xander/Sarah get a lot of airtime and do a lot of nothing. They are either fighting about something or making out in their hotel room. I am glad all the drugging and amnesia/Renee stuff is over, but I don't think Sarah should have been eliminated as a suspect so early. Today's Sarah/Xander/Maggie/Jack scenes had more screentime than Nancy and Clyde's entire relationship.
-
DAYS: September 2022 Discussion Thread ⌛
I really can't stand Sarah, so it's easier for me to ff or just do something else when she's on screen. At least she's not acting like Renee anymore. To think I actually used to like Sarah/Xander. Nancy/Clyde are such a ridiculous pairing. They have nothing in common, no build up, no chemistry and, again, Nancy was a stable, sane person her entire life and after being with Craig 30 plus years she's going to up and marry a guy a few months later? The Abby death scene reminded me of Kate/Connie on GH where she spelled out the initials of her killer in blood instead of verbalizing it-so silly. I guess after talking it out on here there is a logical way to make Jen Abby's killer. Why would she hurt Sonny though? Did he find out the truth? I bet Jen smells like Vanilla lol I have a hard time believing anyone would find Leo appealing. Their love scenes were super awkward. Craig could obviously very easily snag a much better guy.

I believe when Jen and Maggie were talking Jennifer said she has been taking the pills since Laura died. I suppose Jen could have been so high she was hallucinating and thought she was killing Gwen and not Abby. Yeah, I never pictured Craig with Leo. He's gay not someone who's lost all taste and common sense. You know they will explain this away with Craig having a mental breakdown and that's why he did it. The pain of losing Leo made him lose his mind. 🤮
-
DAYS: September 2022 Discussion Thread ⌛
To Ron, Craig is shocking even though people were calling it months ago. It would be shocking if it was Jennifer, but that's even worse than Craig. Jen wouldn't do that even high on pills. I just don't know how they are going to even explain Craig. He spent 55 plus years on earth as a non-homicidal, mostly loving husband and father and just decides to come out, get married to Leo and started killing people too? Maybe it is someone shocking. Maybe it's Alex. It's right up RSW's acting "strengths" to play a serial killer.

So those seemingly crazy rumors about Craig for months were true? UGH......I can't believe Kevin Spirtas agreed to come back for this.

I think it was common knowledge Guza always took credit for all of it. I just assumed there was some sort of outline left for the Lily character that Labine created or at least a very clear idea. It could be all Guza's brainchild and I generally don't think it matters who came up with it, but to me there were signs Lily was going to meet a tragic end from the start. The show played up her and Sonny's comfortability/friendship with one another from the start. Regardless of it all Guza and his writers came up with a lot of the intricacies of it all and added Jax, which was a stroke of genius or very lucky. I don't dislike Guza. I miss him at times. Things happened. There were cool events. I just think there was a trajectory for the Lily character from the start unless someone really thought Miguel and Lily would take off which is possible as well. I am not arguing actual facts, but I thought Labine actually left stuff to play out before she went to OLTL

GH: Classic Thread
Idk, I always thought Claire was leaving anvils for Lily's demise long before Guza took over, but that could be a hindsight thing. It was a true twist to me at the time, but looking back it truly seems like the inevitable. It was genius regardless. I always crack up when Sonny tells Brenda in the cave sex episodes that the hitman (carbomb man) was looking for a pretty brunette and it was meant to be Brenda, not Lily. What a horrible description for a potential hitman especially when the two girls look so alike. That's when you knew the wheels were falling off with Culliton post Guza. I mean not only that but ooof 1997 was a rough year. Guza burned through a lot of material quickly, but it didn't feel rushed if that makes sense? Even Lois/Ned moved at lightning speed through it all. When you think about all the things Brenda, Robin, Jason, AJ etc went through in that year period when they are all so young it's crazy. But like you said even Monica/Alan and Luke/Laura were all moving quickly.

Also known as the GREATEST day in GH history 🤣 Thank you! I always knew she started in September, but I always forget what day. Perhaps the 2nd GREATEST day in GH history? I loved this montage and episode. So good. You are correct Clink/Boom was in May 1996. @titan1978I always though Clink/Boom originated as a Labine idea or outline and Guza executed it. I had no idea it was all Guza. A lot of things happened in those six months- Sonny's arrest, Jax/Brenda's relationship, Sonny/Lily's marriage, Lily getting pregnant. That's a lot of material to come up with. I remember thinking so much story happened between Sonny/Brenda's breakup initially and clink boom and it was only in about 9 months of actual time. I don't actually remember Brenda's first day. I have obviously seen clips, but I don't remember much about her until her/Jagger become a couple and she's not even really on my radar until she starts dating Sonny. Same with Sonny. I remember him with Karen, but I didn't pay attention to him until he hooked up with Brenda. I honestly don't think I have ever really seen all of the Karen/Sonny/Stripping story to this day.

I agree it was really hard to navigate-especially during the Olympics. They have since removed all the Olympic coverage from Peacock unfortunately. Now if you go to sports and click on figure skating it's much easier to find. Gymnastics doesn't have it's own icon for whatever reason so I usually go to upcoming in the sports icon or just search Gymnastics and you can find it. I enjoyed their Golden Gymnastics doc and Meddling about the 2002 skating controversy even though it didn't cover anything new really. Anyhow, without going into too many details of my life I am highly invested in figure skating and struggled for years paying for crappy feeds for expensive prices, so I love Peacock for that alone. Again, for me Peacock is absolutely worth the $4.99 I pay because I watch it a lot. I personally would still pay for it for Days alone, but I don't think Days is doing anything to make it worth it at the moment. I do actually find myself watching Days consistently though because I can put it on anytime which is helpful.

DAYS: September 2022 Discussion Thread ⌛
Honestly, I have had Peacock for a few years. I pay for it for the figure skating coverage alone and would with or without Days. Plus I get Sunday Night Football and Real Housewives and Gymnastics. Days is like a new thing Peacock has more so than the reason I signed up. So in the end I am not a good judge of how much Days is worth. If Days got cancelled I'd still keep Peacock. I mean, there isn't a whole lot on Days I want to pay for. The nostalgia and seeing Deidre and Drake are most of it. But if I only watched and paid for Days I guess it would be around that price lol.
