  1. I don't really like Allie being uptight. It just wasn't how she was introduced. I hate the trope that a party girl is completely changed by having a child. I mean, it does happen, but on soaps it happens to everyone. I appreciate Allie grew up and matured, but so did Chanel and she's still fun.
  2. I agree about the Chabby scenes. Nice for the fans and even I enjoyed them. I really don't like this Allie. I know motherhood and her trauma changed her, but she's no fun at all. She's like an uptight old lady now lol. I enjoy all 3, but Allie is definitely the heavy here.
  3. Very true about CM's lack of connection to her on screen children. Through her run on the show though I do think she's historically spent more time with Matt, so he came to mind first. I will cut Cady some slack with the children because Missy came back a few times and her connection with Marci really shined through and it made CM's job that much harder. I wonder if she studied any of Jennifer's history or watched any of Missy's performances because I don't see a whole lot of Jen shining through. I don't mind if she has her own take on Jennifer, but some key characteristics seem missing or way off. Lol! About that eulogy. It was so awkward and stiff. That is exactly what I was thinking of when I commented about her diction. I have no idea why Matt didn't just do it. There are definitely times where I think Julie, Hope, and Jennifer have played their characters snobby, judgey and uppity. It wouldn't be my overall description of the Hortons, but they aren't working class like the Brady's either. I have never thought of Jennifer as being overly interested in proper English when speaking though. She has always had a pretty casual way of conversing, unlike, say, Marlena who is pretty proper when speaking to everyone even John and her family. I liked Gwen as well in the beginning. It's a shame her character has gone down the path she has. That is a very fair point about RC and dropping pets. I just don't think Jack is quite as dependent on Jen as he was in the past. There has been some effort to branch him out with other characters and that wasn't the case before. As far as Marlena and her children, I do get what you are saying about her and EM and GV. Obviously she has spent years with Christie and Ali so that's obvious. DH and Martha seemed to click right away as well. With EM/Brady, I have never thought the Brady/Marlena adult relationship was very well defined. Sometimes Marlena is like his mother other times she's just a woman his dad married. The show considers Sami/Eric his siblings, but Brady keeps Marlena at arm's length usually and I don't think either actor knows how to play it exactly. With Eric, he was gone so long and has always been the 'forgotten' twin and I don't think Deidre and GV ever really connected that well. I would say the same about him and Ali Sweeney and Josh Taylor. The only sibling he truly has chemistry with is EM. I think the effort is there on both GV and DH's part-it just comes off lesser than Marlena's daughters because historically throughout the show, her daughters have been more important. I think Dee does quite well with Allie/Johnny/Claire (especially Allie/Claire) too.
  4. Lol! And the father of his grandchild. But more than that they were close in the 90's. He knew about Marlena/John's affair and was on board with it. I don't think they ever had a falling out. They just stopped sharing scenes. Again, it doesn't really make a difference in story, but I liked that relationship and I felt it gave John someone outside of Roman/Marlena's sphere that was family to him.
  5. Well, no worries. Jen as a character has been on more than Drake not specifically Cady, but it will be close. So I am wrong about that lol. I actually did look it up. But.. with the length of time she's been on and the amount of stories I would still say recurring. Nancy/Craig have actually been on more than John and Jen this year, but it's basically for one story arc so I would still consider them guests. But that's just me.
  6. I would argue Cady is recurring and heavily recurring at that. She's been on more than Drake Hogestyn this year I believe. She's no longer a guest. I would say Craig/Nancy are more like heavily used guests unless their stay is lengthened.
  7. That's an actual good thing though 🤣
  8. I basically agree with everything you said. Although I do think Jack's position on the show is stronger than usual because Gwen is such a RC favorite. Arguably stronger than Jen's at this point. Cady just has a coolness about her portrayal that feels disconnected. And just a complete lack of chemistry with Matt. Missy has a likeability and warmth when she plays Jennifer that Cady just doesn't quite have. Again, this is strictly based on Missy as an actress not anything about her beliefs or personal life. I didn't even notice the extensions lol. The voice and diction I did. Feels way too proper for the way Jennifer usually speaks. Do you think if they ever recast Marlena I would never have to see an ugly boxy blazer/pantsuit again?
  9. I really appreciate your opinion and take as a Jennifer fan. I never thought Missy was a bad actress. I just couldn't recall any particular highs or lows in her acting. It was very clear MR was so much of Jennifer especially when Stephanie Cameron took over. The spark was entirely gone with Jen and I am probably the only one that doesn't think SC was horrible. She just wasn't Jen. I also find your take on wanting Jennifer regardless really nice. I don't think I would want my favorites recast at all. I would rather have my actress and my character or not bother. It's great as a huge fan you can still see past that because I am too petty for that lol. Saying all that, I have never really taken to Cady in any role. I found Dixie the most annoying, but I can appreciate her talent. So that could completely cloud my judgement. The bottom line is Cady as Jennifer is very low on the list with my problems on Days. I just find her acting very uneven a lot.
  10. I don't either. I remember Missy crying, but nothing truly hysterical. But..I am also not the biggest Jennifer fan and can't remember everything she's done. But I don't believe she was hysterical when she got raped, when Peter "died", when Jack died several times, etc. @TonksadoraI am sure if Missy wanted play Jen she could. It doesn't appear that she wants to do full time. I don't fault Cady for taking the role, but I do think it's fair to critique her in the role.
  11. Lol! I know. That was surprising. I thought we'd just see Gwen lying on black pavement. I agree about Missy playing it. I think Cady is a fine actress, but she hits some really odd, hysterical notes that seem un-Jen like. It seems too much, and Jen is just a more low-key character to me in general even while high. Yes, the sobbing without tears bothers me as well. CM is a better actress than MR (and probably a better overall person), but MR brought more authenticity to Jen. I am sure it comes from playing the role since she was a teen, but I miss her.
  12. I think it's obvious something did. It's very clear they don't share scenes for a reason. Nothing has ever been confirmed, but IIRC the rumor was it had something to do with Deidre's ex-husband? Or there was some bitterness over Suzanne on Deidre's part taking over the main older heroine role when Dee got fired, which seems much more likely. Suzanne was in everyone's favorite movie Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story, so it appears they were close in real life for a time. We probably will never know, but the fact they NEVER speak dialogue when in the same seen together or even share scenes with one another when it's relevant makes it seem like something is up. Since in general it doesn't affect story, I would assume it will always just stay as is and they will move in different spheres forever lol.
  13. I agree. Interesting things were happening in theory, but they just weren't interesting in execution. As far as the hit and run, I'd rather it be implied then them trying to do something that looks super cheap.
  14. You are preaching the absolute truth. I just think the stakes would be lower since no one cares about Clyde and the suspect pool would be bigger. Anyhow, today's episode was boring. I thought Cady McClain's acting was all over the place. There were some characters in this show that were totally unnecessary like Xander/Sarah.
  15. Yes! Going on the run and having Clyde continue to commit the crimes would have been better. Throwing the kitchen sink of suspects in and having it be Clyde was a stupid mystery. Even Chad killing Clyde and having to deal with the repercussions of that would have been more interesting or someone killing Clyde and make that the mystery.
  16. Abby wanted to use her proper pronouns.🤣 I also think that's why Jackie Cox as the killer was bandied about so often lol. I mean I know. It's ridiculous. It totally reminds me of Kate croaking on GH and writing out AJ in blood. Did she not think that would be confusing? You got two letters why not do three and write Ava at that point?
  17. I think we are all over thinking Abby saying "They had a knife". I meant to post this earlier, but she was clearly saying the person who stabbed her (they) had a knife as a singular person to omit saying he/she. It wasn't multiple people. It's confusing to the audience, but I don't think it was an error or rewrite. If you think about how police or someone would describe an unknown suspect they would most like say "they had a knife" instead of referring to he or she. It's stupid for Abby to say that since she knew the gender, but she didn't say they had knives/weapons which would indicate multiple people more to me. Anyhow, now I am overthinking it. But I genuinely don't think it was a sloppy error. It was meant to be a singular killer all along. The rest of the story and its conclusion was sloppy, but that's another story. Today's episode sounds interesting to me. I will try to watch in a few. I like that you guys watch and give a rundown here. I don't mind being spoiled and like to know what I am getting myself into lol.
  18. You read my mind about Maggie/Marlena. I was totally going to post that in here and forgot lol. It's been about a decade since they've even shared a scene. It's most likely those backstage issues you mention, but I am sure the two of them could share a scene a few times a year. John/Victor-not a huge relationship, but I liked it. They were pretty close and did have a bit of a father/son bond, especially in the 90's. A few months ago Victor referred to John as "John Black" like he barely knew the man lol.
  19. No worries! Anytime I can talk about Vanessa is fine by me. 🤣
  20. Lol! Look at her. Still my queen. When I saw I was tagged and there was an insta story I thought my GH return dreams might have come true.
  21. Did Maggie just take Jen's word for it that she was done and disappear? Honestly, the show should at least have Maggie involved with this story. Even Lucas would have added a lot to this story. I didn't say this yesterday, but meant to. I think Nancy looks really nice. It's not an ideal outfit for a wedding, but it's such an improvement from when she returned. I know a lot is going on with Abby's murder, but are we only going to check in on Kayla/Kate/Marlena dying once a week on Wednesdays? Way to stop the momentum on that story.
  22. Lol! Well 800 signatures isn't exactly taking the world by storm, but at least he had a few fans. That's nice. I definitely didn't love Brando, but if I had to choose between Sasha/Brando and Willow/Michael I would choose Sasha/Brando every day.
  23. I have to admit I am enjoying drugged out Jen and that story. I wish it was Missy and I wish we saw more of a gradual progression of the addiction, but Cady's doing a good job. I just still have a hard time truly seeing her as Jen. Clyde's motivation and explanation of this murder is ridiculous. If he wanted to hurt EJ and keep his mouth shut he was going to kill Belle so EJ finds the body? Wouldn't just threatening EJ over Belle accomplish the same thing? Or threatening Shawn/Claire to Belle? And Clyde's anger over Ben/Abigail? Stupid. Ben's free and living his best life, so why should Clyde care? It's all really dumb, but, as I said before, I can't think of a resolution that would be satisfying to me on this and I am not even an Abby fan.
  24. 100% AGREE. Unfortunately, people would care about Belle dying and considering she has a police officer husband and a 'superspy' father it doesn't even make sense to kill her. Clyde, IMO, was literally in no danger of getting caught for EJ's shooting because Belle barely even cared until today.
