Agreed. That ended so abruptly. I can't believe that's just the triangle is just over, but, then again, EJ/Nicole ended in a minute and isn't ever spoken of. They don't even share scenes.

Belle is generally an afterthought in her own stories and on this show period, so I have a hard time believing she was the main motive in all this. I don't know if anything changed though. I also don't why Clyde would kill Abigail and try to kill Sonny instead of going after Belle again. Honestly, it's just a stupid motive. Even if Clyde killed Belle because of EJ's shooting it just would create a whole laundry list of new, more serious problems for Clyde over a case that was pretty much dead and no one cares about except EJ.

I don't feel like I know anything about Alex even though he's on a lot. He's just a walking cliche at this point. Maybe if they fleshed out the character a little more and dropped the cheesy, smarminess and Ben references.

There may be some legal protection for her as far as medical issues as well. I don't think KS/Maxie is even at the top of the list of things to fix on GH, but it's strange. We will never have any idea what she disclosed to TPTB as far as her health or issues. I just wondered if they have ever extended such consideration and help to other actors struggling. But, as you said, we are just randoms on a message board and will never know. I would just hope for her daughter she is in an okay place. Maybe they just didn't feel like paying Jennifer Sky? It's not like she was super memorable and Idk if most viewers would notice?

I don't necessarily disagree, but TPTB seemed determined to hang on to her. Those absences and issues would have gotten many other actors recast permanently, marginalized, or let go long ago. That's why I have always felt there was more to the story backstage. Maxie/KS isn't that popular and there has never been a super clear direction for Maxie. Idk, it's just a strange situation all around. There are plenty of actresses out there that could bring more to the table than KS does after Maxie.

I don't really want to speculate on KS's mental health because I know nothing about her really and I don't know a ton about mental health to begin with. I just don't think she looks physically ill these days and she did for years. Certain medications can cause you to gain weight and we at the very least know she's suffered for a lot of physical health problems. Anyway, I just think Maxie as a character needs a rest. They have given her so many children and love interests. I understand she is a legacy child, but this is where getting rid of Lulu and Georgie is so apparent. Those characters can carry some weight of all the storylines thrown at Maxie. Brook is a good addition, but it's large hole in the canvas. We need so more leads not named Willow in that age range that the audience is invested in. As far as Diane, I know CH is derisive with her politics, but Diane annoys me enough on her own for that to not even play into my dislike of the character. I know she's relatively popular, so to kill her off would be a mistake, but I wouldn't be sad about it.

Yeah, I can agree 1996 was the last year I recall liking everything, but in 2002 when Vanessa returned I liked pretty much everything to-it just wasn't a full solid year of good stories. There are still several years I look back fondly at post 1996. I can specifically state when Days went into a decline, but GH has had some peaks and valleys. I think most years I can think of a good story or event, even if the overall show wasn't great.

I actually agree with all this pretty much. I don't really think KS looks matronly though. Just unkempt. Her hair, her clothing, makeup, etc just doesn't work for most scenes. If Maxie was just sitting around at home with her kids she would look cute in that outfit. I have never liked KS as Belle or Maxie, but she was tolerable. I prefer Lilley, Richards, and Burnett. I love Melanie Jonas! Seriously. I am pretty sure someone said RR quit acting as I know I have asked about her in the past. Maxie and KS should have probably been rested years ago. KS seems like she is in a better place, but a few years off from Maxie having endless pairings/kids would help reinvigorate the character and the actress. I really can't stand Diane so I don't care. I think the actress is good and she's funny and snarky, but I can't take her seriously when she admonishes Sonny/Jason's lifestyles (rightfully!), but has no problem cashing their checks and dating their employee. It was funny at first, but it got tiresome and I just wanted her to get a new job or leave. She wouldn't be the first on my list to kill either though. Nowhere near the top.

It's a really interesting idea that wouldn't need any extra production value-just layers and layers of drama. You should write for the show. I don't know why the show is forcing something. Both characters could mix it up with others. These type of set pairings always seem to fail.

Whatever makes her comfortable I guess, but she would look just fine in more form fitting clothes or even more forgiving things like wrap dresses or blazers. It unfortunately doesn't fit the character or the fashionista persona Maxie has. I don't care about her weight, but when I see her in a bulky, casual sweater and jeans at work-it's just not what Maxie would wear. It's too bad KS seems uncomfortable with her weight, she looks healthier and doesn't scare me like she used to when she looked so thin and ill.

I would love this lol. Days has always been a show where there is either 3 or 4 people in romantic triangles/stories. A full mix of the cast getting messy would solve a lot of problems. The stories wouldn't stop and start because everyone in the cast would be involved in this situation lol.

I could see that. It would basically be totally re-do of Lani/Shawn though from however long ago. The EJ/Belle stuff was dropped so quickly. I have to wonder if it had to do with Ali's schedule. Actually I think DF's entire run as EJ has been screwed up by Ali's schedule lol. I really hope they circle back to that.

So I am watching this weeks shows and there is a lot to say, but I'll touch on my biggest takeaways. Brando was bland and I don't care about him, but he was not anywhere near the top of my list to get rid of. Chase has a nice voice and is lovely to look at. He is not a pop star. He can kill it at the Nurse's Ball and Karaoke, but he should work harder to get his badge back. I felt like Sonny was just wandering around town the entire week just randomly having scenes with people to have scenes. He had no purpose. Does Mo really have that many guarantees? It was nice to see Kristina, but haven't Sonny/Kristina/Alexis had this same conversation about law school for the last 10 years? I really am interested in this Liz story, but, IMO, this would be a great time for Lucky to come back and help her through it. Literally, Finn is useless in this. I am actually slightly interested in Carly's trip to Florida which is surprising to me. Maxie continues to be the worst styled character in daytime. I know she's not a size 0 anymore and KS might be uncomfortable by why do they keep throwing ill-fitting oversized chunky sweaters on her?

It seems so silly to immediately box the NuStephanie in with Alex. She's good and could have scenes with other men on the show and test chemistry. Even though Jada is currently with Eric she seems to have interactions with a lot of different people and several other men that could be love interests down the road.

They certainly have an interesting dynamic. I think your analysis definitely sounds plausible and they do not seem to trust one another. It seems so many things happen(ed) off screen and Kathy/Kyle/Kim all seem to want to keep everything very secretive. Kyle especially presents this perfect family facade, and it ends up seeming so fake and false. I get the feeling all the sisters are so worried dark secrets will come out, but also need the validation of being famous. Something about the way they all interact makes me uncomfortable and it's not a normal family/sister relationship. It's sad they seem to want to tear one another down. Even Kathy seems to hold a ridiculous amount of anger over a tv show that aired for 1 season on freeforum or something lol.

Yeah everyone seemed pretty casual about it and no one really seemed to have a huge problem. Only Erika was pushing the Kathy agenda, but I chalk that up to getting all the details from Lisa via text and a way to take the heat off herself. At this point I can only go on what's airing and the picture I am getting is Lisa is so happy to have some very vague ammunition to make herself and Kyle look good and Kathy look insane and evil. Perhaps Kathy put a stop to everything by threatening to sue or there will be more clarity down the line or at the reunion. At this juncture it's basically a just something that happened off screen that was horrible and secret and awful. Lisa or someone needs to say what actually happened or what was actually said. I am curious as to what Lisa was doing during this meltdown in the van and at the condo. Steadfastly defending her good friends or egging Kathy on to make more comments? The whole Richards/Hilton clan is so mysterious to me. There is so much ill will over seemingly petty things.

Nicole is a character that has some of the worst styling on the show consistently. AZ has never found a flattering hairstyle. I think it would look nice a little longer. Some of the dresses she wears are so ugly and unflattering as well.

I have been very vocal about how this whole story has been awful and misogynistic, but I could see Nancy coming out stronger from this. If I was writing this I would make Nancy reevaluate her life and realize she felt she needed a new man after Craig's betrayal. Then I would have Nancy focus on herself and her kids, maybe start a new career, show her interacting with friends like Bonnie, maybe Marlena, whoever and just establish a new life for herself. Then down the line she gets a new guy. Honestly, I never really needed to see more of Nancy/Craig and was content with them off screen, but since the show did this story it would be nice if both Craig and Nancy had some sort of redemptive arc and don't just disappear with this story being the last we see of those two.

I couldn't access this thread either like you yesterday. Kyle was finishing filming on her Halloween movie in Georgia? or somewhere out of town so she missed Crystal's Party. Was it really a party? There didn't seem to be any other guests but the housewives which made Lisa sitting in a corner seem really awkward. I think we all know there is a lot more to Kathy than the persona she presents on the Housewives. You saw a little more of that controlling, demanding, and not so likable Kathy on the Paris Wedding Show. Like you said the way Lisa is presenting it is so suspicious and weird. Did Kathy have a breakdown? Yes. Were things said that were uncalled for and mean? I absolutely believe that. Are there huge issues between those sisters in that family? I think that's very clear. I believe Lisa heard an earful of potentially damaging, mean, and harmful things and took that and ran with it. Now Lisa thinks she has the power and can be vague seemingly making her silence seem like she's protecting Kyle/Kathy. It's too obvious and calculated for me to take seriously. I thought I might be on Lisa's side on this, but with no footage and just her word I have a hard time knowing what is real. Although the other wives weren't there, no one seemed that upset about Kathy's meltdown even when recounting it except Diana and she's an idiot. Pretty much everyone but Lisa was fine with conversing with Kathy at Crystal's party and seemed over it. Idk, to me this seems like Lisa (and Kyle's) power play to get Kathy off the show because she's become popular. I definitely don't think Lisa is making up Kathy's ugly behavior, but Lisa is that person to hear one bad thing, twist it, and use it to serve her purpose. I mean, c'mon, Lisa going on and on about how much more successful Kyle was than Kathy. Kyle is very successful and has a great life, but.........Kathy is a freaking Hilton lol. She never needed RHOBH to make her famous, rich, or relevant.

I think you could explain Jen being high on her pills and hallucinating. Yes, it's super awful for the character and her fans, but does anyone really think Abby is dead dead?

Clyde is not exactly a surprising choice or a very good one. I am not sure there was a way for this mystery to end where I would be happy. Craig was a stupid choice, but it would have affected people. Clyde is inconsequential. Ben's not even around. So Nancy will be sad? Roman needs to hire a cook? Again, I don't really have a solution on how I would have wanted this to end. Jen seems to be the most interesting suspect bandied about on this board, but I think that would've been a very unpopular choice for Days fandom in general.

1996 was an excellent year for GH and 1997 was not lol. I blame that more on Guza leaving, but PC probably didn't help with Riche's attention divided. Anyhow, I think GH had some good years post 1996. 1998-2000 was pretty good and 2002 was really solid through the entirety of Brenda's return. The show was on fire that year. Personally, I would say the show started truly declining about a decade after 1996 in 2006-2007. Anyhow YMMV, but I don't think taking Lucy/Kevin/Scott away from the mother show hurt too much. Scott wasn't even on GH at the time and Lucy/Kevin were always B characters although they were capable of leading. GH still had a wealth of interesting, amazing characters available with Sonny/Brenda/Jax, Luke/Laura/Cassadines, Robin/Jason, Carly/Tony/Bobbie, etc. They all just got some bad material in 1997 except Carly/Tony/AJ/Bobbie. They saved 1997.

You just listed so many great things I didn't even touch on and there is so much more! Not to mention why didn't anyone get a written letter or skype testimony from Theresa? Wouldn't Theresa's word and their amicable, working custody agreement hold more weight than Chloe or John testifying? You know, if Kristen at least had a savvy, conniving lawyer (even EJ) perhaps I could buy some of this, but the idiot was representing herself. I feel like I usually eyeroll Days. I can take the Devil and some other nonsense because it's all silly to begin with. This custody hearing was taken dead seriously so it's much more frustrating.

With Kristen saying anything and ripping on John, Belle could have really gone down a whole rabbit hole and said remember when you were engaged to my dad and wanted nothing more to have his baby? And also kidnapped my mother and almost killed me as a child with a poisoned chocolate? Kristen never was convicted of any of those things, so free game. What about the whole Tate situation where Kristen stole eggs or whatever she did to have that child? Even Kristen could have focused in on Brady's addiction issues instead of focusing on the issue of Phillip. I literally can't even think about this waste of time because it's so frustrating and I think of everything that's wrong with a hearing even being allowed. I don't really care whether Marlena is a Dr or not. I was just vaguely interested in seeing actual repercussions from the Devil Possession Part 2 and hoping it all wouldn't be forgotten in 5 mins. But then again I really wanted it to end in the first place so I can't complain.
