I want to defend him and think Mo's problems are due to the pace or ad-libs, but he's been doing this since 2002 at least. I do tend to think there is just a huge element of laziness there, but I also don't think anyone has dared to correct him or change dialogue to suit the faster pace either.

I love Wendy as well. I have since Beyond Salem 2. Thanks! All better. It was my fault. That's what I get for trying to clear up misinformation. I know better.

Amped-Up Comebacks
I loved Jason/Brenda from the beginning, but I always liked Jason/Brenda even in the 90's when they were horrible to one another. I always felt there was a little something there between them even when they 'hated' each other. Yeah, it was strange writing to have Carly constantly one upping Brenda. Brenda had never paid her much mind previously and would have no problem at least verbally owning Carly, but Brenda always backed down. I understand why the show felt the need to keep Carly as the #1 girl, but it didn't really fit how Brenda/Carly would interact. The whole Carly/Brenda rivalry could have been so much more entertaining if they let Brenda have a backbone. I think the idea was for Brenda to be calmer and zen as she grew up, but it read dull and sad instead. Sidenote- I always laugh when Carly calls Brenda as shallow as a mud puddle. That phrase just cracks me up for some reason. I get your feelings on Liz/Jason being ruined by Courtney/Jason, but I always assumed the intention was to go there with Jason/Brenda and Courtney being dumped, so I was better off with Courtney getting hurt over Liz. And I did like early Liz/Ric lol.

Yes, I see where you're coming from and don't disagree. But to me I considered more a return to form and the previous iteration was just an anomaly lol. .

Amped-Up Comebacks
I could agree to this. While the whole thing was overall juvenile (throwing bread rolls, fake Michael affair) at least Vanessa herself showed a lot more spark than she did a year or so prior.

A facebook group is not NBC's official messageboard. It's a facebook group. Anyway this is a pointless conversation. Moving on..... RC clearly identifies with Leo much more than Will/Sonny.

Amped-Up Comebacks
I have to be honest, Courtney did not bother me in real time while Brenda's return was airing, but in rewatch I think she takes up so much time. It reminds of the plane flight Jason/Brenda take to the DR to get a quickie divorce and Brenda's freaking out about flying and asks Jason about Courtney and Jason says she's funny. And Brenda says hilariously, "She doesn't look like she's funny" Truer words were never spoken, B.......

Amped-Up Comebacks
So good. It doesn't hit a wrong note in rewatch (except everything Courtney) until the very end.

Amped-Up Comebacks
I was going to say Vanessa's first return as well, but I wasn't sure if it counted. I am not sure Vanessa amped up anything as far as her acting, but definitely her style, presence, and overall writing helped as well. But I would definitely say she lived up to her own hype in that run.

Thank you! This isn't a brand new insight on Sonny that others haven't said before, but one thing MB had was that Sonny's interactions with people were different. The way he acted with Brenda was different than Karen, Lily, early Carly. The way he interacted with Stone was different than Jason. His friendships with Luke, Robin, Lois, Lucy were all unique. I know he checked out years ago, but it's even more difficult to watch when you know he's capable. Anyway, Sonny rant over. Esme and Nik don't tend to interest me, so I guess I only had Sonny to talk about.

That's a really insightful take on Sonny and it's true. Sometimes you see a mellow, wise Sonny tell us about life lessons and other times you get rage Sonny. My problem with that Sonny/Michael scene is that MB hits the same exact notes in all his emotional scenes and has for years. Today, even though the words and scene were entirely different, he hit that exact same acting he did when he broke up with Brenda 10 years ago (obviously that was better due to Vanessa). The same cracking of the voice, the same whispers and stutters, the same tragic shortcomings he was dealt in life, the same watery eye- everything. MB has no range anymore. I am probably not explaining this correctly, but I was watching and wondering why it felt so familiar to me and I figured out I basically have seen the scene numerous times before with numerous different characters.

I just finished watching Tue's episode of GH and I feel like the speech Sonny gave to Michael I have heard a million times. To different people in different circumstances, but his emotions and excuses are always the same. I know this isn't a *new* development, but if I have to hear about his father/stepfather/childhood one more time....You reconciled with your dad approximately 25 years ago and Deke hit you at least 40 years ago. Get over it!!!! Sonny has been making poor decisions regarding people he's loved since 1993. I usually eyeroll Sonny's pity parties, but today I wanted to throw something at my screen.

GH: Classic Thread
No, I believe that was after the stripping reveal because Brenda seemed absolutely clueless as to why Karen would be stripping. And, as you said, Brenda picked up on her abuse fairly quickly and would probably at least put two and two together. I could be wrong because I think it all happened very close together and it wasn't drawn out very long. I actually loved Ruby/Brenda too. It's not a relationship that gets talked about often (as I think her relationship with Lila/Edward is more memorable). I like when Ruby would treat Brenda like a daughter/granddaughter and tell her how stupid some of her schemes were, but in loving way.

I don't think Marlena will be judgmental about it. She's pretty open about those things. Hell, a throuple with Roman/John would have solved a lot of her problems back in the day 🤣

Yeah, for Chanel/Allie it was a solid decision and Alex was exactly what they were looking for. For fallout I would have preferred someone messier like Tripp. That could have opened up even more story for Allie/Chanel. Unless one of them falls for Alex (which.....eww_) the threesome isn't living up to its full story potential. But that's Days for you.

Gotcha. That makes sense and probably what will happen. I could see Stephanie being a little skeeved out by it, but I don't think I would consider it a dealbreaker if I really liked a person. Realistically, though, Alex was a good choice for them. Tripp would be way too messy (but I would have loved it) and Johnny is obviously not an option.

I am sure you are right, but I could see Alex skating more on this. I don't see too many younger characters (except Johnny/Tripp) being that outraged by it. It would make them seem conservative and judgey.
