At the end of the day, I assume Deidre was trying to appease her fanbase, which skews much older I would think. Listen, Alex was being a weird creeper with her and if she just threw in a line saying she just said that to Alex because she was trying to let him down gently/not make work uncomfortable I would be fine with it. For some reason, I don't think the threesome will affect Alex that much. Allie/Chanel, yes, but not him. Also #JusticeforTripp! I hope he gets a threesome soon.

Nope. I would say it was completely forgotten, but Ava recently mentioned it in a scene with EJ a few weeks ago. I have never heard John speak of it.

Inorganic is the perfect way to put it. I didn't mind it, but the stakes weren't very high. I don't care about Alex. Tripp put in a lot of work with those two. It would just make so much more sense and have more impact overall. Days has always been like this under Ron. I like a lot of the ideas, but they never end up being executed right. I like Stephanie and Chad a lot, but isn't Stephanie being a huge hypocrite because she's working with Chad? I mean, I assume Stephanie is just truly not into Alex and just said that stuff about working together, but I wish Stephanie would have clarified that better.

Wow! I can't believe they went through with the threesome. Agreed Alex was not the best choice. It would have been much more soapy for it to be someone like Tripp. @AbcNbc247basically hit all the points and opinions I had today, but I will say I really liked Stephanie's dress. Stephanie dresses really well and it's a nice change of pace on a show riddled with fashion disasters.

Lol! I think that was always the joke. He always said how religious he was.....but whatever. Sometimes that's not truly indicative of morals. Yeah, I heard him say they bonded over boxing. It seems like RC's a pretty sarcastic, wry guy and maybe Ali/Austin didn't like or get his humor. I just remember hearing gossip that AP in particular was pretty intense with others about his religion-no idea if it's true.

I am not super shocked about Austin Peck/Roark. I remember there were a lot of articles and rumors AP was VERY pushy about his religion. Not sure if that was Roark's issue, but Days in the late 90's had a bunch of soap spreads about how religious the cast was.

I do wonder if Kathy/Kyle will make up after the reunion airs. I think Kathy was expecting a lot more blowback on her actions and she really doesn't look that bad and I wonder if her current frustration with Kyle was just having to do with Kyle being unable to control her friends/castmates. Obviously, this is the tip of the iceberg with that family, but I think the optics for them would just be better to make up and join forces with Garcelle and Sutton, and Dorit (if she stays). I guess we will just have to see how the reunion plays out.

Nope. The suspense was killing me, but I'll live. Agreed about the younger set and they do use them-it's just on boring crap. The show could have easily shown Allie/Johnny/Will with Marlena/Kayla/Kate, but chose not to and had them do whatever it was they were doing.

Really? I haven't checked the spoiler thread. But, yeah, we agree on everything else. I am sure it will be better when Tripp, Li's sister, and Johnny are brought back into the story.

Okay, now we are just splitting hairs over 2 weeks vs. 2 months-neither of which is a long time in real life or a soap. Chanel/Allie really have never had any period of stability or enjoyment for their fans. There has been immediate conflict from Johnny, Alex, threesomes etc. There has been 0 payoff for Chanel/Allie fans and now we are moving into ridiculous territory with this 'story' if you can even call it that because we know they won't have a threesome.

We were told Allie/Will were close, but we obviously haven't seen much of it since Allie grew up offscreen. Idk, I don't think it's that odd for Will to be her scene partner in this, but I can see how some people would. It's not like Allie really has any friends to talk to. I can't really think of anyone else she could ask that would be less weird than Will. I think you would also have to consider how often we have seen Allie/Chanel since July 29th. To me, it does feel like they just got together as well. We haven't seen much of a honeymoon phase and now we are moving into the relationship trouble stage.

I have already said I thought the whole Chanel/Allie threesome idea was cringe and stupid, but I don't think it's that weird to ask your sibling about it. I wouldn't think it was weird if my sisters ask me about it. Although if my brother asked me it might be weirder, but we are 10 years apart in age and not that close. Will/Allie seem very close.

@CatSome excellent points as always! I don't get the feeling Rinna cares about any of this either. I don't think she cares about anything but herself and her family. When Kathy was screaming about everyone she didn't care about Kyle or her castmates. She absolutely was thinking about what she was going to do with this info. I have never thought about Rinna actually wanting to get out. I have always figured she wanted to be the true Queen Bee on the show, but it's an interesting take. But honestly, I would get rid of Erika before Rinna still and I have my doubts we will see Kathy next year.

I love this btw! Thanks for bringing it to the thread! I don't think anyone ever spoke about the real reason, but there are many plausible ones off the top of my head. 1. Money to pay her. 2. DH was still salty over being fired and said no. 3. Higley seemed to actively hate Marlena and John/Marlena. After they were fired, Higley made a very focused effort to move Maggie into a Marlena like position and tried to move as far away as possible from even mentioning Marlena. To me it seemed quite obvious Higley wanted to move Days in a new direction and bringing Marlena back would only remind people she was gone and start that fan uproar again. This is just my speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if Deidre just wasn't asked. Alice/Marlena were close, but not close enough for it to be a huge, glaring absence.

I would assume Kathy had quite a few drinks because that is the worst person on the cast to do that in front of. I think Rinna really does consider this a character she plays and it's just spiraled out of control to the point she has to keep continuing what's she doing. I wonder if Andy would even let her break that wall and take accountability at this point. Diana was a complete flop. They need a villian. Obviously they are all playing their own game and obviously Kyle, Kathy, Dorit, LVP, Yolanda, etc, etc are not innocent in any of this, but once Lisa turned on Denise I think it was just game on with Rinna. At least Yolanda got her daughters famous lol! I mean, I guess one Hamlin did date Scott Disick lol.

I totally agree Lisa Rinna always does have some truth on her side! But.....I do think she completely overexaggerates and can't articulate anything correctly without looking like a troublemaking b*tch. There's no proof of what happened exactly and Rinna has a long history of being an unreliable narrator. If she had any sense, she would have aligned herself with Kathy after this and ensured her place on the show. This is some weird fame grab. Rinna closely aligns herself with ERIKA, but draws the line at Kathy saying mean things? You lose credibility right there. Why would anyone believe her when her morality scale is so out of whack? I actually like Lisa Rinna for the most part and think she just plays the a**hole on TV and isn't a horrible person, but she does seem like a very dumb person who has a very distorted view of her importance on the show and in life.

Writing is partly to blame, but I think RSW makes certain acting choices to make Alex seem different to Ben that are weird. This exactly.

I mean, the character is different from Ben, but in a worse way. And when the original character was a serial killer that's hard to do. Alex is such a strange caricature of a person. No one today would dress like that or act like that. You have to assume once they "differentiate" Alex from Ben, RSW will end up playing Ben 2.0 without the serial killer tendencies.

Hannah O'Connor is a good analogy for the character. For some reason Esme reminds me of Nelle a lot. The motivations aren't the same, but the type of character they are is super similar to me.

Yup! I know they need to use certain actors more than others but there are multiple relevant things Chanel/Allie could be talking about like the fact both Allie's grandmas have an incurable, terminal illness! Talking about a threesome is incredibly petty when Allie hasn't shown any concern over that. In fact, I can't think of the last time Allie thought about anything other than herself or Chanel. As far as Alex and Stephanie, I couldn't care less. I don't care if Stephanie and Alex never share a scene again. I don't need to hear about it 3 times a week.

Today's show was so boring! We have had 2 episodes of Chanel/Allie talking about a threesome that will never happen and endless episodes of Alex talking about Stephanie, but only one episode a WEEK of the Orpheus illness stuff which I thought was the A story on the show. I actually do think Chad/Stephanie have chemistry, but the kiss came out of nowhere. Even though I really don't mind RSW, I am with @Soapsuds-Alex is useless. I don't like him with anyone.

They took all the fun and edge out of Allie. She's just so whiny and uptight now even when she's suggesting threesomes. Perhaps this is what Deidre was talking about when she said the show won't get more sexy? Allie made a threesome sound like a total chore.🤣 Today's episode was lame. That's all. I would have to say Mark Valley was the hottest, but Steve Wilder was pretty cute on Days and Melrose. Also agree with people that said MV could play most any other role but Jack and be amazing. I don't really blame him though because Jack actually became a brand new character when he was cast lol.

Exactly. It was just an unnecessary extra step to add to this story. If Kristen just approached John we could have avoided the Kristen/Marlena scenes and the Rolf/John/Rex scenes. Since this story is shown like once a week why not cut this nonsense out? Kristen is going to end up bargaining with John anyhow (at least I think). I like Marlena/Kristen scenes, but it's just not the same without Eileen. I don't need to see Marlena hacking up a lung talking to a poorly styled Kristen about some idiotic scheme to get Rachel back. Also, I am 99% sure it was established in 1997 that the orchid they found in the jungle was THE. LAST. ORCHID. ever in history. I don't know why John is shocked by this news. Fair.
