It was a weird time for J&M. Everything seemed really out of character and even when parts of it were in character it was the worst aspects of the characters. After all the years and all the obstacles it was such a strange way to pull them apart. And they were apart for a long time with things like John filing for divorce happening off screen. I am not sure if Tomsell wanted to reunite Roman/Marlena. I think it was just to give Marlena the least amount to do lol.

I feel like that implies he was useful at one time. It would honestly take me too long to list the GH/Days cast members. But I would cast my vote for Kristen on Days and Maxie on GH.

I think it's just bad extensions probably the clip on type. Her hair seems to grow and become shorter episode to episode. Have Chad and Johnny ever been close historically? Enough for him to ask Chad to be his best man? And poor Chanel has no close friends. Who's going to stand up for her? The Xander and Stefan scenes were a bit strange and unexpected. Overall it was pointless, but they don't ever really interact. The toast to Roman was a bit weird, but the show rarely acknowledges he was a cop so I guess it's okay. Overall, just a filler episode. We only got one update from Chad on Stephanie's love life today. 😂

Lol. True. Is this even a story though? Two adults that are single spent the night together. There are drug busts, murders, OD's, multiple baby kidnappings, etc. everyday in Salem. Why would the readers care who Stephanie is spending her nights with? I don't care and I watch this show on purpose every day.😂 Something about Leo being OBSESSED with Everett and Stephanie creeped me out more than usual. Leo needs to go out a find the real gossip and not bother grown people about their boring relationship.

Lol. Wendy isn't her given name, but, yeah, it's a little dated. First, I don't know why every man is obsessed with Stephanie. She seems nice and fine although not someone that would have multiple men after her. Second, why would anyone care where she sleeps or with whom? She's about 30, Leo is 40 plus and I don't think I cared about who was sleeping with who in my town since I was 20. Third, Leo isn't being catty and gossip-y and fun-he's been downright creepy. Chanel was the only person today not entirely enthralled with Stephanie's love life.

Dating Diane will do that to you. We never even heard from Max again after he stopped dating Diane (not that I complaining about no Max/Milo). I am embarrassed Robert Effing Scorpio is dating a glorified day player. What does Robert see in her? That obnoxious quick wit? The superior attitude? The Talbots Blazers? Ugh...

Diane is the least self aware person on the planet. She rivals Sonny in this. I don't know how Diane's character has lasted about 15 years when she's so one note.

I actually thought he worked well with Hayden. I know Portia and Curtis aren't setting the world on fire with chemistry, but at least DT could act like he was interested in the story.

Why is Donell Turner like that? Curtis is getting good a lot of material and looks completely checked out in every scene. Laura/Curtis isn't going to happen! Try to give Brook Kerr something to work with here. I don't think DT, has the limitations of, say, the actress that plays Jordan so I am not sure why every time Curtis appears I feel like he's annoyed to even be on set.

Chanel's engagement ring looks so cheap. Walmart has classier rings for sale. It's so big and gaudy lol. I agree with Stephanie her love life is not that exciting and she is a grown woman that can do what she wants. Why would anyone care? Does Steve really wear his eye patch do bed? Lol The Wendy and Ava scenes were strange and unnecessary. I thought Ava and Wendy got along fine.

I think Ava has absolutely run her course as a character. Maura is good enough to pivot in a different direction, but I can't deal with her having Esme! as a main foe. Maybe Ava could be rested and come back with more of an edge and focus.

How long is Lucas's prison sentence? I feel like he's been in jail for years and years now lol. Even Lani is allegedly getting out and she killed a man. All Lucas did was kidnap Sami. That's barely even a crime. Why would anyone want Sami lol? BD needs to cut his hair though stat! The John/Steve stuff is a bit weird. Has Steve been hiding the truth from John for 40 years now? That seems odd. I guess we will see where this goes. I though Theresa and Alex were kind of charming today. The world feels off axis, but their scenes were cute? Stephanie and Everett are a snooze. If they had any chemistry it would be one thing, but they really don't. AK was much better with BF, RSW and even Steve Burton.

@Liberty City KS doesn't look healthy apart from her weight. She looks tired and worn out. I would not kill Maxie off. I would just have her leave town for awhile. Mostly because it would be stupid to kill off both FnF's children and I wouldn't want KW to have to play that either. I can take or leave Felicia. I appreciate her more now than I did in the 90's. I never was a huge fan. I would absolutely keep her on the show though. Maxie's traumas bring her down. Felicia would be just fine without her.

From what I can gather it seems to be KS's choice on her wardrobe. Whether she's uncomfortable or insecure about more flattering items I am not sure, but the styling issue does seem to be her own. I tend to think there is a larger medical issue here. Whether it's medications or something else causing her to gain weight, I think she is a bit protected by FV because of the fear of a lawsuit. And to be clear, the weight gain isn't my issue with KS.

To be fair, Carly has been like this 20 years longer than Diana was around and was killed off. We will never rid ourselves so easily of Carly lol.

Was the ending really just Ava and Stefan drinking champagne?😂 Unless they show them in bed tomorrow or something that was really lame.

@Donna L. BridgesI wasn't saying Marlena didn't regret it. I was more thinking how the audience would perceive it. It became much more sympathetic than a casual affair. It also showcased more passion and romance than Roman/Marlena had at that moment, as they were shown as pretty strained at the time. I am not saying they weren't wrong or didn't destroy lives, but they both were given a pretty strong point of view on it being true love.

I don't know. I heard long ago somewhere that the plan was always for John/Marlena to have an affair (I don't have a source for this). It would have included Isabella. When Staci decided to leave, which I think was a bit of a surprise, the show moved full speed ahead with John/Isabella instead and put all the affair stuff on the backburner. Even with that plan the show could have shown Roman/Marlena struggling a bit more and John/Marlena having lingering feelings. I tend to think it became an idea after Staci decided to leave when Drake would be without a love interest. I would suspect JER was responsible for the shift in Roman's writing. I don't think Roman was painted as the bad guy exactly, John and Marlena's actions just became almost justified or unavoidable. To be honest, I wouldn't say Wayne's return was a complete flop, but none of his stories post-return were very good. I think John still had a bigger fanbase and it was easier to drop Roman in the end.

Ha! Ha! I think I just left my browser open. I haven't even gotten through all these replies. We really aren't actually supposed to think Sonny is book smart, are we? I thought he was just street smart, which I honestly question if I would go that far.

The first seed for me was when Isabella was dying and she asked Marlena to take care of John when she's gone. There are hints John/Marlena have at strong bond before the Pit because John has some harsh words to say about Roman going undercover and Marlena helps him with his grief with Isabella. They also work together against Roman to help Carrie with some of TM's Carrie's idiotic decisions. I wouldn't say it was extremely overt or obvious but perhaps showing how compatible they still were. After all Isabella had just died lol So basically the timeline is pretty quick- Dec 1991 Roman/Marlena reunite Jan-May 1992 Isabella/John get married, Brady is born, she dies. Roman is doing his undercover work. May 1992-Oct 1992 Marlena is involved with John and Brady, but her story mostly revolves around Roger and Stella's growing jealousy of her. Roman and Marlena start having issues because Roman wants her to step back from Roger and her work and reconnect with him. They have a huge blowout before the Pit and Roman just accepts Marlena is on this business trip for weeks, but John is suspect. The more slanted writing for Roman begins. Nov 1992-Pit. And John of course is the one to find her and they both profess their love for one another because they think they are dying. Dec. 1992 John and Marlena both declare their current love for one another Feb. 1993-Affair begins I am pretty sure the affair was Sheri Anderson and JER. It sounds like it was quick because in actuality it was, but it was a sudden shift from John being all about Isabella to absolutely in love with Marlena. Roman/Marlena show cracks earlier, but more because of Roman-not because Marlena had feelings for John.

EOB is by no means perfect or even anywhere near there, but I think Theresa is finally getting decent material and it works for the type of acting EOB does well at. The accent is still rough, the wig is cartoonish, but she seems more sympathetic than she originally did and a bit more at ease with the material.

That goofy karate stuff Drake does never fails to crack me up. Obviously it looks even more ridiculous than it did 30 years ago because he's 70 now lol. I love Marlena is slightly concerned, but is like this has happened so many times before it's almost normal 😂 I think EOB is slowly finding her groove as Theresa. It's not the same as JL, but I think she's doing better. I just hope part of her new sobriety journey is to get a new look and darken her hair. I still find the wig so distracting lol. I am surprised Alex is so confident in sticking by Theresa. I feel like they barely know one another and this romance progressed so quickly.

Marlena didn't really have her own story in the beginning of 1992. She could have been doing tv movies or side projects, but she was a bit on the backburner. She was mad at Roman for going undercover and that Mrs. Doubtfire rip off, she supported and helped in the Danielle Romulus story, was supporting in Isabella's illness, Carrie's return etc. The Lombard story does start pretty early on in 1992 when they sue the hospital and she's involved in that from the beginning, but not in a huge capacity. Marlena is definitely around and appears, she is just more supporting in the stories the show was focusing on at the time. By summer Marlena's story with Roger is heating up and she's in the Pit by Nov 92, maybe October?
