Seriously, though I personally don't think I would care about Brenda anymore if she was recast. It's Vanessa or nothing. The character was barely hanging on by a thread the last return and without VM I think it would go entirely off the rails. I would still watch because I watch now lol, but I would not be happy about it. I'd rather no Brenda than a recast. I don't think Brenda is unrecastable or anything, but it would be over for me and I suspect the 10-20 Brenda fans still left out there.😂 Can they pay LV to stay off my screen to get JJ back?

I was more worried re-cast Brenda would be back played by a blonde😂 I don't see it happening. At least not now. The character doesn't seem to be a priority, but neither has Jagger since 1992 so 🤷‍♀️ Vanessa actually writing a book that gets published to the masses would be like Christmas and my Birthday at once. If it happens I am first in line.

I personally don't see a need for NuJagger at all. It would be a fun idea if Karen was alive or if Brenda or Robin were around. But who does Jagger know in town? Sonny? Lois and Ned? A few vets like Scotty, Felicia, Lucy, and Anna in a pretty basic sense? It's just of all the characters you could bring back Jagger isn't on that list. And a weird recast Jagger at that. Unless he is secretly married to Brenda and brings Vanessa back to the canvas. I don't think that's likely though 😂. Maybe it's to usher in his son to join the teen cast.

Yes! Anchor couple is totally the phrase I was looking for. Thank you. I still think Mickey/Maggie were the closet bet on molding that type of couple, but there is way too much history and mistakes on J&M's part for them to be revered like an ideal couple. I think they are a #lovegoals type of couple, but they are just too modern to fit into the Tom & Alice role like you stated. I even think Doug/Julie were too.

I suppose you could consider this a burn to ASJ or something. But, IMO, it's a bigger burn to Brenda and Karen. They would never fight over this guy 😂

To be fair, ASJ is Italian and Jagger is not supposed to be Hispanic I don't believe. Nikki Cox and Michael Sutton weren't and they were his siblings. This recast is ridiculous though. The only redeeming quality Jagger had was being hot.

Right? HP made a huge, tragic mistake. She's lucky she didn't kill herself or others. But...she's 24. I wouldn't write her off as a person for all time because of this. We have no indication she was problematic to work with. No one is excusing her actions, but daytime is full of people that have had similar issues. If she takes care of her legal, physical, mental/addiction issues, etc I don't have a problem with her being re-hired. She's not the first person to get in a DUI accident and hopefully she learns her lesson. I personally couldn't care less about Molly, but I wouldn't be shocked if HP was hired back in a few years.

I did like that Elizabeth affair confrontation. I really don't mind NL as much as most people here. I never particularly cared for her Emily, but she also didn't bother me either. It's still a shame they killed Emily off. I still think her Taylor was a better fit than Tamara's. Honestly, I think even Deidre has made comments saying she thought John and Marlena were the next Tom and Alice, so it's not a crazy notion. I just don't see it. I don't think Days ever tried to mold another couple like Tom/Alice, so to me there really isn't an heir apparent to them. It's not a slight to J&M. They just stand on their own as a couple. I would assume Julie will now take over that "Gran" role after Doug's passing and Doug and Julie will now be revered in a similar fashion to Tom/Alice. I still think Maggie would have fit better in that role, but that time has come and gone.

J&M don't really remind me of Tom and Alice. I think Doug & Julie or even Mickey/Maggie were a bit closer to Tom and Alice. John/Marlena still have their own stories and ups and downs and aren't as wholesome. While I am sure people in town admire their love and ask their advice, Marlena isn't exactly making donuts in her (non-existent) kitchen either. I am sure people will disagree and I have heard the T&A and J&M comparisons, but I think John/Marlena are just different in vibe entirely as a couple. Lol! Rebecca. Was NL playing someone bad-ass with that? Or was she just wearing more eyeliner and chewing gum? That being said I didn't mind her as Taylor. She didn't even get half a chance.

I tend to agree. She's young. If HP makes the right moves and gets help and finishes out her legal and financial obligations I don't see why she'd be unemployable in the future. It's not like nuMolly is setting the world on fire or anything.

John and Marlena aren't bad people, but they made a lot of wrong choices under the guise of keeping Marlena's family together with mostly good intentions. I don't think anyone is the villian here, but if I had to choose anyone it would be Marlena. She made most of the mistakes here and was the one to seek out John when he was going to leave town to avoid the situation. She knew John could be Belle's father and lied. She knew Sami saw her and John and said nothing. She never came clean to Roman and when she was put under pressure by Stefano she announced it in public! You know I adore Marlena and adore Marlena/John, but it was very interesting and satisfying to finally see Marlena have a chink in her perfect armor. It's probably my favorite story on Days ever and the most complex material Deidre/Drake ever got as a couple.

To be clear, I don't love the use of the word and I don't even think it's a very Roman thing to say, but it was a very heated conversation. I think it's more of a soap cliche to call a woman a slut especially in the 90's on soaps, so I take it more of the sign of the times than anything. It heightened the drama. I also do see Roman as a character that would jump to anger before the hurt and sadness sunk in. I will say some of the affair fallout scenes between Marlena and Roman make me wince and cringe because they are brutal, but putting myself in Roman's shoes that was really awful for him. I believe John and Marlena suffered for years because of this and more than made up for their sins. I still feel for Roman too. It was 3 generally good people caught in a really bad situation. Once Wayne leaves and Roman just ups and skips town I have less sympathy.

John may have never called Marlena a "slut", but, let's be real, he has said and done a lot of hurtful things to her as well. Roman may have said mean things out of anger, but it was a perfectly normal response. Plus, while Marlena may have been hurt by those words it didn't stop her from wanting to reunite with Roman, so she obviously didn't hold it against him too much.

The story was good and I thought both the actors were good finds. It feels very unfinished. I assume they will both be back? Today's episode was decent. I felt like there were a lot of characters in this particular episode. Nothing really happened, but I didn't hate any scenes (except of course Leo's)

I don't love this scene and I think he's overly harsh. At the same time the reaction is perfectly normal. Roman's whole world fell apart and publicly. I think most people in this situation would say some pretty mean things. I don't think he truly ever thought Marlena was a slut and this is all in the heat of the moment after hearing the details of the affair. She slept with both men on the same night. It's not great lol. As far as kicking Marlena out? She's a grown woman who has a better career than Roman. She can afford a hotel or an apartment and if she for some reason couldn't John wouldn't let her be homeless! There isn't a real threat of Marlena having to live on the streets. Were they both supposed to just keep living together? Roman probably should have left instead, but he didn't do anything wrong. And for the record, he only kicks Marlena out. He keeps Belle with him. I have issues with Roman trying to keep Belle from her (before the paternity came out), how he weaponizes Sami's anger against Marlena, and a lot of other things Roman does later on. But in this moment? I think it's a fair reaction even if it is pretty ugly.

I always wonder how silly the actors feel talking and cooing to a blanket so often. This is Days though so they've been subjected to much sillier things😂
