  1. It comes across a little dated for me. I just think a lot of the world has opened their mind to LBGTQ lifestyles but a lot still hasn't. It doesn't feel groundbreaking or exciting, but it also doesn't feel out of the realm of possibility.
  2. I think JLB's Laura got relegated to a side character pretty quickly too. After 1995? 96? She was mostly Marlena's talk to about John and trying to meddle in her kids love life. She rarely did anything specifically about "her". Not to mention this poor woman had to play out a story where she was poisoned by toxic/hallucinogenic wall paint lol.
  3. I think JLB's Laura came off a little goofy and looney just because of JER. I never found her believable as a shrink and Marlena defies a lot of credibility as a shrink, but I still found it relatively believable. It is weird Bill just dipped in and out for the story. Even if Kate moved into Victor's atmosphere there was more to play with Laura/Bill. And Laura was entirely without a love interest (besides Jack!!!) her entire run.
  4. It's seriously not a bad story and if they had to insert Leo/Dmitri into this and they acted the way every other player in this story has been it might be close to good or passable. Instead they are calling each other "pookiebear",making jokes, and having insane overreactions. Their scenes don't fit the tone of the story at all. It's fascinating because Eric was almost shaming Sloan for doing her job and going to see a client. Does Eric even have a job? Lol. It could be interesting dynamics because you would assume Sloan is the entire breadwinner here.
  5. This is so well thought out and interesting. I would have love to see this type of story. I can't say I thought much of Tiffany/Sean leaving when they did. I guess the interest just wasn't there for Labine. I never thought much of Jessica and am not sure she was worth developing and investing in, but I love your ideas.
  6. I tend to agree with this. There have been obviously quite a few Brenda replacement attempts, but Hannah was probably the most blatant. It was even part of her story that she looked so much like Brenda and that was the reason she was chosen to infiltrate Sonny's organization. I don't argue that early Sam was a Brenda rip off down to the looks and pairings, but I don't think they are alike at all now and haven't been for years and years.
  7. I don't know why Leo/Dmitri are written so joke-y about this. I know it's probably Ron, but this material should be played as serious. And we all know both actors can do well with serious material. It's especially out of place with the way Ari and DF are playing it in the same episode. I actually get Sloan's frustration about Eric just waltzing to the hospital to get Jude's DNA tested. That's a crazy thing to do without informing your partner/mother of the child. I am really enjoying this story overall though. I always thought TB and BB had okay chemistry even back when it was Ava/Jake. I still think she has more with SB, but I still can't shake the feeling I am wasting my time with Harris. I guess I got my update on Gabi today lol So..Eric knows his uncle he was name after is a pedophile? That's interesting. I don't think anyone has ever really talked about that after the Kim story wrapped up. Although I have never met a Jude (outside of the character that terrorized Hope in the 90's), I don't hate it.
  8. I just found Tiffany to be veering on pathetic with the story. And she was so glamorous in my eyes as a kid. Obviously looking at it with adult eyes there are steps that lead Tiffany to these places. It still just feels out of character for her. And also taints the Tiffany/Sean lovestory quite a bit. You are articulating some of the ways I see Robert/Luke/Sonny shaking out better than I could. Do you know if some of the Stone story was rushed because of ASJ leaving and then MS letting GH know about his desire to leave? It does feel like Stone's arc moves fast from troubled kid to AIDS victim. Not the telling of the AIDS story, but the quick jump he made to hero from the time Jagger left to his diagnosis.
  9. Agreed on all of the above. They have no chemistry, it feels like this 'romance' has gone on forever, and nothing has even happened between them that's substantial. The show has no real investment in the romance but is hanging on to it because they can't figure out anything better to do. You know I've personally thought Diane outlived her usefulness by 2011 and has lasted way too long on this show.
  10. I do agree with that. There is little to no fault in the Stone/Robin story as it was told. Just interesting to think about how Anna/Robert would have fit in. Lol. That's very graphic...and specific. I would just transfer Diane to Alaska so I would never have to see her again or hear about her teenage relationship drama with Robert.
  11. Agreed. But if I ran GH I wouldn't pretend the non starter Diane/Robert romance was cute or charming either. I was thinking more in the vein of Robert helping Luke and defeating Frank Smith because he was the 'bad guy' not so much as Robert being outwitted or outplayed by Sonny/Jason. Plus, it would have been interesting to see both Robert/Anna as an active part in Stone and Robin's story.
  12. I found the Sean/Tiffany stuff quite depressing personally. Not a bad story, but very exhausting. Although I think the Lucas custody story could have played out longer and maybe more interestingly with BJ dying and the fallout from that. I guess even Labine wouldn't keep kicking Bobbie when she was down though-until her own daughter steals her husband lol. It felt like Sean was still around a bit with the Frank Smith/Sonny mob stuff, but Tiffany hardly ever appeared. By the time they left I remember thinking they had already departed lol. For some reason I could see Robert being involved with the Frank Smith/Puerto Rico action. I am not exactly sure how so I am not adding anything relevant. There was still quite a bit of action/adventure on that side of the canvas. I, mean, to me putting Robert in that orbit is less weird than him being the D.A. of Port Charles like his is today.
  13. Idk, that Jackie Cox stuff felt like pure filler. The entire conversation with Dmitri just happened. It didn't affect anything. It was a just a waste of time. But I guess that sounds like Ron too. Hard to tell.😂
  14. I've always spelled it Stefan. The character's wiki supports that.
  15. I don't mind Gabi and always liked CB, but I don't feel a need for a recast. Gabi hasn't done anything noteworthy in months. It's a shame that CB was treated badly-I just don't know where else Gabi has to go on the show. Her and Stefan stupidly plotting for Dimera was not interesting.
  16. Thanks! I am the worst when it comes to credits and an actor's status. Stefan seems like one of the more isolated characters on the cast, so it will be interesting to see what he does next. Well, probably not interesting lol, but I guess the show has plans for him.
  17. I think Robert/Anna would have fit quite well into the Stone/Robin stuff, but I am not sure if either of them would have wanted to be the supporting player in the story. I agree it's more difficult to place Robert in 1993 with Luke becoming more of a family man and what not. I do think he could have been tied into the Luke/Sonny/Mob crowd in some way.
  18. Oh, that makes sense. I actually didn't consider a recast. They put BB on recurring though so is the plan entirely scrapped?
  19. I think Holly/Johnny/Tate/Chanel would work better if it wasn't so lopsided. I know Johnny isn't going to dump Chanel for high school aged Holly. Chanel has no reason to be jealous or even threatened by Holly. Tate just wants Holly, so we are just watching a very predictable story play out. All the actors are likable in this, but I feel like I am just waiting for Holly to get over this crush and fall for Tate. I know soaps are built on stories like this-I just feel like this one is especially juvenile. On another note, is Gabi going to get a trial or go to court for killing Li? I know Camila is gone, but is there ever going to be a resolution to this story? Who actually killed Li? I am actually offended on Camila's behalf that her last episode was just Gabi being carted off to jail for an indeterminate amount of time. This story feels like it was dropped completely.
  20. I don't think insurance pays for IVF even on yourself. I may have bad insurance but I am pretty sure it's an elective procedure. Especially if it's on someone else. No clear idea though. Seeing the cost, I should have rented out my womb years ago lol.
  21. Hmmm...it seems cheaper to adopt. I know surrogacy is more relevant, but I have never met anyone who went through that process.
  22. So this is super morbid, but if Andrea lost the baby do they still have to pay that much?
  23. Yeah, my sister has been a lawyer for years and isn't rich. I can see that, but I think the optics of their careers make it more believable than how it actually looks on paper. Like, I personally bought it without too much thought. I am not saying you are wrong, but I was just thinking they lived pretty modestly and had some savings.
  24. I have almost flip flopped my stance on this. The girl probably gets so much hate from keyboard warriors as it is. It's.....not that big of a deal. Maxie could look more presentable, but it's just not the point anymore. He's a doctor and she's a lawyer. They seem to live a pretty sustainable life without luxury. I don't think it's that crazy. I assume they have savings and 401K's and stuff. And their surrogate lost the baby pretty early on. I don't think they paid her the entire cost.
  25. Oh definitely. It's just icky to put that out there and I started the discussion and I am over it now. It is what it is, but it's certainly not KS's big butt that makes matters worse lol.
