  1. Interesting. I didn't know that. I am not even that invested in Jax having an Australian accent. Ingo's practically disappeared throughout the years and SR's Jerry had some sort of accent, but it wasn't Australian I don't think lol. But, again, there really isn't a need for Jax these days. I mean, to be fair Jax spent years on the canvas doing very little. He's a good foe for Sonny and was good with Carly, but otherwise it was a lot of rehashing of stories year after year. Post-Brenda Jax was mostly an afterthought for Guza and barely did anything under RC/FV. I just have personally always liked Jax as a character, but I think Drew and Jagger sort of fill the Jax void currently.
  2. Loved the EJ/Marlena scenes today. Seriously, why didn't Connie just kill Everett instead? That solves multiple problems and instead she's just creating new ones. Leo is entirely awful, but I actually thought him calling Marlena to invite her over to watch Drag Race was a bit funny. Mostly DH's facial expressions during the convo lol. Gabi should join the police force. She seems entirely more capable of solving a crime than Jada OR Rafe lol. That long sleeve velvet dress in July makes me hot just thinking about though.
  3. I wouldn't kill Jax off. I just don't find him necessary. I would leave him in Australia for a possible endgame pairing with Carly or Brenda if it comes to that. If you can't get Vanessa back in the end I would be okay with her ending up with Jax off screen and I think you leave the option open for Carly as well. I don't really see Carson or Jarly as the happily ever after pairing for her either. As much as Ingo is Ingo and awful, I do think it would be a disservice for such a long running character to be killed off screen with no drama. I am sure most will disagree, but that's just my opinion on that.
  4. Charles Mesure would have been an okay Jax except he's not Australian. I just question the need for Jax at all. I have always been a big fan of Jax as a character, but he is one of those characters you don't really miss when they are gone. Sure he can hang out with Carly and his lame daughter and yell at Sonny, but like Jagger the show would just be tying a new actor to a familar name without purpose.
  5. Maybe, but I mostly blame Alex for that lol. I didn't think Chad/Stephanie were that bad? They weren't amazing, but they weren't a horrible couple either. A typical middle of the road Days pairing.
  6. I have never been clear why they broke up Chad/Stephanie. I didn't think they were a great couple or anything, but they broke up too quickly. There would be actual drama if Chad/Steph were still together and Abby was alive. There's no conflict at this point. Chad would be super happy if Abigail was alive and they would resume their married life. At least Stephanie would have been an obstacle. Instead, she's wasted on Bobby/Everett. Also, I saw Abigail Klein on an old episode of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders show and it appears she's a natural blonde. I get that the show wanted to make AK close in looks to Shelley Hennig, but it literally makes sense for Steve/Kayla's daughter to be blonde. She looks like an entirely different person blonde, but she's a very talented dancer. So there's that going for her lol.
  7. Lol. Who owns/rents that apartment now? If it's empty without renters you have to wonder why it's fully furnished with Tripp/Wendy/Ava/Chanel?/Li's furniture. With Salem's housing crisis you would think they would try to rent it out even if someone was murdered in the living room. Meanwhile, Connie's making omelets for two there. No wonder Li got killed. The security sucks at that building.
  8. Which is what she should have done in the first place instead of trying to kill Rafe. Connie wasn't on anyone's radar or any sort of suspect. It's a very dumb plot.
  9. Not to me. DH does look older. I don't think she's going full in on the surgeries anymore. And does anyone DH to actually look her age? That would take me entirely out of the game. lol The writing was stupid after 1993, but I don't think Marlena really went rogue and dumb until the post 2000's and most of the time she's fairly reasonable still.
  10. I mean, she did? Lol. I believe it was the Pit and her Secret Room kidnapping, but that means nothing to me lol. Deidre just rarely wears her hair anyway other than down so I just noticed it was different today. I suppose at some point Bobby might take her hostage, but Jada seems much more likely. Marlena is being written awful.
  11. It wasn't terribly memorable lol. I just remembering asking the same thing. Why now Connie? And she basically incriminated herself in those scenes asking Bobby if he saw her in the park before he confirmed he did. She is not a stealth criminal. If the weekly I love Alex K fanclub letter shows up every week you know who to blame.😂
  12. Connie thought someone might have seen her, but she wasn't sure until she heard Jada and Rafe talking. She then confronted Bobby/Everett and wasn't positive it was him until he confirmed. She explained either yesterday or the day before. The first scenes Connie/Bobby had together. Anyway, I liked Marlena's sassy up-do. I don't like how she was fooled by Bobby. I really dislike the way they are writing Marlena recently. The rest of the episode wasn't very good. Connie basically got away with this crime. She isn't a suspect. I don't know why she is so stupid to double down and kill the police chief when the obvious answer is to just leave town. Bobby/Everett is an extremely unreliable witness as is.
  13. To me, it would take a lot of weight of Mo/Sonny. With Brenda's long absences she isn't played out at all. You could use her in several places easily on the current canvas and it would give Sonny a much needed break. Whether Mo would play that or not I don't know, but he's never seemed particularly jealous of VM's star power. Even if he thinks he "helped" her along I do think it's clear he knows he owes a good portion of his longevity to her and that pairing taking off. It would be an interesting dynamic to see Sonny truly support a partner equally especially if it's Brenda who deserves that from him. The show would have to lose that 2010 narrative that Brenda is weak, flighty, and in constant need of protection though.
  14. I don't disagree that there were years and years of build up to that Sonny/Brenda wedding. It was deserved. I am not mad that they got married even if it was way too short. I loved the entire wedding even the silly Clink Boom redux because Jax and Edward were both on fire in the scenes after they thought Brenda died. Sonny was great in those acceptance scenes saying he could get mad and leave again, but the first time he left was the biggest mistake of his life. The wedding was extremely well written and thoroughly thought out and felt like Sonny and Brenda of old. As a lifelong S/B fan, I will say it felt quick overall. The build up in the current iteration of Sonny/Brenda just wasn't there. Too much Dante/Jason focus. I knew they loved one another, I knew what they had been through, and I knew they were soulmates. Guza & co didn't really show it in present day. It coasted more on past feels and assuming the audience was well versed on their history. Anyhow, I could, and have, practically written a dissertation on the flaws and issues I had with Brenda's 2010 return so we won't go down that road again lol. I wonder if the Dante/Brenda bomb of a story kind of tarnished Dante to other writers. It was a lot of Dante in a place he didn't really need to be and I wonder if GW just put Dante/Lulu together and married them to stop the negative response by fans. And more to my initial point, I wonder if GW decided to do all these weddings to mitigate the damage of other big couples breaking up at the time. It was an easy way to appease fans quickly. I could take or leave Valerie. It was a huge mistake to put her with Dante so quickly. Honestly the only other thing I remember about her was the Kristina tease. You could probably reset the character though.
  15. Far too many marriages in a 8 month period for 3 big couples (Sonny/Brenda, Jasam, Dante/Lulu). I don't know if it was to balance Patrick/Robin, Spixie, and CarJax all falling apart (and a few months later S/B) or what. It was a weird time. I can't really recall Dante/Lulu being front burner much after unless it involved the weird circumstances of their spawns being created. RC clearly had no use for Dante and Lulu was mostly used as a showpiece due to her parents. I seem to remember Valerie/Kristina being tested? I think you could bring the character back in that fashion at some point perhaps. Especially with Blaze not being up to par for KM/Kristina IMO.
  16. Nothing actually happened between Victor/Julie, but their flirtation occurred around 1990 ish.
  17. Yes. Leo was at Marlena's house whining about his problems and was going to leave to watch Drag Race and Marlena asked him to stay to watch it with her. IDEK.... Go find your husband in Greece, talk to Eric who just got Jude back, talk to Chanel/Johnny about the miscarriage, basically do anything but this.
  18. Love these scenes! They were both living a bit in a delusional for awhile, but when you laid it all out nothing had really changed. The same reasons that always broke them apart were still there and neither were willing to compromise. It was surprisingly realistic and believable for a Guza era breakup. Anyhow, Sonny had decent material for the next year or so. I think Kate was re-introduced too early and I would have waited for a few more months. The initial connection was okay and then the DID nonsense was introduced. Sonny at least seem to respect and like KSU's Connie/Kate at the beginning though. With Dante, I think the show married him off to Lulu too soon. I would have waited much longer. They were married within 6 months of Brenda leaving and that left them with nowhere to go. I can't recall if RC started the Dante cheats with Britni Sarpy's character, but that was a horrible story. A waste of a Spencer cousin? and a huge chink in Dante's armor that seemed very OOC. It seems not long after that Dante was basically severely back burned
  19. I have seen Marlena do a lot of crazy things. I think watching RuPaul's drag race with Leo was an actual character low point for her today.😂 The rest of the episode was fine. Doug and Julie were nice.
  20. Thanks! I saw that! If I was the fan club/live event type of person I would actually go. I would love to see all those people. I am sure someone will recap somewhere and unless Vanessa is announcing her comeback to the crowd I probably won't miss anything new.😂
  21. Didn't Kelly T specifically ask to be killed off because she wasn't coming back? Her own fault lol
  22. I know this isn't really the point of your post, but the Joss/Trina/Gio scenes seemed like weird filler. They were talking just to talk lol. The audience didn't need a breakdown of who does what at the Q's. I always just assumed Michael got Joss the apartment, but I didn't need a why. It seems the show is just reminding us Monica owns it, but I am not reading further into it. I don't care about Gio's experience in Bensonhurst. We get it. We've heard the same stories from different people since 1995. I also don't need an extended scene about soft serve ice cream in PC. There are 1000 characters in PC and we had to watch scene after scene of Gio/Joss/Trina drinking beer and shooting the sh*t. I know Trina deserves airtime, but this isn't it lol.
  23. I was just assuming they would leave town. Their efforts to hide in Salem have caught easily by multiple people, multiple times. Where is Tate going to stay this entire summer? Is he going to rent an apartment? Does he have money? They can't just meet in the park in the open. It's all stupid.
  24. There are no stakes. Tate covered his bases for himself, but didn't think about how Holly was going to go on the run with him. It's so silly. The last thing Nicole needs right now is her idiotic daughter disappearing. Holly is so selfish.
