I feel like the show vaguely touched on it with some of her Ned scenes, but they have never fully gotten into the reason they broke up. I have heard Lois talk about Katherine/bigamy more than once though. Hear me out -I think it's difficult to explain all these years later. You would have to name check a lot of characters that aren't around like AJ and Justus and explain Ned's role in Jason's accident again. Not to mention the Q's dysfunction now is mild comparatively to the 90's. I thought the breakup reasons were flimsy at the time and I am not sure discussing it now would make more sense. Bigamy? Forgivable. Covering for AJ? Hard no. And technically, Tracy wasn't around for the breakup (I don't think?) so Idk if Lois has animosity towards her. She was a part of the long list of reasons for Lois dipping out, but she wasn't really a catalyst for anything IIRC. YMMV, of course. Anyways, I personally get the sense that the show is implying the Katherine stuff is the reason they broke up. It just seems easier to explain.

I love that she's still close with KMc! She really grew up into a beautiful young woman.

I agree @j swift. I said this on the GH thread months ago, but even though most here hate Sonny MB has a huge fan base. Steve, Laura, and Mo have a legions of fans even if this corner of the internet is over them. I assume most people that approach them are fans and praise them. So they may here some negative chatter and comments, but I assume the adoration they get outweighs it. I suppose a newbie in their first soap role may be more sensitive to the internet, but any of the vets probably don't care.

I think Gio is supposed to be a bit older to match Joss/Trina's ages (21?) and Dex is supposed to be closer to 25 so the age gap between him and Joss isn't super creepy. Anyhow, totally impossible lol. I don't think Lois actually said it was her nephew or anything, so I am going to assume the mom or dad was her cousin and Gio is BLQ's second cousin Unless tons of PC residents are hanging out in Bensonhurst, Sonny or Dante seem like the most likely suspects here and I would rather just not. Of course the show can make up anything but I would wait and see how the character does before jumping into a backstory and new family. I don't won't another pointless Oscar situation, where Drew was saddled with that lame-o kid.

Oh, I get it. I just don't get the concept of every new young person on a soap having to be related to someone on canvas. A fringe Cerullo? Sure. Ties to Sonny? Fine. He doesn't need anymore than that to be a love interest for Trina. Dex does not need to be anyone's son either.

Dex looks about 5 years older than Gio at most lol. I don't think anyone on canvas will turn out to be his father. Dante was in Afghanistan years later I think. Unless Gio's the actual Brenda/Dante lovechild I don't think the timing is possible lol.

I am pretty positive they explained who Gio's parents were at the wedding, but I wasn't fully paying attention. He has no blood tie to Sonny though.

Lol. I am pretty sure the show referred to Gio as a "cousin" to either Lois or Brook. The internet is telling me his name is either Gio Cerullo or Gio Palmieri so I am not sure exactly who Gio belongs to. I was assuming one of Lois's siblings. I am not sure if we will ever see it, but I think it will be something she at least talks about. Does Kristina still work at the bar? Or is she on maternity leave now or whatever? Lol.

Isn't Brook Lyn related to Gio lol? Isn't it her cousin or something? Although the VC Andrews turn might make me like BLQ because it's at least interesting.

Fair enough. I always thought she was okay. She was acting opposite that mugging, obnoxious, 'quirky' Nicolas Betchel, so that would make anyone look decent in comparison. Honestly, let's just cut half a dozen people from the roster regardless. I think it is ridiculous that a legacy child like Emma has to fight for her place on the canvas when Sasha just roams free with no purpose daily lol.

I think BRS has done okay in her recent returns. I don't know if she could handle acting day in and day out, but I'd probably give her a shot.🤷‍♀️ I am not that invested in her so I also wouldn't care if they recast. I have always just assumed they were waiting on BRS to be old enough and that's why we haven't seen a SORAS'd Emma.

So I get you really hate Theresa. I don't particularly like this version of Theresa either. Sarah and Xander will have every right to be mad at Theresa when the truth comes out. But given the info Sarah currently has about Theresa it felt like she was just being bitchy to Theresa just to be bitchy. Sarah doesn't bother me most of the time, but there are times LG plays Sarah unlikeable. Yesterday was one of those days. It doesn't matter who that attitude is directed towards necessarily. She used to do it to Xander while she was lying about the baby all the time. Acting all smug, superior and bitchy to Xander when she was actively deceiving him about the baby for no good reason. I just find it unlikeable.

I don't think they really need to SORAS Emma. Brooklyn Rae Silzer is 18 lol. She's grown now. They could just bring her back. Nicolas Betchel is grown now too and he's not bad looking. If FV ever wants to torture us and go down that road.😂

I liked young Ciara too. Young Ciara was written as kind of a brat. Violet is sunshine and light and all the things good. So I am going to lean more towards NB's Spencer, but even he didn't annoy me this much. Actually maybe he did. Time heals all wounds.🤣

Yes. I think it varies on how much you like "precocious" kids, but there was a lot of lisping, singing, over the top antics like planning dates for Liz/Finn and writing songs and letters, wise beyond her years nonsense and just an overall annoyance level to me. It was very much look how cute and talented she is and it always felt staged to promote the little girl actress. I think she's been pretty okay with this plot point, but there was a lot of over the top pushing of this girl in the last year. JL isn't a young KMC or JJ and FV isn't going to make that happen lol.

The little girl is marginally talented. But it's very Kristen Alderson "I am going to build an entire teen scene around this girl" and do musical episodes vibes. And to be fair to KA she was much more likeable as a child than Violet-even the actress's real life name Jophielle Love is grating.

Literally the first person I could find that would accept her and I would immediately speed away and change my name and number so they couldn't give Violet back. 🤣 Dumping Finn is great. Keeping Violet because why? We already have a million children on this show. Not great.

Xander has been involved in so many different parts of the canvas it's crazy. Nicole mentioning him shooting Marlena is so random and I forgot about it lol. AZ and PT are good screen partners, but I feel like they also work well everywhere. I know BB's new wife is pretty young, but to be fair his ex-wife and baby momma KS is only a few years younger than him.

Oops. I probably remembered it wrong and don't feel like looking it up. I'll take your word for it. Doesn't change the fact I find Sarah unbearable and that there are reasons Theresa dislikes Xander. Agreed. Another set of characters that should hate one another, but the whole conversation ended up being surprisingly touching.

I liked the Xander and Nicole scenes. That's about it. LG as Sarah can just grate on my nerves sometimes. I know Theresa is awful and the schemer in this, but sometimes LG plays Sarah so smug, self-righteous and unlikable. Today was one of those days. Xander forced Theresa to basically be a slave and drug mule and Sarah just acts super sanctimonious and superior. Ugh..those scenes were unbearable. And Bonnie is an absolute idiot for suggesting a double wedding.

And it's very obvious. I am not the most observant person, but even I was thinking why is Trina just standing in the background listening to Joss and Gio talk? I want to think she's just so over Sonny and hearing about him, but the optics of the scenes gave me the ick.

Yeah, I totally see your point. What Finn did was very messed up and I understand getting Violet out of the situation was of immediate importance. I just think the adults should have looked into all these options, gotten the ball rolling, and then presented to Finn. Then you say at an intervention you go to rehab or these are the consequences. And you are correct. The timeframe is very quick. There were a few softball attempts to get him to rehab and then a harder attempt by Tracy, but it's not like his entire group of loved ones have tried for years to get him to straighten out. Obviously, everyone's heart is in the right place, but it seems this is giving Finn a free pass to spiral more because he's already lost everything. It makes for good soap story, I suppose, but in real life everyone is kind of bungling the whole thing and they should get some professional medical/intervention advice. Wouldn't hate that either lol.

I mean, considering everything Ava has done previously and the fact the Alexis got her life back on track it seems like an extreme overreaction on Sonny's part. In fact, Ava even had a semi-legit reason for doing it. It just seems like a complete backtrack on the more interesting story. I just think all the papers could have been drawn up, shown to Finn, and then the option of rehab be presented again. Now Finn basically is going to spiral because Violet is already gone. I 100% believe he did lol. There is really no other reason they would be interacting so much. Natalia's barely more than a caricature of a human.
