DAYS: Head Writer Ron Carlivati Departing Peacock Soap After Seven Years
And Deidre's character's actress is named Jessie Witherspoon like her Our House character. Obscure AF lol. Ron does bring in "history" but you can tell he doesn't know Days history at least. The whole Sarah thinks she's Renee Dimera, the re-introduction of the devil, making Diana Coleville this evil woman who spawned Leo, etc. etc. Some plots are okay like bringing Megan Hathaway back. That worked well enough. I also appreciate how much he seems to love Marlena, Maggie, and Julie. It's nice for them to be used even if Marlena mostly just props useless characters lol. You did hit the nail on the head though. I actually think a strong co-writer could reign him in a bit, but that would never work for RC.

I actually liked both Theresa and Sarah's dresses. Maggie was the MVP dresser today. Her dress look great on her. I generally don't get the choices Days makes with wedding guests. You would think Marlena, Kayla, Steve, Kate, John, Chad, etc would get the invite, but I guess Stephanie needed to be there instead? Lol.

I think Ron could probably help GH for about a year. That seems to be when he runs out of steam. The one thing I always liked about Ron is he seems to appreciate history. Obviously he bumbles it a lot, but I have always felt he was passionate about a show's history and previous characters. Intriguing. It's just a soap within a soap Abe got addicted to when that crazy nurse was holding him hostage. The characters have some "wink, wink" names and the leads are Deidre Hall, Lauren Koslow, MBE, and a few other Salemites. They are just supposed to resemble characters like Marlena, Kate, and Kayla and the styling is very OTT and 80's. IMO, it's just Ron getting some inside jokes in. It's not terribly offensive to me. It's more eye roll inducing than anything.

In real life? Or his writing? Ron has had some good stories throughout the years. He relies on the same old same old hacks like DID, but I enjoyed some of his early GH work and his early Days work. I particularly liked the John/Marlena wedding where Marlena was shot. I heard Mo wasn't a fan as well.

I doubt RC would end up back at GH just because it seems like there was some bad blood with his departure. I don't know if I would actually mind him on GH again. At least things would happen lol. I still think RC has some good ideas but he is horrible with execution. He certainly has an expiration date which he hit about 4 years ago on Days. I honestly think he's okay in brief stretches.

I completely forgot about Austin and his murder. I honestly don't really care if I get any closure to it lol. I assume it will be tied to Pikeman as well though. Ava would have been a good choice, but I think she would be far more concerned about it with the Avery custody issue if she did it.

I actually would have went with Brady/Chloe as well as endgame. I don't mind Phillip/Chloe, but the actor changes so often it's not worth it to me. They really needed to establish Brady with a coupling years ago. I get Brady won't have the John/Marlena soulmate romance, but he's been paired with a few ladies that could have worked. And Theresa and/or Kristen isn't that. I thought he was quite good with LH as Arianna and SJB as Madison and they got killed off lol.

The show has struggled defining Brady for years. He goes back and forth from being a good guy to slightly grey. They can't really find a solid love interest for him, his job is super uninteresting, his connections are solid but at times ill defined, and he really is no different from Eric lol. He coasts on being John and Marlena's son. EM is likable and handsome enough, but people like Drake and Peter were leading the show at his age. Brady is still living with his parents in his late 40's lol.

The Paradise Lounge was a Joe Scully operation IIRC. That's why Scully wanted a cut of Luke's when it opened. Sonny starts working with Damian and eventually Luke basically on the side to gain more power. I honestly think there was something to do with human trafficking on the Smith side of things, but I don't think Frank had any control over the Paradise Lounge. When Frank died Sonny just decided he was taking over. He didn't really have any right or claim to the territory. He just made a boss move lol.

I mean, I get that EJ lied to her, but Nicole lied a lot to EJ in the past about almost the exact same thing and wasn't very honest about her feelings for Eric. I actually think Eric gave Sloan more than Nicole gave EJ. I believed Eric did love Sloan. Idk, I always knew Sloan was temporary, but EJ/Nicole have way more history and I expected more from them. This is when the lack of Sami becomes a huge issue. She and Sydney are sorely missing in this story.

I actually really like EJ/Nicole and think they are well matched. I like Eric/Nicole as well, but EJ/Nicole just seem to fit better and accept one another's flaws. I know Ericole are endgame and that's fine, but for once I would like them to discuss why they keep repeating the same silly mistakes.

Eric and Nicole are okay. I don't mind them. The unfortunate thing is nothing ever fundamentally changes when they break up and get back together. Eric is always going to be too judge-y and Nicole is always going to screw up because she doesn't feel like she's good enough for Eric. They don't change anything about their lives and just keep repeating the same mistakes over and over. I honestly find them root able. I just don't know why this time will be different than the other 100 times they got back together before.

The hospital/Kayla put a murder weapon on the table in the open. Sure, Jada didn't actually tamper the evidence, but the whole knife just chilling on that table probably does. Jada should not be collecting evidence on her boss/boyfriend's case. That's just normal knowledge. They could use mustache guy or another extra to at least pretend to be a cop. There is no justification to the sheer laziness of this plot

Jagger is not relevant. And if you want to bring him back that's fine. Whatever. No one was asking, but his slanted skew on why he hates Sonny is weird. Jagger can hate Sonny and Jason because they are literal criminals, but bringing up past crap to characters that have no idea who Stone or Karen are is just obnoxious and weird. I know it's HISTORY! and it's being honored in Frank's mind, but none of this bs is actually what happened besides Sonny abusing an underage Karen. And Jagger isn't even the victim here. Karen was and forgave Sonny a million years ago. Jagger can be mad about it, but in essence he was banging Brenda while his traumatized true love started stripping, doing drugs, and hooking up with Sonny while Jagger was all "Karen's being weird" and didn't do much else lol.

The whole plot is unnecessarily complicated. Connie should have just left town ages ago. Or just killed Bobby/Everett instead of cooking a whole new murder plot of the Police Commissioner. Using the same knife? Or a similar knife? She's an idiot and deserves to get caught. Jada just forgetting entirely about the knife and then picking it up off a hospital table probably completely tampered with the evidence though. Also, since Harris quit there aren't any other cops in Salem to handle this case besides Jada?

That is my question. Karen and Stone have been dead for decades. Is it possible for Jagger to still be grieving? Sure? But it's not playing out how it happened on screen. Jagger did not show up for Stone's last days or funeral. Jagger had cheated on Karen and long been divorced for her when she died. If the show framed it as regret more so than a vendetta I could get it. The show is acting like Jagger has a leg to stand on with the Karen/Stone stuff in regards to Sonny. He doesn't. Sonny had nothing to do with either of those deaths. If Jagger just hated Sonny because he was a criminal that's great. He is, but the show is trying to tell me Sonny wronged Jagger which he did not in the entire scheme of things. If you are going to bring back a character from 30 years ago you might try to make it relevant to current day. Without Robin, Brenda, Karen, AJ, Ruby, Jason with a memory, etc. he's just talking to people like Lois and pretending like they knew one another. No one on canvas currently outside of Sonny was connected to Jagger at all. It's like Jagger is making up this narrative that Sonny is awful-and I agree, but Sonny is denying this. No one on the show has really lived the Sonny/Karen/Jagger/Stone/Brenda drama so there's no objective middle in the whole situation. They both suck.

That sounds like a really cool upbringing lol. I really could never place the accent so makes sense. I actually don't remember the last thing Jax did, but the Nixon Falls stuff sounds about right. I thought Willow was friends with Sasha, Maxie, Brook Lynn, Liz, etc. She has friends I think. Jax was a gray character to begin with when he first was introduced. You could go back to that. There just isn't really a point to re-invent Jax. He has more ties than Jagger, but it would be the same thing to me. Jax clearly has more purpose than Jagger or Brennan. He has enough ties to work in several places, but I weirdly don't think Jax is missing in this or that story. His absence doesn't bother me, but he's also still relevant on the current canvas. Again their are multiple characters filling the Jax "role" and you could drop them all (Jagger, Brennan, Drew, Valentin, etc) and just recast Jax I suppose.
