She had horrible material with that Reese nonsense and Carly's breakdown. Carly was very weak during this period and not very likeable. We can argue if Carly's ever been likeable, but I think you get my point. I also think Kari Wuhrer and JB look a lot alike (at least with their styling back then) and I personally would get them confused sometimes because I was watching very casually during that period. That's probably a me problem though.

Maybe Kayla can't read X-Rays. Rachel is annoying as well. I just think she's the type of kid Brady and Kristen deserve.

I'll be honest, I still don't understand the story of Nina's baby(ies). I don't get how Willow and Nelle are her children. It's extremely confusing so I would hope that there was a better (or at least more clear) version of that story. I also often forget Nina/Ava's weird ass backstory over Silas of all people.

Yeah. I definitely thought it was going to be more twisty and involve incest. GH was probably too scared to go there and just went with WDV to give him more ties to the show.

Maybe not peers, but definitely more siblings than father/daughter. They kept Sam's paternity secret so long I think a lot of us thought it was going to be something darker. Not lame-o Julian.

They have her sing songs she wrote herself for goodness sakes! Rachel is at least bratty and evil so that's interesting at least. Violet is the most perfect child in the world. UGH.

I really had to think how Sam was related to Ava for a few minutes lol. Sam met her dad when she was in her 30's. Ava after that. I know soaps usually make insta connections because biology is all that matters, but I don't see why Sam would care much.

While both children are very obnoxious I prefer Rachel to Violet. I prefer any child, human, animal, and most inanimate objects to Violet though. At least Rachel doesn't sing.

100%. I do think the actors are really doing good work so I care a little. I just don't find them compelling as a couple because up until this story we didn't know anything about them. TJ/Molly just were there. Because Molly was born on the show and HP played her for years we have a bit more detail on Molly. I still feel like I know nothing about TJ.

You could be right? I have no idea. From the very small clip I saw it looked a bit different. But that doesn't mean it's not that the same apartment. It would make sense for Lucas to give/sublet/whatever his son the apartment. I am just not the best with sets in general.

Agreed. I will say back when she was hired by Days she was completely unknown. Days was pretty desperate to find a Hope replacement (before Wayne/Deidre came back) and people seemed to enjoy the character. I have never gotten her appeal and it was all Carly, all the time, but I can see DH having issue with her just in terms of airtime and visibility. It seems strange to think about now, but DH/WN were mostly backburned after the Tale of Two Romans. DH was just basically background until the pit story/affair and I could see her being upset. Add to the clear struggles Crystal had it seems like a pretty easy leap for DH to be irritated at the very least. I am not saying DH is a gem to work with, but Crystal's issues with almost everyone are much more widely known.

I am sure TJ/Molly will get a miracle pregnancy. We will hear about for awhile and then they will go straight back to the backburner. Frank loves a pregnancy story and the show obviously needs more children lol. Even with this surrogacy story and the million Molly recasts, I don't get the sense the show cares about them as a couple. They are plot points to bring in and out.

Alex has mentioned his mother's death a few times, so I think he knows? He's never stated it. I am pretty positive Johnny knows Chanel had a threesome with Alex. I think Leo reported on it in his dumb column. Good question about Connie. That apartment has been leased/sublet by so many people. I think it was Will/Sonny's first then Eric/Nicole's then Chanel/Allie's, then Tripp/Wendy/Li/Ava, etc. I think it might be one of those apartments you can rent fully furnished? That's a bit unbelievable for Connie since she got a job just last week, but maybe it was highly discounted since someone died there lol.

She wasn't really the right fit, but I think she did the best she could? The writing for Carly was nuts back then. I don't think she did a bad job. The deck was really stacked against her. I think it was clear she was a placeholder.

It really seems implausible the town's gossip columnist wouldn't know Marlena had a doppelganger especially given Hattie's very notorious history. It's also weird Roman, Kate, Abe, etc just didn't let Marlena know Hattie was back in town so she could clear up the confusion.

The fact that both Marlena/John reacted so casually to John being kidnapped again is funny to me. Sure, they both were mildly concerned and discussed it at the Pub. Marlena was honestly more concerned with Leo's behavior than the entire John kidnapping. I wish the show would delve into a real health issue for John/Marlena. Something more realistic. It seemed like the show was thinking about it with John's aneurism/brain issues a few years back but it was all dropped. I think the DHs would do a good job in that type of story but it might be touchy given their own ages.

No. I don't even like Ava. Her writing is erratic at best. She is being dumped on in this story when she really didn't do anything wrong except hide the Sonny meds situation. Carly gets universal praise for barely acting like a human and Ava gets hatred from the entire town. Neither should be lauded for their excellence and caring, but the town acts like Carly is their queen.

🤮. It's very annoying. It's not even as if ELR is boring or bad in general. It's just some stories almost write themselves and positioning her this way is just going to fail. I predict 6 months before ELR is dumped. Ava's been the scapegoat on and off for years depending on the writing team

I am a completely biased human, but on days like this it just seems like it would have been easier if Frank just felt like talking to Vanessa Marcil? Because Brenda would have actually fit into Deception? Instead the show just a gets a similar famous name with a similar look and style and makes her a bigot to insert her into stories she doesn't belong? I obviously would never want Brenda as Blaze's mom or a bigot (which Vanessa would never play due to obvious reasons), but it just seems like the simplest solution to fill the space Natalia gets. I'll never stop pushing the agenda😂
