JG seemed to only be engaged in writing Sharon as mentally and emotionally unstable and from what I am reading, that role is now being filled by Ashley. It doesn’t say much of his writing abilities though.

I am curious to know whether he and Melissa are on speaking terms now. I had read something from Melissa that suggested that he had cut her and other family members out of his life.

Oh, this is very sad. It was always nice to see Julia pop up from time to time in recent years, even when the storyline wasn’t that great.

Ironically, Sharon has proven to be capable of convincingly portraying a mother to her adult daughter. Perhaps because that chemistry with CG was allowed to grow as the viewers watched the character and the actress grow (oh, the possibilities when you don’t SORAS the actress).

TPTB at Y&R/Sony could have nipped this in the bud 10-12 years ago, having him improve or replaced but they chose not to, perhaps they approved of what he was doing with his performance. And here things stand, with Nick seemingly unable to demonstrate a fully organic parental relationship with his adult children.

JMO here, but once his kids get to adult stage, Nick seems to struggle to perform as a father. I haven’t watched nearly enough episodes in recent times to discern whether it’s the writing, the acting, a chemistry thing that has result from so many recasts of Noah and Summer (in addition to the SORAS) or lack of direction in each scene but in recent years, I have noticed this.

In addition to observing the operations, I’m going to go ahead and assume that Duckworth will also consult with MVJ about “what not to do”, as MVJ has seen a lot of that over decades.

Has this been confirmed? It seems as though there has been a lot of um, movement at Sony these days. Thanks for providing that account of the series of events. My attention waned during that period but truly hit its nadir in the final 10.

Before I read and posted this article, I scrolled the length of it and was happy to see her photo. Of the major living cast members, there were very few (2, 3 at most) who were absent and hopefully before the end of the year, we might see Melissa Sue Anderson and Matthew Labyorteaux join them. Also, for such a large cast, it’s very cool not to have to ponder any problematic personalities (I’m looking at you, Kirk Cameron and Rick Schroeder!) from series I watched as a little kid.

The erasure! I know the show was bad at the end, but still…ATWT erasure is unacceptable. And P&G had an ad campaign slogan that said “My Black Is Beautiful”. 😂

This article had enough food ‘for thought’ that I decided to post it but there were a few other articles that I came across and decided not to post because of glaring errors and inaccuracies. One article stated that P&G’s last on air soap was Guiding Light. It would have been nice if someone had fact-checked before hitting publishing.

It’s so great that they were able to get as many former cast members as they could. I was surprised to see Jonathan Gilbert as I thought he was estranged from his sister and the entire Little House brand. And it was touching to see photos of the sons of Victor French and Michael Landon there. I have the series of books…somewhere.
