  1. Oh. That should give you time to scoop up your archive(s). I left a link on how to request that under today’s status for @ChitHappens.
  2. Any word from RG?
  3. Did you request your archive? I am waiting to get mine first before suspending and or deactivating my account.
  4. Not to mention, this: https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2022-03-25/black-tesla-employees-fremont-plant-racism-california-lawsuit
  5. Sounds like the Brexit effect imo.
  6. I agree with you there. The timing was right for Will, the real life person that he played is truly the star, the Williams Sisters is the most compelling sports story in the last two decades overall, and none of the other nominees in his category campaigned for the Academy Award this year. I don’t expect those confluence of factors to come together for Smith again. I definitely got the sense that he was one and done for that kind of prestige, even before the slap. I also believe that Smith will be just fine, career-wise. If nothing else, he can always produce. His instincts as a producer are much better that that of his acting, imo. He has done a great job with Bel Air, although I know some people don’t like the series.
  7. The fallout continues. Neither Netflix nor Smith are doing all that well movie-wise these days. TBH, I have never seen the first Bright movie.
  8. You wouldn’t know he even won if you listened to BBC news. To them it wasn’t a resounding win because Macron is respected but “not loved”. That his margin of victory was only healthy because he was the only candidate standing in the way of the far-right. Do they not remember that Macron had to beat out other candidates (including Mélenchon) to get to the runoff, while Le Pen barely squeezed into the runoff herself? And Macron being the only alternative to LePen, well, isn’t that how it works when there are only two candidates left? Never mind the fact that Macron is the first French President to be re-elected in twenty years. Now they’re going on about the “unsexy” parliamentary elections. It appears that BBC suffers from the same media disease as the U.S.: a fever for a horse race narrative. If they can’t find one, they’ll create one. They didn’t have much to say about Slovenia.😂
  9. No offense to B&B, but what other soap could you see someone leap from fashion consultant to writing staff in less than two years?
  10. Allegedly, Grigor is dating some Russian woman and it ain’t Maria. Supposedly, she’s a divorcée, the daughter of some Russian oligarch. I guess we’re just not in the know.
  11. It’s been 30 years. Joanna Johnson was that good though, to have the ability to play both sides of the coin. Johnson wanted to go and who could blame her? Who would want to play the endless triangles? It’s the reason why B&B burned through so many characters/actors in ways that took other longer soaps decades to begin to do.
  12. I actually appreciate “Bad Gal Caroline”. She has ‘zhuzh’. And Joanna Johnson is one of the few actors on at this time that can actually act. Lots of pretty faces with limited acting ability on this show.
  13. They live in a total bubble, is all I can come up with. Other than Princess Diana and now Harry, the rest appear to be completely disengaged from the people outside of their milieu. Still living in a “Past time Paradise”, as Stevie Wonder would say. They have a colonialist mentality, that somehow their former colonies remain vassal states and will fawn at their feet with the mere mention of kind words and flowery language. They need to get over themselves. Maybe they believe that if they all repeat the same message, over and over, that will somehow make it true and people will believe them, despite the fact that their actions remain contrary to their words? I admit, I am no fan of the Royal family, as they enriched themselves breaking the backs of my ancestors (much like England did). They just need to put actions behind their empty words or just go away.
  14. No U.S. style horse race narrative, just straight up results. French voters can actually go to bed knowing who won the election.
  15. The Reparations Committee of Aruba might look forward to the momentum a visit from the British Royals might bring. The Dutch government and the Dutch monarchy…maybe not so much.
  16. Preparing for Essence Fest.
  17. The Royals continue on their disastrous 'goodwill- don't-leave-us’ tour and scathing responses like these continue to be presented publicly. 🔥
  18. There was an article about the CNN+ “implosion” in the NYT and it outlined some of the mistakes the network make with launching a streaming service before the merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery had completed, knowing that a merger would, in effect, be a new company with new and different priorities and a shifted focus. IMO, also believe that the timing was poor for a launch of another paid streaming service. Had it been based on a FAST streaming model, that would have been a different concept, but one that might have gotten some support from the new merged corporation but FAST would have been unable to support that very expensive “star-studded” lineup. A FAST CNN+ service would have started out humble with perhaps one fairly well known journalist and other experience and intrepid reporters covering events and news that receive less media coverage, news that is not splashy but important nevertheless. But CNN+ wanted travel shows with sex appeal and big name ‘talking heads’.
  19. My main contention about the ban is that the players should have been at least notified beforehand. To my knowledge, they were not.
  20. Although I know that Pam wasn’t everybody’s favorite, Robin did some really good work with actors like Larry Bryggman, Elizabeth Hubbard and Jennifer Ashe. Here is one scene between Pam (Robin Morse) and Lucinda (Elizabeth Hubbard) that was very understated yet memorable for me. It begins at 37:28. Lucinda sounds like a Shakespearean character, “I am abandon-Ed”.
  21. It might be too much to ask but can we please get some video clips? It’s a touching idea nonetheless.
  22. You all know that I don’t have the most positive feelings about the royal family but, could this be true? Here’s a different link, one without a need for a login. https://au.sports.yahoo.com/tennis-2022-royal-family-centre-wimbledon-russia-ban-204659119.html
  23. The fact of the matter is that most WCs are not merit based, with the exception of the major tournaments (OZ, RG, Wimbledon, USO) where players have to qualify for them. The fact that IMG now runs this tournament most assuredly means they will dole out these WCs to whoever they want. It’s the reason some players almost never play anywhere other than a show court at a tournament.
