  1. I can almost feel the sand under my feet....
  2. Season 4 is probably the strongest as a whole in my opinion, and I was heartbroken at the end with Hazel dying. Season 5 does have some strong episodes dealing with the aftermath of the Great War, but for me Virginia, the new lady of the house, can't live up to either Hazel or Lady Marjorie. I think they tie it all up beautifully at the end though, with one of the best endings of any show I've ever watched. Which is why I like to pretend that the later BBC show from 2010 never happened.
  3. No argument there, at least not from me. Brooke has been my favourite since I started watching. It hasn't always been easy and many times it has only been thanks to KKL that Brooke has remained viable as a character. Don't we all.....?
  4. She must be misinformed, because I see no positive comments about another round of the endless B/R/T triangle anywhere. Of course I'm not on Facebook so I don't know how it is there.....
  5. I don't understand why they keep having Brooke beg Ridge to come back. Surely she would have learned by now that the best way to get him interested is to move on with someone else. That always brings him back, sniffing around her like a dog in heat. But I guess that is why Nick is back. What better way to get Ridge back than for Brooke to seemingly move on with someone Ridge dislikes that much.
  6. Sometimes two personalities just don't go together, without it being anyone's fault. Whatever they felt about each other privately I haven't heard anything about it interfering with their work on The Golden Girls, so they were obviously both professional enough to keep their personal feelings out of it.
  7. My first memories of daytime soaps dates back to the early 1990s when General Hospital aired here for a while. My viewing was a bit sporadic at first since I was still in school, but I have vague memories of Tanya's death and Jake/Bobbie/Lucy, but the story that really got me hooked was Grant Putnam kidnapping Anna. (We were a few years behind the U.S. The episodes that aired here were from roughly 1986 to 1989) My very first soap memories of any kind go back to the late 1970s when I used to watch Emmerdale Farm with my mother. It was her favourite show on tv, and I got to stay up while she watched it before going to bed. I can't remember any specific stories, but the characters stayed with me through the years, Annie, Amos, Henry, Dolly, Matt.... Re-watching those episodes now is such a treat and brings me right back to those days when I was 4-5 years old.
