^^ Thank you for the tip! On to the next batch of favourites. We're now approaching my top 10 favourite characters in Emmerdale history. But first let's check out the ones ranked 11-20.

I think it was the right choice to have Stephanie and Brooke bury the hatchet at the very end, and not in each other's backs. Just like I think, and I know others don't, that it was the right decision to have Brooke be with Stephanie when she died. Their rivalry defined the first 25 years of the show and it was a fitting end to their relationship. I think the show should have had Brooke evolve after that though, and that's where they went wrong. She should have been allowed to mature into the matriarchal role that Stephanie had.

These are certainly alternative facts!

Talk about re-writing the entire history of the show! Look, I'm on Team Brooke, and she and Stephanie did make peace before Stephanie died, but to say that Stephanie always wanted Ridge and Brooke together is the most hilarious statement ever.

What??!! 😲 Oh no!! I know most people will know him from Harry Potter, but his real tour-de-force was in Cracker. Simply one of the best crime dramas ever, and he was beyond great in that role.

Yes, Kim is indeed the character I was referring to. Her fabulous original run, with its perfect ending, has unfortunately been tainted by her return. But I agree that it has improved slightly since that 2018 run, which was just bad on so many levels....

Onwards and upwards we go. Time for part 3 of the countdown of favourite characters, and now we will pass the halfway point. And just like with Chas Dingle (#42) we now find a character that probably would have ended up higher if I'd done this earlier... But without further ado, here are the characters ranked 21-30.

It's actually too bad that Stephanie isn't around. She could have told Steffy that such definitive statements always comes back to haunt you.... And I for one will enjoy that day. I just hope that Brooke doesn't take Ridge back when he comes crawling, and he will come crawling.

Time for part 2 of the countdown of my top 50 favourite Emmerdale characters through the years. I have to say that picking 50 characters was easier than ranking them. Here are the characters ranked 31-40.

Yes, I had to put Chas on the list, even though she is a Dingle, because for a long time I actually did like her, and I wanted this list to be as fair as possible. If I had done it for, let's say the 40th anniversary, she might even have been higher up.

I hope that Sheila finds out, and gets proof of, what Thomas has done and uses that information to blackmail Steffy. Either she lets Sheila visit Hayes or she exposes Thomas' lies. It would be lovely to see Steffy squirm. 😈

In honour of the show's upcoming 50th anniversary I thought I'd put together a list of my 50 top favourite characters over the years. Now, this list is a highly personal one, so anyone familiar with my feelings towards this show will have an idea of what to expect..... Here is the first part, the characters ranked between 41-50.

What horrible news to wake up to.... 😭 So many beautiful things have already been said about her, and I co-sign every one of them. R.I.P dear Angela. The world seems a little darker and colder now that you're no longer with us.

My god, Ridge is such a repulsive jerk. What the hell do they (Taylor and Brooke) see in him? He bounces between them whenever he wants and they just accept it?!! I wish that Brooke this time releases her inner bitch and takes him for everything he owns in divorce court. Too bad that the slight flirtation between Taylor and Deacon went nowhere. It would have been delicious if Taylor had developed feelings for Deacon and cheated on Ridge with him after they got back together. Just think, Ridge abandoned by Taylor for Deacon and bled dry money wise by a vengeful Brooke. Ooh, delightful!! 🤩 And no mommy dearest to make it right for him this time....
