  1. I found quite a few synopses I'm putting together. I was more interested in those than any current soap I'm watching. It was apparently a popular show but kept getting moved around to different time-slots and networks. Won several fan-voted awards. Even saw a blurb that some fans contacted the FCC to complain about the moves and they were writing to newspapers several years after it last aired to ask when it was returning. Some things never change, lol. Also, Paramount did a film short featuring the show to demonstrate how radio programs were made. Was hoping to at least find that but didn't have any luck.
  2. Helen also played Marie Valdes on "Those We Love," in the first few months of the show in 1938. Jay Novello played her husband, Rico Valdes.
  3. I think these scenes are from this episode. Quality of the video isn’t great.
  4. @DRW50@slick jonesI found that Helen Wood was on a radio serial, Those We Love, starting in 1938. She seemed to be with the show until it ended, I think in 1944. I found some articles but the website is acting up tonight. I managed to download this picture. I’ll put the others in the Radio thread when I can access them.
  5. Thanks, at least that narrows it down. Haven't had any luck so far though.
  6. @DRW50Do you know whether that was from early in Helen Woods' career, or later?
  7. @slick jonesNot much luck with TD except for a few additional synopses. Oct 4, 1963: "Child provides explanation for Charles Gray's mysterious death. Also found this article that says Humphrey Davis was going to appear on the Sep 30 episode. Seems they would have mentioned if he was going to be in additional episodes. June 22, 1964: "Margaret Sharp's husband (she's the one who has asthma) Andy comes to the hospital." June 23: "Andy tells Dr. Powers how he is affected by his wife's asthma." June 24: "Andy and Harriet have a serious conversation." June 25: "Harriet tells (doesn't say whom she tells) outcome of her hospital stay."
  8. I didn't like Susan Oliver's Laura, even though I had liked her on other shows. I read somewhere that Tina Sloan was considered when Laura was being recast.
  9. @victoria foxtonThanks again!
  10. Another hearing has been scheduled for tomorrow at 1 pm.
  11. Couldn’t find anything re Dr. Stern and he doesn’t’t look familiar.
  12. I remember getting aggravated when they would pre-empt for the astronaut returns. The capsule would just splash in the ocean and you really couldn’t see anything since they were filming from a distance. Then the commentators would repeat what had just happened. Did enjoy the moon landing but that happened at night where I lived.
  13. Doug and Hope mentioned Dougie in a scene when Hope was pregnant with Shawn. I went to school with a boy we always called Dougie, so maybe it was a 70s thing, lol?
  14. Days went to #1 for the first time during the week of November 8, 1971. This was the first time a CBS soap didn't top the ratings in something like 10 years.
  15. 1963, so guess that couldn’t be her in the pic (assuming she didn’t lie about her age).
  16. Okay, then I don't think I got the right one @slick jones.
  17. Seeing this again, it hit me that she looks like Pamela Bellwood. Just checked wiki and it says she was born Pamela Anne King. This must be her! What do you think? Could she have played those roles? Maybe another actress with the same name?
  18. I remember reading an interview with Edward Mallory in which he said Floy Dean was replaced because she was "too soft."
