  1. Two behind-the-scenes articles, from December 1972.
  2. Is Eden McCoy too old for the category too?
  3. Loved her as Althea and Lucinda. I'm so glad I got to see her playing Althea once more.
  4. Sad to hear the news about Rita Lakin. One of my favorites.
  5. Re Peter, a friend texted me and wanted to know why he was acting like the court jester, lol. He was a bit off but hoping he was just trying to portray that Bo isn't totally himself.
  6. @slick jones The Joan Winters who was in Bad Girl is not the same actress who was married to John Venables. Winters/Venables were married in 1941, and that Joan was 22 at the time, so she would have been a child in 1930. Bad Girl Joan was an adult in 1930. This is the one who was in Bad Girls and radio, but haven't found a connection to SFT.
  7. Wow, thanks @slick jones!
  8. That would be funny. I saw it in D.C. I never saw the extras for the film. I'll have to see whether it's on YT.
  9. Loved Topol in "Fiddler." I was lucky enough to see him perform it on stage around 1990. The actress who played oldest daughter Tzeitel (Rosalind Harris) in the film played his wife Golde at that time.
  10. She also wrote for a number of soaps, including Guiding Light, As the World Turns, Edge of Night, Search for Tomorrow, The Secret Storm and Love of Life.
  11. A few articles from 1947 re radio soap called, "Here Comes Tomorrow." First soap with a Black cast, writer, producers, and sponsor.
  12. She acted in theater, it seems. The most recent reference I could find was from September 2018, when she appeared in a play in Maine, directed by Judith Ivey. This article is from 2007. She mentions that she was not working for six years because of health issues and had a kidney transplant.
  13. I remember reading that Gordon's going to ABC was because of Fred Silverman. He had seen Gordon's work and liked him. Apparently, Silverman did the same with several prime-time actors too. Of course, he then left for NBC.
  14. I took them for granted, for one thing. Didn't imagine there would be so few around when I got older. I think I watched most that were on the air in the 70s, to varying degrees. I could only watch when I was out of school though. My mom watched the NBC soaps, so she could catch me up on those if I had questions. I would sometimes get home from school in time to watch the shows that came on in late afternoon. There used to be synopses in newspapers for the others, and then Soap Opera Digest. I remember calling a phone line to get synopses too. I would channel surf if my favorite soaps weren't showing anything I was interested in. Had a radio that could pick up tv broadcasts, once I left school. Bought a vcr in the 80s, which obviously made keeping up easier, but I also cut down on the number of shows I watched, as I didn't have as much free time.
  15. I wonder too, especially since Beau’s character apparently drowned.
