  1. Ah. Thanks for answering all my repetitive questions. I won't keep asking as I'm sure it gets annoying, but if you ever have more thoughts on this or SB or SFT or whatever, the few of us here who still talk about past soaps will enjoy reading it.
  2. So you weren't much of a fan of Rocky and Rio?
  3. Thanks for the rundown. It makes sense. I guess the show was lacking a bit of spark at the time she came in? I didn't know she was there when James Horan was. I never remember when he left (was he fired or did he want to go?). Some of those episodes that appeared on in the last few months made me appreciate his acting more than I had before, especially when he had those difficult scenes with Alex about their past. I liked Dennis Parlato too but his Clay seems more one-dimensional. I've never seen Larkin's.
  4. I agree with some of his views, although I stopped paying much attention when he crawled up Guza and Braeden's hindquarters. I do think he had a point about her. He also criticized Liz Hubbard for overacting all the time as Lucinda, which I get, but I think it suited the character.
  5. I remember Michael Logan heavily criticized her work in that story. When he interviewed her a few years later, she took issue with it and basically said the writing was so bad she felt she had to play it that way.
  6. Linda Gray has some of the best work I've seen for someone her age. She looks just great. I'd say 10-15 years younger than her age.
  7. She was also on Supernatural. I think she could be alright, the only thing is she's had, I believe, some distracting facework in recent years. That and a lot of Arrow fans virulently hated her to the point where they'd likely try to [!@#$%^&*] all over another project she's in.
  8. Thanks. This must have been one of the few Jacquie and George didn't win in this era.
  9. No problem. Sometimes I think we should make a list of how many ads she was in...
  10. Yes, although that's Emmerdale much of the time in recent years. It's hard to believe now that for a number of years various characters lived in Leeds and were shown there. The show has decided to ignore that Chrissie was independently wealthy when she arrived on the show. I did enjoy Eric peeping in and seeing that woman in her towel though. Good fun.

  12. Thanks for finding that.
  13. I know a lot of fans said the cheating story ruined him. I imagine the Olive stuff would have been worse though. It sounds like one of those stories that dragged. I do wish I could see the story with Pat killing Greg, although a soap magazine I read from back then said they totally rewrote Greg's personality. The most I've seen of John was that episode where Rachel was working as his assistant and bitched out Steve. I thought he had a stalwart presence that soaps missed in recent years. Handsome as well.
  14. Welcome. It's always good - and frankly, surprising - to see someone new here. And the videos so many have put up are a real gift.
  15. Full House fans will probably remember him. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/7710182/tommy-page-ill-be-your-everything-singer-and-former-billboard-publisher-dies-at-46
  16. Sad to hear. It's too bad most of his work is gone. It seems like Lemay took a hammer to the character in later years but I'd still say killing John off was short-sighted.
  17. What gets me about this opening seeing it again is that surely JFP knew some of the people featured in it, like that dull-ass Courtney, were on the way out shortly. So it was just planned poorly from the beginning. I get why people like it, I guess, especially if they were fans of her AW work. It just never felt like AW to me at all, and I thought it was very dumb from an editing standpoint.
  18. The vets I know who voted for him say "he will be great for the military." Many of them have not actually been in service for many years. I tend to wonder how those who are feel about him...
  19. I tried to get through some of the scenes that someone put up from not too long before then - when Sharlene confronted John about the affair - and it was all so empty and precise, and not reminiscent of the AW I ever knew. So cold. Which is what the opening reminds me of. But at least it gave me some laughs by the time it came down to Victoria Wyndham turning to the camera after 50 people had been edited out...unintentional as they may have been. The clip also reminded me of how miscast Robin Christopher was as Lorna.
  20. Thanks! The last years AMC was truly itself.
  21. I recently got some 1997-ish episodes I'm going to try to upload at some point. If you ever want the links let me know.
  22. Worse than voting is people in your family trying to make sure you know how great he will be and you can't say anything. TV and movies love to have these scenes of families fighting merrily and happily about politics. I've never seen that happen in real life.
  23. The problem with playing cute about Twitter and "gotcha" means that the people who aren't as good at covering bases as Schumer is (Pelosi and Claire McCaskill) distracted from real issues because they were caught in word games about whether or not they'd ever met that diplomat.
  24. I don't think anyone on here hates Neighbours, but the two or three main people who watched it don't post here anymore. I'm sorry if you feel alone as a result.
