Someone who was an extra in two 1991 OLTL episodes put them up on YT. I think the first one may have already been around but I'd never seen the second one.- Loving/The City Discussion Thread
Me too. I am more interested in '80s Loving than the later years, but I'd still like to see it, and see more of what the Dinah Lee hype was about.- The Politics Thread
I hope he or someone who sits on him just keeps on ignoring it, because the alternative is terrifying. He's so easily distracted and his main distraction is hating Mexico and the media. Once he gets bored with that, who knows.- Y&R: Old Articles

Look at the wife of one of the key extremists in the House, doing her best to sink even the slightest effort at doing anything but completely gutting Obamacare. (yes I know Ryan's plan isn't any good either) Let's see if those people who viciously attacked Michelle Obama for focusing on "Communist" school lunches and vegetable gardens make a peep. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/meadows-ryan-obamacare-repeal-235518 Meanwhile, people are asking Trump to do something about North Korea. I notice they don't say what, because honestly, what the hell CAN you do? Personally I have no desire to see Trump get involved here...to say the least. http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/02/trump-is-doing-nothing-about-north-korea-214840- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I do enjoy Pearl though. It's probably a byproduct of having 6 episodes a week and going through every other comedy filler storyline under the sun.- Loving/The City Discussion Thread
The story started on AMC with Galen (I think this was the second Galen - the first was played by one of Tom Eplin's wives, I believe), who was a lawyer or something. Jack was involved with her, and I think the doctor who was in love with Dixie (Steven?) was as well. She had a past with Carter, who was abusive. Did he stay in Kate's boarding house or did Dinah Lee come to PV and stay at Myrtle's for a while? I've never seen any of that. I wish someone could put up all the AMC/Loving crossovers.- Loving/The City Discussion Thread
It's good to see you posting here again. Have you gotten to see any of the Loving episodes put up these past months, or any of the Search clips/episodes put up last year? There's also a new Santa Barbara channel up putting up clips.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread

I'd have some esteem for him if he'd spoken up more when it counted - during the election. Beyond that, his enabling the pandering to the far right that Rove pushed helped set the tone for so much in the GOP from that point on - the backlash during his second term, the further and further moves toward extremism because Republicans felt he broke his promises, etc. I imagine he genuinely feels what he feels about the media, freedom of religion, immigration, but it's not going to do a thing to help anyone other than himself.- The Politics Thread
I read yesterday that he is now going around claiming Obama has set up protests against him. This is another very dangerous and bizarre delusion that we now just have to accept as the new normal. It shouldn't have to be this way and more and more I worry it will be even after Trump is out of office.- Dynasty: Discussion Thread

I realized after I wrote it that it made me sound like an even bigger [!@#$%^&*] than I usually do. I know many people here do enjoy them and they're a source of entertainment and comfort, which I get. It's just most of them end up reading like patronizing silliness.- The Politics Thread

I wish them luck finding much more of a safe haven in Europe these days. The part where someone was disappointed in part because Trump didn't make a statement on the shootings stood out for me, because I think it reinforces how many people likely took for granted that Trump only had an issue with certain types of immigrants. The reality is it's any immigrant who isn't white (or white and Gentile) that he will be more likely to ignore, or persecute. And he doesn't really care about most white people either. He just doesn't care. It must be difficult for people who have been told about America to realize just how dead inside the supposed symbol of America is. That second article was very interesting. I hope he can stay in the US. It's nice that people wrote letters and didn't just shrug. That's more than I would have expected, to be honest.- The Politics Thread
True, although I'm wary of who that will drive to the polls and who they will blame. It looks like China and North Korea are having more tension. Just what the world needs now. Kim seems to be getting more and more brazen. https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-02-26/china-s-spat-with-kim-jong-un-shows-difficulties-in-stopping-him- The Politics Thread
The biggest difference from 2006 to now is even more precise gerrymandering and an increase in voter suppression. That will have an impact.- What Are You Listening To?
I read about this song when people were talking about Remy Ma's diss song...it's quite an experience. (NSFW)- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Kellie Bright (Linda) is on maternity leave. Lee hit Whitney so viewers would sympathize with her and want him gone. No, it's not. She had primetime shows for much of the late '90s up to the late '00s. She simply aged out, had some flops, and was never much of an actress.- Ryan's Hope Discussion Thread
I keep thinking the woman in this Maxwell House was on RH (at first I thought it was Randall Edwards but probably not). I'm not sure why.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Yeah the Josh and Meg happy ending stuff, complete with a happy closing credits montage, is something I can't really imagine was originally in the plan until things took off in those last months. I agree Iva shouldn't have been involved at all. Of course some fans would have said she was miserable Iva ruining her sister's wedding (SOD in those years loved to belittle how depressed Iva was), but who could blame her? The Seth thing was to help split her from Josh, as his jealousy over their growing friendship helped lead him into an affair with Meg. And then Seth and Betsy left the show together. It didn't last long, as Seth returned within a year or two. (to be honest I always felt a "special connection" with Seth that I didn't realize until years later meant I thought he was gay...and I still kind of think that...) This is probably one of the more bracingly honest parts of the Josh and Betsy relationship - it's a pretty raw scene that doesn't feel very Marland...which makes sense, as I think it was strike material. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wW-XT__Xjl0- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
This type of thing always makes me shake my head a bit. She's not much of an actress, and without soaps she likely would have been nowhere. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a822107/michelle-collins-speaks-out-over-soap-star-label-i-think-sometimes-its-slightly-unfair/- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I doubt it. Gregg was only in the role for two years and while HBS and Gregg had a lot more chemistry than she ever had with Scott Holmes, there was a ton of buildup to explain why Margo would stray (she thought he'd cheated on her, the miscarriage, his frequent absences, etc.). And Hal was her best friend, and Hendrickson always played the role very sympathetically and believably, which was one of the reasons he'd risen from bit player status in the first place. I don't think there was any big backlash, although I do wonder if people thought the whole running away thing was odd or silly (although they may have just said, "That's Margo for you" since the show didn't really take Margo completely away from her "kooky" persona until Ellen Dolan became so horribly dour). Of course it was mostly a device for HBS' maternity leave and her very nearly leaving the show, but it is somewhat odd to watch onscreen. - One Life to Live Tribute Thread
