Spicer just says what he's told to say. As soon as he goes someone else will do the same and be the latest shiny object for sycophants like SNL.

Dynasty: Discussion Thread
Judging by Susan's work on Another Life (where she was a character not hugely far off from Fallon, at least in her toxic impulses), I think she could have been fine. I don't really think she looked like Joan or John though.

I saw that. Same old media darling Marco. No matter how much the press hypes him he's a coward. That article has a lot of bite that Politico rarely has so I wonder if some are finally waking up to his worthless ass.

Of course he would, because he's a pathetic and deluded man who will never be happy. As long as the focus is on "rigging" claims and on Tom Perez and the DNC responding to this (which just further spreads the belief among people who don't pay a lot of attention that it must have been rigged because why else is it being talked about so much), it just hurts Democrats in their plans to move forward.

This just annoys me. Trump again sets the tone and everyone else responds. It's not even that he's some tactical genius - he's not - it's just a cheap trick that often works. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/perez-dismisses-trumps-claim-that-dnc-process-was-rigged-235406 And it looks like Sanders supporters were trying to go after anyone who didn't play ball. I really wish these people would just be drummed out of any party role. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/sanders-revolution-resists-dnc-loss-235404

Democrats have kept control of the Delaware state senate via a special election win tonight. http://www.delawareonline.com/story/news/politics/2017/02/25/senate-district-10-race-draws-crowd-complaints/98375166/

I used to feel that way during the election, but now I feel like that's one of the reasons Hillary lost. He can't be ignored, per se, but I think the best the Democrats can do is to harness that energy on state and local levels and try not to let him distract and demoralize.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
She was also involved with Seth. One of the main problems was all her love interests were, like her, very serious. It's actually bizarre to realize her goofiest love interest was Josh, a rapist and child abuse victim. I think Marland had all these ideas of Lily's father and the conflict this would cause with Iva - it would also be the catalyst to reveal the secret everyone in Lily's had gone to great pains to keep to themselves. And then of course there was more story with Lily accepting him, which meant everyone else did as time passed. It could have been a more generic tale if not for the affair with Meg, which was lots of drama and passion that I'm not sure was originally going to be there without the chemistry between Finchtner and Jennifer Ashe. It's pretty explosive stuff for Marland's ATWT (I sometimes wonder how much of that was pushed further by the strike). It ended up being what defined Josh, even though it was mostly just in his last 5-6 months on the show.

It's the defensiveness + trying to be tough in an awkward way that reminds me of Kerry. That tweet reeked of it to me. But then I hate Twitter anyway. If you loved it that's what matters, not my opinion.- Another World Discussion Thread

It's not really trolling when he trolls first though. It's just stooping to his level. This will now be the story, not anything else Perez says.- The Politics Thread
I'm cynical enough to think that not even that would get rid of most tourism, as I imagine most is from rich white people, but we now seem to be moving into a phase where even they are affected, if that Australian author is any indication (if she isn't white then I apologize). They are essentially moving the goalposts from people feeling unsettled and possibly wanting to stay away for a while to make a political statement to people being terrified to come here because they have no idea if they will be locked up. It seemed like try-hard posturing to me, especially "Call Me Tom." I got John Kerry vibes. I gladly voted for John Kerry but I don't need to see that in a DNC chair. But I'm not the target voter anyway, so what do I know.- ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?

It seemed like a finale to me, as everything was tied up. It still could have gone on, I suppose, but Angela's speech (written by Jane herself) really did feel like an end. (the person who did the video added the pictures - the original is just rolling fields)- Doctor Who

A lot (not all) of the Bernie supporters need to make it all about them. I noticed that when I was reading about their reaction to Ellison losing: http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/perez-elected-dnc-chairman-235392 Tensions exploded on the floor Saturday as members of Ellison’s team sent voting members text messages during the first round voting process claiming an endorsement from Buttigieg — which Buttigieg then rebutted on Twitter. Only after voting closed did Ellison forces text out a correction. As the second round of voting finished, Ellison’s team circulated a last-second endorsement from former chair Howard Dean, feeling the need to clarify “This is real." When Perez won, Ellison backers erupted in anger, chanting “Party of the people, not big money!” But that fury turned to relief and big smiles as Ellison took the deputy chair title. One of the reasons I am not involved in any party stuff is because I could never put up with this type of narcissism, the equivalent of children crying about someone else getting candy until they get a piece too. It's been disheartening how much of this DNC race has become one more personality contest. It doesn't really give me hope that the party will be unified. They are lucky that so many people are fighting back against Trump, but that is in spite of the Democratic Party, not because of them. The party still seems to be fascinated by its own navel.- Doctor Who
Thanks. It's kind of tough to invest in Bill with all the speculation she will just be there for a year, but I hope it works out.- ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?

Democrats worry (rightly I'd say, especially given how much this DNC chair has become a personality contest/proxy war and not about leading the party) that anti-Trump efforts will do nothing to strengthen their operations. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/democrats-dnc-chair-angst-235382 - The Politics Thread
