  1. Liz's adopted granddaughter Julia, played by among others Kyra Sedgwick and Faith Ford. Ford was playing Julia when she was killed. I think they killed Sally for the same reason they killed Felicia's husband Zane and then started a grisly serial killer story - to try to goose ratings.
  2. Did they give a reason Alice wasn't at Sally's funeral?
  3. I think Rauch and the Labines asked her and maybe Michael Tylo to return for the Mary/Mae Marisi storyline, as she was supposed to be Stacey, but they declined due to the way Rauch had treated them. I was a huge fan of Sarah Brown as Carly but it never seemed to come together on her other soaps. I'm not sure it would have been any different here.
  4. I remember him. That story annoyed me at first but had a moving end. I also enjoyed seeing Eileen in a dual role.
  5. Thanks. Maybe I'm confusing Mary with Vicky Wyndham... I know that that and the Ann Marcus thing suggest some ego issues with Mary Stuart but I think she was too well-respected in the industry for that to be all that true. (that's a lot of thats...)
  6. @dc11786 there seem to be mentions of Katy in this episode, a number of mentions, although we don't see her (I wonder if they had written her out even though they act like she's still on the canvas). Is this the one that was on WOST?
  7. I like Bonnie Langford, it's just been so much awful writing that I flinch when I see Carmel. The Robbie idea is a good one though.
  8. I know a lot of you have mentioned the H1B program and whether Trump would do anything about it. I imagine he will change it for the worse, but apparently he is going to try to change it... https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/apr/17/donald-trump-temporary-worker-h1b-visa-executive-order
  9. Did someone say Mary Stuart felt some of these decisions were efforts to isolate her character?
  10. Courtney's performances in her returns were very strong, especially that final scene with Rachel on the yacht, which is exquisitely acted. I'd like to see it as some sort of justice that even if Lemay's heavy trashing of her work is how many know her, most of his AW is gone, while at least a new generation of viewers (in 1989 and again on Soapnet) got to see some of her work and see her talent and charisma as an actress. Alice could have gone in so many directions as a character and really steadied the show in rocky times, and Courtney had the quirkiness as an actress to have fit into the "new" AW as well that started focusing more on friendships rather than family. If only they'd tried.
  11. Thanks for the details, as always. I do wish more was out as I wonder if this was typical of the old writers - if so I could see why they would have been replaced, although maybe it is Lipton. I don't know what his style is like.
  12. Thanks. She hasn't changed much.
  13. She seemed to be Donna Swajeski's type of actress - if you take away the forced kookiness, Frankie was very much a role a young Jacquie Courtney could have played. (maybe she even would have had chemistry with Stephen Schnetzer...)
  14. First I've seen. The uploader says they have 4 more episodes. Did you notice the DAYS music cue around 17:50? Is it me or does this script feel like an old radio soap?
  15. I think that may be the wrong video.
  16. That is hilarious.
  17. You must hate Robbie to wish Carmel on him... I always liked Robbie. Not sure I expected a return, but I hope it works out. I could see a guest appearance for Kat down the line but most likely nothing else.
  18. Thanks. I'm enjoying Emmerdale more again lately (the Aaron/Rebecca/Robert story is the poorest but Robert being written in character and giving me some unintentional laughs helps) and I thought the Ashley final episodes and funeral were very well done.
  19. Are you watching any of the UK soaps these days?
  20. The little girl at the start of this went on to Broadway but along the way apparently also played a young Erica in 1988.
  21. She looks a bit old to be her but it reminds me a lot of her, especially at the end. I guess she isn't on FB or anything to where we could ask... Sad that there's so little material of her outside of SB in the first place.
