  1. The show was beautifully paced in those years. You'd think with 6-7 episodes a week they would use that to take the time to slowly develop stories and characters. They have done just the opposite, with bang boom crash and lots of padding in between. There are some stories lately that feel a bit like the old type (like the Jacob and Maya story). I just hope that can continue. Oh I was going to send you a few more episodes - sorry for not sending any recently.
  2. You're definitely not alone there. I feel like the pacing has become very stretched out this year, a bit more like the show used to be pre-Blyth. The Daz endless goodbye has that tone - it's not quite repetitive, because the story does progress, yet it does stretch out. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I like the idea - I just wish the stories could get stronger. Maybe next year, if they don't have a big ratings drop and can keep the pacing the way it is now, we will get some good payoff.
  3. I guess the idea is she lost Joe and was in prison, so that was enough.
  4. This is why all the stuff about how Trump was going to give up on the border wall never meant anything to me - he was never going to give up. He just needed a push to go back to his basest instincts. And he knows the media and the GOP and their money machine will push this as brave and why are Democrats helping illegals and so on and so forth.
  5. Democrats weren't supposed to lose in 2016 either. The media and the money men would love to see them lose, and I imagine that "activists" like AOC would as well. She craves media attention and validation - like her pal Bernie, she's an opportunist. Sadly many liberals are more than happy to use her as their avatar, likely because most of them also hate the party and hate actually doing real work to change it.
  6. I remember the show getting a lot of criticism as well, especially the first season. I'm not sure what a reboot would get. RTD's last gay show, Banana/Cucumber/whatever, got a ton of backlash.
  7. I see that Ken Starr is doing the rounds of cable news. Someone in the media must really be scared there will be an impeachment to wheel him out. What a surprise he's getting the red carpet.
  8. Does the original article mean to imply the UK version wasn't successful by saying it only ran 10 episodes? That's not how it works over there. I grew to enjoy the US version, but I do know times change. I just don't know why they need to have a reboot. Why not just a brand new show? And why is this on Bravo, a network that treats gay men like purses, not human beings?
  9. I saw that it was mentioned in another thread but I didn't catch it and just saw an article today. Philip Bosco passed away earlier this month. He was in many different works but I remember him best as Sam's "father," Elliot, who popped up in 1994 and 1995. I really loved that character, and Bosco worked so well with Brooke Alexander. He was one of the guest actors, like Jenny O'Hara and Claire Bloom, who kept me interested in ATWT when the writing by that point often did not. https://www.welovesoaps.net/2018/12/philip-bosco-dead-at-88.html
  10. Thanks. I keep forgetting the site is still up.
  11. That Patreon story is interesting. This happens again and again with far-right extremists. They always say terrible things, get booted, cry censorship, and get more money coming in while becoming even more extreme. Dave Rubin used to be with the Young Turks, and then presumably left because he saw there was more money in claiming to be too oppressed by attacks on free speech from out of control liberals. It will be interesting to see what he does now that the money is drying up.
  12. A brief glimpse of the opening credits around 8 minutes in. This may be the closest we ever get to any actual footage...
  13. I've kind of given up hope on these old uploads having any actual scenes and not just credits, but this one has a view of Monticello that I never remember seeing in any other credits. Do you remember this @vetsoapfan ? It's at about 41 minutes.
  14. I wonder if that might warrant a pop-in on The OC or if it's too little too late.
  15. Good! The more we have heard about this the worse it got.
  16. Where did you get the memo that only gay men have anything to say about him? I may be wrong, but I think the person who posted about him was a woman (if I'm wrong, my apologies). Are you only happy to oppose gay men who don't like him? Do women get a pass?
  17. They both look familiar to me - I keep thinking I saw the review woman on a soap, like ATWT.
  18. Does anyone know who the woman at 56 minutes is, and the first woman who "reviews" Scent of a Woman?
  19. I don't think Bull has been the hit that CBS was hoping for. This may just give them cover to can it.
  20. Looking back I kind of wish they actually had killed Kirk off in 1995 after he married Sam, knowing what was to come. I remember Nancy had a brief interview in a soap magazine then, SPW (I think she did, anyway - I think she watched some soap) but I don't know where I would have put the scan. That is the first time I've watched anything of that era in many years. Just ugh. Nice to see her though.
  21. Starts at about 34 minutes and again at 45 minutes.
  22. Nancy Wilson, who sang on ATWT in 1997, has passed away.
